- Welcome to another episode of Instruments of Destruction! Today I am attempting to build an explosive launching slingshot capable of destroying buildings! Not many games have the ability to use stretchy rope like this, so if any game will let me build the slingshot of my dreams, it's this one!

About the game:
Instruments of Destruction features an advanced physics-based destruction system. You can demolish every structure in the game piece by piece. In addition, every object you see in the game world--save for small decorative plants and rocks--is part of the physics system. Each element of the world interacts with each other and together they create a physical, visceral world to play with.
Build Your Vehicle
Build a vehicle your way, with an ever-expanding array of parts and pieces. Using an intuitive vehicle construction system that also lets you customize your vehicles' appearance and controls, you'll always have fun creating your next awesome invention.
From simple splitters to advanced joints, a variety of parts slowly unlock as you play through the game, and each unlocks countless new possibilities.
While some vehicles will perform better than others in accomplishing your objectives, it's always a bit more fun to get creative and go a little off script. Optional bonus challenges and objectives will reward more creative builders and add more replayability.

I wonder if you could use a rope or chain that winds around a swivel to pull the slingshot for even more power. Like the crane used.
If ropes/bungee's can collide with each other a "Mangonel" would be a cool interpretation of your suggestion :D
Also to lower the site to be more accurate to where it actually goes, although it would take lots trial and error
I actually bought this game because of you Scrapman.
I've been enjoying every moment of experimenting with builds!
The game also doubles as a great benchmarking tool lol.

@@_miobrot_603 Don't go in expecting complex gameplay or story, the game allows you to pull-off complex builds if you so choose, but doesn't punish you for not going that route.
In the end it's all about no stress, chill building with the added satisfaction of watching your creations tank structures and your FPS into oblivion.
I'd give it a solid 7.5/10, the physics feel better than most games in its genre, here's hoping we get larger maps and more gameplay options in the future.

I fun recommendation for a future episode would be a musical instrument of destruction. In the intro you could say, "welcome back to instruments of destruction, and today we are building an instrument of destruction". I good instrument could be those cymbals that you hit together and you could crush a building with them.
Try to make a contraption where you bore into the building like a drill bit / or pilot hole , and then the drill bit part has a rapid expand and contract feature to destroy it from the inside out ...like overly large dynabolt.
Something I haven't seen anyone do: turn the vortex orb into a ranged projectile to test the destructive capabilities.
Actually, what about the destructive properties of other pieces? I think your slingshot would be a great way to test that. Go down the list, and replace the warhead with other components, and see how they act as ammunition, and which works better. We might find out some neat properties of even the frame blocks by doing this.
Hi ScrapMan! My idea for an episode is some kind of scanner made of lasers, that scans from top to bottom, but instead of scanning the building, it melts it. Thank you.

Make something that launches a volley of missiles at a target. Like bombs with thrusters on them. Almost like one of those firework boxes but sideways.🚀🚀🚀💥

You can actually fix the stability by putting the pistons further towards the center of mass for the turning object (in this particular case, the slingshot). I'd suggest placing the pistons just below the "Y."

Replace the bombs on the sling shot with one or more of those black hole thingies!
As a kid I loved playing with pea shooters, bscly a miniature catapult-like-thing, made from the plastic center of those small rolls of tape and a balloon (and some tape) you could maybe try make one using lots of bungee ropes in a circular layout?
Was not expecting that to be so accurate and consistent.

You could make yourself a challenge, get as much destruction with as low budget you can get

The game is like a more destructive version of trailmakers which makes it more fun
Now, you've made Beyblades in Trailmakers. And you've made Beyblades in Scrap Mechanic. But, although you don't have a stadium you can use it in... are you able to make a Beyblade in Instruments of Destruction?
I would love to see you launch so many missiles that you hopefully destroy all of the buildings in one salvo

You asked for crazy contraptions - what about trying to weaponize that weird oscillation? Making a smaller vehicle that can initiate that feedback loop, then release the grip to fling itself at the buildings?

Idea: Do this, but with outward vortex. There would be massive spread shot. Or inward for a great deal more damage

I have a suggestion to make. On the concept of flexible component weaponry, I suggest you make a Bola, (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bolas)
A device made of a string, connected to multiple weights by other strings at the end. In operation, The end of the primary string is held while riven in a circular motion to cause the weights to revolve (Flail) around the hand. The String is then released, and the weights continue to move, tangent to the original path due to momentum. Due to rotation and the centripetal force, The weights move apart and revolve around each other. The then move to ensnare the target.
You should've done that when the slingshot aims up, the laser (at a starting position aiming to where it lands) points farer to the ground as far as the slingshot can reach

Scrapman, you could actually make a hook that opens and closes, to grab the bomb releaser and like only shoot one at a time, then have 4 bombs in the sling and with the hook, grab and retract.

I would like to see other iterations on this build maybe a magnet system to pull the bungie back. And seeing if you can get stronger releases and bigger pay loads.

You should have try magnets to attach and detached it. I think you could go farther backwards with magnets than with pistons.

Video Idea: make a vehicle that throws spinning shurikens powered by thrusters and has lasers.

Scrapman I have two ideas that you could do on the bomb you could add a thruster behind the bomb, also try to do Godzilla with the lasers
You and your friends should combine a vehicle and do a 2v2.
Maybe you could build a flail/mace that has lasers instead of spikes!

Hi scrap man if you stick more bungie cords on your sling shoot it should go in a straight line instead of dropping down so where you point your Lazer sight
In an alternative universe there might be "unexplosive bombs" as well as healing papercuts, so yeah.
Use a power swivel, some blocks, and two free swivels in a way where the steering for this would work seeing that a power swivel has no wobble.

You should make a bomber plane next so you can hit the tops and so you can use the aiming laser to aim better because it doesn’t work as well with the sling shot

the issue with the sway when you were trying to turn with the power swivel was because the strenght was at 0.3
Strength=Speed on moving parts. Increasing that would just lower precision
@@scrapman Yeah well it' kinda both strenght and speed at the same time because more strenght allows it to move heavier things easier so it can look like it's faster (at least irl, i don't know in the game)

Day 67 of trying put a comment about people asking me the questions of the music he uses. you should re-create the wedge car, but make it out of the long ones, and put bombs on the rockets. Why? WEDGE GANG!

Hey scrapman do you remember raft the game you and kan played about 2 years ago. It has went through some major updates i would love to see a series on it like volcaniods but you can take your time since you already have MCS series so don't pressure yourself

You could make a reloading version by instead making a tube in which the bomb travels through; then you pull the launcher back and drop in another bomb

Could you have used magnets to draw the slingshot? Seems like it might give you more room for a longer draw.

I still want to see what you get if two vacuums are facing each other on opposite sides of a building. rip the Building in half!
Tip if you are trying to make stable turrets etc. Attach elastic from the base of the vehicle to the turret. The joint needs to be under load at all time or it just jiggles. I normally put two bands, one dragging against each direction of movement
You can make a reloadable slingshot using cannons to spawn ammo
The 2 skyscraper seems to make a beirut explosion everytime you hit it
