- Kay Burley asked the interim chair of the Conservative Party Richard Fuller why his party crashed to a historic defeat in the general election.
Mr Fuller said it "comes down to the behaviour of the parliamentary party".
"We looked divided, we looked like we were self-serving, and those things led us to lose focus on competent delivery on the priorities of the British public."

They still don't understand the real reasons, do they? Or at least they pretend not to.
What is things of priorities for British public? mass immigration.
Not for me , that’s not even on my list !
They will have more time for their second jobs
crap it was 1.4 million immigrants wake up
I hope the tories stay divided for a very long time
Not interested .
He’s wrong, the complete and utter failure to stop mass illegal immigration and having the highest energy charges in Western Europe was the reason Tories lost.
still don't get it, do they?
just go away, tory.
And the lousy running the economy
They didn't keep to there promises stop the boats never happened that was the worse one
Too many remoaners among them
Indeed Brexit has worked so well to reduce our GDP and consign British farming to the scrap heap…..
still at least we kept control of our borders , eh fruity loop?
Brex1t has lived up to every economist expectations in being total economic train wreck
Loosing fom has quadrupled migration not cut it
true, Brexit is the best thing ever happened in UK after we won the WWII. We are free to stop immigration, decide our rules for commerce, fish anywhere we like and rule the work as the best country in the universe!!!
Secure.
The.
Borders.
Stop voting Tory
JRM is still out of touch, he still thinks Boris won the election, people voted for BREXIT, it wouldn't mattered who promised it, that is what people kept on voting for it, yet, the Tories didn't deliver it. Cameron was elected on the promise of a referendum, it goes back that far. Since 2010, the electorate were asking for immigration to be radically decreased.
Nothing changing then?
reform
Lol still not getting it, it was because the tory party went far left.
Far left - aka not totally white.
@@James-n2t4w far left aka - no more white
Those bloody tories..still light years ahead of the StasiLabour extremists in power now even on their worst day.
Since when?
We're poorer than 14years ago, we've lost the right to move freely in Europe, Brex1t depressed our gdp by over 1 trillion since 2016 and privatisation is a complete failure
Some people seem to be suffering with sort term memory loss.
@@SlowhandGreg 14 years ago.......🥱🥱......Labour left us in recession.....Labour initiated austerity.....Tories rebuilt the economy....
@T5Zplayer we were 800 billion in debt 14 years ago our tax base was 33%, were 2.4 trillion in debt and our tax base is 37% and rising
We spent 20 billion on housing support last year because of Tory asset stripping, 72 billion on energy support because of Tory asset stripping and abandonment of labour green policies over the 14 years.
@@SlowhandGreg the only thing left to sell was the NHS, and they'd have done that too. They ran it into the ground on purpose.
Delusional as always. Havent got a clue have they
Finally they admit it publicly
Boris Johnstone destroyed the Tories period
Trussonomics
That’s a overly simplistic statement when there’s others who played their part in that as well as other factors at play
@@ravens-crypt no other lied to the nation and in parliament
@@Stuart-joneslook BJ did 💩 on the highest level so there we are in agreement but it’s naive to think that’s the only thing that got them the boot
@@ravens-crypt it was the earthquake moment and they were voted out of office rather than labour voted in who I believe only had 30 % of the vote now we see the same nose in the trough politicians
I liked Sunak but he lacked the grit to instigate his plan for deportation. Leadership should be given very carefully considered, the wrong choice would be catastrophic. Putting up the Star of David is nonsensical & irrelevant to the mess the country is in - focus on issues that people are most concerned about.
The Conservatives lost because their neoliberal policies , caveated with "might", "may", etc., no longer appear to their traditional voter base. They're now even less appealing than this interviewer's poor Anne Robinson impression.
The defeat was down to spending 14 years driving our economy into the toilet, Austerity, Brexit, tax increases, more Austerity, 50 years of privatisation hitting the fan
The Tories are done Rest In Pieces
Labour are guilty of that too. They pissed all the money up the wall and are just as incompetent. Look at Starmer now. Labour are more tories than the tories!
Brexit was their only saving grace.
Nonsense , it was Reform that killed them by splitting the vote . Labour would have struggled to form a stable gov. The only silver lining was the SNP got battered.
Richard Fuller Schitt is his full name, his Eton chums call him Dickie Schitt.
Liz Truss was also on the news today, she said the Tories would have done much better if she'd still been their leader.
Anyone else getting the impression that these people are in denial, somewhat?
All the main parties are split, some MPs are aligned with the British people, most aren't. I think we are going to see a lot of people realign with those that match their hearts of conscience. Like when Andrew Bridgen stood as an Independent and Lee Anderson joined Reform. Rosie is now standing as an Independent. its happening in councils, some councillors have left the Tories and defected to Reform. Has Maurice Saatchi said they have to stop treating the people has mugs, we are not!
I blame the woke media, should have got rid of sunak and replaced him with either farage or boris back
Nothing to do with woke media it's anti woke media and no farage and Boris are awful
🤣
they couldn't have done anything, unfortunately labour are the next popular, not so sure either of them will be in power next time.
Who on earth is this rude female interviewer, over aggressive.
Will not answer
Can't be trusted
Netanyahu twin !
Dumb.
The party are divided and have been since Cameron arrived, he was a closet Liberal Democratic, further division for the party came in Brexit and it has never recovered, totally split and a bitterly split at that !
What is it about our prime ministers and closets 🤔
This gentleman is talking a lot of sense ! Needs to run for P M then I might have a rethink !
