hey Andy, I remember the first time I watch your RUclips video that inspired me to make a flip book when I was still a 3rd graders, I was so proud that time that I make my own flip book after watching your tutorial. And now I'm a 9th graders and still doing it bcs of you 😅

Andymation was the reason why I got into flip book and then got into art then stop motion and he was the reason why I got into art stop motion and I thank Andy for inspiring me if it wasn’t for him I would not like art.
We just got our kit in the mail. Love everything about it. Thank you! My son wants you to consider making rainbow color snap screws. If that can’t be done he would settle for pink ones. 😂
Only thing that would make them better is if they were "joinable pieces" rather than "snappable". Sort of like lego, you can make them shorter but you can also make them longer of you wish. Right now they give off a "one-time-use" kinda vibe. Anyway, love your work! ❤
I don't think that would really be possible in any practical way. They are meant to be single use because once the flipbook is done it's done. I don't think many people are going to be throwing away their flipbook after finishing it just so they can reuse the screws. If they were, they wouldn't need to screw them together in the first place.
@@isaacholzwarth I work in engineering and its generally bad practice to design something that you can 'break' but cannot reverse. These screws neither should be single use nor is there a guarantee that one won't need to make changes to their book once screwed in. What if they need to add more pages? Or what if someone accidentally broke the screw shorter then they meant to? We call these 'test cases' and ask many such questions from a customer point of view to make sure the product is not a failure in these situations. Besides, these are pretty long screws and a majority of people and kids will be making smaller sized books so most of the 'screw material' is for the trash once 3/4th part of them are snapped off. Basically wasted.
Whoever designed this should have gone one step further and designed them as reusable pieces so you dont have to throw away anything. Less wastage, full value for money, more flexibility for customers.

@@peacockymanEach segment has a length of smaller internal and external screw thread on either end that allows it to connect to other segments.
Day 2: Andy, I think you should do a challenge where you make a story with the most amount of pages you can. Then get lower and lower until you can’t get lower anymore. Then show it to people and see if they can tell what the story is? Hope you see this

But these do seem inexpensive enough that simply switching to new screws should do. 😇
If you're working on a flipbook, you could leave the screw long and snap it to length after.
Yes, you want to wait until your flipbook is finished and ready to be bound. I never bind mine until I’m all the way finished. So it’s the same as how the metal screws were used in that regard.
I remember watching your first video and it was garbage pail kids ( I'm an artist but not good at coloring but I drew garbage pail kids and I loved it) all your videos are awesome I still watch your videos and they are cool ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I've been watching you for years, and you are the reason why I started creating flipbooks. I'm happy that you released you're own flipbook kit, and I would totally buy it.
You should make it reusable like the parts that are broken off make those detachable
I know plastic is way cheaper, but key organizers already solved that problem. They come with metal studs with male threads on one sides and female threads on the other making them indefinitely extendible. These could be easily done for regular binding screws as well.
It would be WAY too expensive. Plus snapping my screws is fun 🤩
Sunflower yellow would be perfection! I’d also love to see gradients, like a set of blues, or shades of pinks that fade to yellow, etc!!
I got one of your sets about 3yrs ago, I am sad to say it does not get the use it deserves. I've made a few flipbooks with it, but not as much as I had hoped, I'm going to pull it out and start doodling again, BUT if I can set some money aside to get this I will to continue supporting you! I am so happy to have come across your page!
I think a have an idea on how to make a third binding screw for your kit. Maybe you can make the third one with a lot of segments that kind of looks like the snapped screw pieces of the snap screw and if the segments are made out of magnets i think that you can make it shorter and make it longer when you need to put more pages. And if you could sell some segments alone I'm sure it could be really useful for buyers. I hope this was really helpful for you.
That snap-screw design is absolutely genius!! I may want to pick up a kit sometime, it looks really fun! Also, I feel like some sort of orange color could be nice for a next color, it would look really good with the blue!
This is exciting news!! I can't wait to order a few sets of these snap screws (as I'm still in the process of drawing my 700+ page flip book that will have to be separated into sections), but I was concerned about the binding. Now I don't have to worry! And I'll also be ordering more packs of the flip book paper... I'm almost out and I still have 2 chapters of this "story" to turn into a flip book! Congrats in your new endeavor and looking forward to more of your content!!
Oh, wow!!! These are so cool! I’m really excited to use them! Earlier I used to add extra pages at the end to fit the binder, but these just change everything :)

That’s true. Technically you could by using a stud on each end of the leftover screw price
That would be a great thing imo considering this system, by nature, creates plastic waste that could cause microplastic-type problems.
Andy, can you make an Andymation T square? I got my own T square and cut it in half so that it just barely clears the pegs on the lightbox and, thus, can be moved freely in any position on the page. It’s really helpful to me, but I think it would be awesome if I could get an Andymation brand T square as such.

