    Makes perfect sense. Charge 2500 a month for rent in a 1 bedroom. Then pay workers 12 hr expect them to live. I live in Naples. The housing market is ridiculous. It's no wonder so many people are homeless.

      apartments in Naples start around 2,200 for a small 1BR. While living in Naples, we NEVER got paid enough to afford that. Even being self employed we struggled. And we had the place there PAID OFF.. we just had to make enough to eat

      Average rent here in Melbourne is like $1500 a month, not counting everything else that comes with it. Yeah it's a little cheaper here but it's still a lot at the end of the day since Florida is very low pay. Most places in this area don't pay enough to sustain it. Unless you're into technology or at the space center, Brevard area is okay ish I guess, but it's definitely not easy to get ahead in due to all the low paying jobs and everything being far away. Not as high end as other lower parts of Florida, but we have a huge drug problem here and several run down cities like Cocoa and Titusville.

    • @mcamman6193
      @mcamman6193 Год назад +3

      Plus the Melbourne area is full of a lot of backwards people and a bunch of corrupt government. Everything is around car dependency (Palm Bay at 130,000 is pretty much purely suburban homes with an exception of a few spread out shopping plazas, gotta drive to Melbourne to do everything). The drug and crime problems here are becoming increasingly concerning (cops are down on every single corner at night here in Melbourne now, a shooting happened in downtown a few weeks ago), especially with a lot of cities in the north side of the county in run down conditions. Some areas like Viera and the beach towns and parts of West Melbourne are nice but yeah. Florida is general is just hard as hell to get ahead in, even as someone who comes from an upper middle class family, it's hard.

      @@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS I agree that Naples is way nicer and safer. It's expensive because everyone wants to be there with all the tropical vibes and the amazing scenery. If money wasn't an issue it would otherwise be one of my top places in Florida to move to.
      As someone who's lived here most of my life, the whole Melbourne area can't really compare to the scenery of Naples. Our area has a lot more older neighborhoods and it's too far north to get the full tropical atmosphere (which cuts off around Sebastian inlet). Downtown and the beaches are pretty, but it's just not that exciting of a place to live in. Compared to other metro places in Florida, the area is just kinda average and boring feeling. It's got just enough Florida flavor but it's mainly a dumping spot for people who wanna live here but otherwise can't afford the more expensive areas of the state. At least I can get to Orlando in an hour.

    I am born and raised in Downtown Seattle a city which has had one of the highest homeless populations for decades. It has become embedded in the social and cultural fabric similar to places like LA or SF. While a high percentage are on drugs and mentally ill it is also an economic issue and the State itself has no real viable solution. This is becoming evident nationwide and even more apparent since the Covid outbreak. There are options like low income housing but it can take many years to get housing. There are no quick fixes to this problem but I do believe if individually you are committed to getting housing it can be done as I have done it myself and seen many others accomplish this goal as well.

    Wait who caused the problem, the person who has a criminal history, drug history, sexual abuse history and now homeless. Where does responsibility fall on the people who got themselves into this mess. Sorry to say people can clean up after themselves but choose not to, being poor and being dirty is two different stories. I do have an issue with homeless camps in our area and I live what was considered no man's land at one time but not anymore, they just cleaned out the woods because we had issues in the area. So as far as California goes, I have friends who were born and raised there however left after 60 years they left because the crime was horrible, couldn't even go to San Fran without having there windows knocked out, car urinated on. As nurse in Florida there is mental health available but you cannot force people to get help, I worked for TGH hospital fo 20 years never once did we deny care to homeless people, in fact I can remember we would get the same homeless people and we would give them food and clothes. Also if you did your research the only 2 states that is it legal to be homeless is Oregon and Wyoming. Believe me I know people who have been homeless. I know people whobare very close to me yet they figured it out and our doing very well, own homes now and are participating citizens but they choose to walk away from the illegal activities. Heck I struggled never homeless but figured it out. I have compassion for people especially our elderly who got screwed out of their retirements but those who are drugged out, sexual abuse criminals, I have lost my compassion for them because most times you will find the are habitual offenders and feel everything is owed to them, they refuse to get help, I understand being scared but we all have to face our demons sometimes. Florida is 3rd for homeless and of course Cali has the highest homeless population but Cali has roughly 18 million more people than Florida so of course they aren't locking people up no where to put them, heck murders walk free every day. As far as Disney in Florida goes it should have kept there political views out of the business, sorry I don't agree with the bolonga and I don't know many who do including many of the younger generation population I experience. Florida has changed so much in the 45 years I have been coming to and now living in for the last 27 years but it's much better than some of the other states out there. I strongly don't believe in trashing where you live instead be part of the solution not the problem. I have volunteered at mental health resources, homeless shelters, food kitchens and have meet wonderful people and people who scared and people who have given me a new way of looking at life but we have choices to make no matter what life throws at us.

    The woods is not suitable for human habitation. IF the city provides dumpsters, while it makes sense, it also implies the city approves of the woods to become a homeless camp, which can bring lawsuits since the homeless can become injured there. Further, city municipalities would find EMPTYING these recipicals impossible since wooded areas are impossible for dump trucks to drive through, and would be a very costly undertaking. Homeless accumulating would incur complaints in neighborhoods and businesses and with that, lawsuits for not protecting said establishments.

    That’s not true the only thing that these organizations help people with when they’re homeless or if they’re addicted to alcohol or some kind of form of addiction they won’t help someone who’s just homeless is fallen on hard times you have to have some form of addiction so they can put you in a place believe me I know all too well and if this passes it just goes to show how corrupt our system is I mean we already know how corrupt everything is I know from personal experience

    Dayum, how many ways can you say “Alabama has a low homeless rate bc the homeless are in jail/prison/incarcerated? “ I just listened to you repeat yourself 3 different ways. Ugh.

      They refuse to get sober or stop the drug life. Shelters should not accept them if using.

    I've decided to move to Naples. LOL. I should film MY experiences and see how I get treated and post it on the tube. I'm not kidding. It would be interesting to see.