I recently moved and lost some stuff and was going to buy some more, That screw is so cool and I remember adding like 10 pages that said "FIN" just to make the flipbook fit XD. I wonder how the new screws will hold up over time. Have you had them UV tested, or done some type of testing for what'll happen as they age? Plastics tends to get brittle as it ages.

Hey Andy, I like the color you picked out. Other colors that might be cool are turquoise, green and red. The screw kazoo is a fun name for that tool, there also needs to be a kazoo flip book.🥳 Kazoos are totally under appreciated!😔
I remember being really young and finding your video on RUclips, and immediately getting out little cards and starting to animate! Obviously, I had no idea how to use one or anything, so I binge watched your channel and showed my whole family until I gave up ;-;
When you do release the snap screw refills you should definitely make an orangey yellow, because I know people (myself included) that really liked the look of the brass screws. And after that red would be nice to have all three primary colors. Wouldn't it be so cool to have the screw color match the theme of the flipbook? Imagine like a fight scene with red screws.

Glad to hear that you will be offering the replacement screw packs separately since I have one of the original kits. You mentioned black & white, but the demo is blue. I would like to get them in the demo blue color 😀
Andy you inspired me to make flipbooks a while ago so my mom ordered me a little kit on amazon (sorry it wasn't your kit I didn't know you had a kit at the time) and the kit didn't come so I looked on my phone and searched "flipbooks" on the apps and something came up. "FlipaClip" I have been animating on FlipaClip for 3 years now because of you. so thanks. and I am definitely buying your kit.

the only thing that's missing is an adjustable stand for the light pad, I'm not sure if i'd be comfortable since it's so small but it could work

I really like the way the brass screws feel, they've been great, but the limitations are annoying.
Given your goals i think it's a great solution, I personally just don't like plastic very much. Really cool design though! I'm sure I'll get some at some point!

Also, You should also add screw heads/tops whatever you call them separately or just like the amt of how many times you can snap the screw it self(including bottom pieces) that you can screw onto the pieces you snap off so then they dont just go to waste if you make a very small one and have enough paper to make multiple. Unless thats already the case here then dont mind me lol. Although this an older video, Totally getting one of these and the new ones if theyre out(checking the second I post this comment)!!!

Brilliant invention! Have one question: for the segments that are snapped off, are those no longer usable at all or is there a way to use them to hold other flipbooks? While I am partial to green and wouldn't mind if the 'screw kazoo' came in that color, I think sticking to something neutral would be best.

This is a great invention and I can’t see why it wouldn’t work in metal. Would be handy I feel. For makers and such. 👍🏽
1) It would be nice to have the screws offered as their own product, the same way you have the refill paper packs
2) I could see the appeal of different colors but... it seems cost prohibitive. It seems like it'd be less hassle to encourage people to customize/paint the screws themselves to match their flip books. Of course having custom colors out of the box is neat, but the more you diversify, the more stock you have to hold onto. Though, if instead of offering individual colors, having a grab bag/assorted set sold as a pack might be nice and possibly less expensive overall than trying to offer individual colors.
3) I helped kickstart the original flipbook, unfortunately it's in a box waiting till I have more time and space to dedicate to having a physical space to create art, but I'm so glad to see you doing well and that the flip books continue to be a source of creative inspiration for people :3

Hi Andy. Can you make a 1997 Paddington bear flip book. You are not allowed to you any source of light but you can still use your flip book paper

I bought the signature flip book kit and it costed $73 on Amazon i would say it’s worth 50 but it’s pretty good
I think this is great but the only thing I think might be a problem is if you want to re-add length to a screw and might not want to buy more. Because you might break the wrong length or something. So maybe having the little length pieces be re attachable would be nice. Honestly its not that big of a problem just a thought. 👍 keep up the great work

This is great. I wish you created a program where the customers can send back the broken bits. So it would be properly recycled. I'm guessing you have calculated that most of the people will end up breaking away a part of it for sure. These tiny things look like the plastic pellets that they use for injection moulding. I don't know if it would work. This way you can clean up any waste the product creates. I'm suggesting because the material is so basic.
