@@brionyb4007 for what I've seen in the vlogs that they do they all have the same wholesome energy the Daniel's, pascal, nico, David and Kevin look and feel like a family I've been a fan since 2014 and with sushi you could see the separation between the guys and him I'm happy to see all of them doing what they love
Nico did for EC what Ramos did for Lorna Shore, as shockingly different as they are. I find the fact that both bands are signed for Century Media as another common aspect hilarious.
As a German it amazes we how these guys are loved internationally and how people like Finn help them (not only now but for quite some time now) to gain even more attention.
It really makes sence that EC and Sushi parted ways, Sushi always said in interviews that he's more of a punk kid and it shows in Ghostkid. He's much more serious and darker, like really really dark and EC is colorful and fun. They're not that different musically but theme-wise, if that makes sence. I love both bands, but to me it's sad that Ghostkid hasn't that much succes.
When Nico joined it seemed like they were finally able to let the beast out of the cage. They popped off and their potential was realized. I absolutely love the creativity of them and the production value of their videos. They can be silly and fun and serious if the situation calls for it but whatever they are doing at the time, they always go all out
There is definitely some very special chemistry between Nico and Kevin that has elevated the entire Band to a different level. You can see it in the face of Kevin when he talks about Nico that they get along very well and how happy he is about that connection they have as musicians.
I've been following EC since Muffin Purper Gurk in I think 2012. So glad they blew up, because in Australia they were unknown, and I spent so many year's feeling like I was the only one that knew they existed. Sushi was such a great front man. However, I am glad he left the band. The band was being held back by the clash in creative direction. EC and Sushi have both leveled up so much in their music quality after separating, and having their own creative freedom finally. Ghostkid is such a damn good project with great feature artists too.
Love seeing bands containing people like Kevin, I think having this type of mentality played a huge role in their success. Always self reflective and humble, and meanwhile so much creativity.
Maybe also interesting for you, Finn: The first part of the Hurrikan music video is a parody of German Schlager artist Michael Wendler who had a hugely popular song called „Egal“ (basically translates to „Doesn‘t matter“) in 2017, which became a meme. But when the Pandemic came around, he turned into one of the most influential conspiracy theorists here in Germany and therefore became a big punchingball for the internet.
Damn dude, outstanding video Finn! I really enjoyed the conversation and look forward to the Electric Callboy video. Thank you for being a part of a team of content creators (along with Nic Noc and Tank the Tech) that introduced me to this fabulous band!
Damn he seems so humble and nice about the entirety of the band, their fans and all that comes with it. Love to see and hear it. Glad they are growing.
Electric Callboy has been one of my top favorite bands since their original EP (Monsieur Mustache Vs Clitcat) in 2010, and I’m from Central NY! I found out about them during a late night at a friends house in Mass. On an Xbox 360 music streaming app, the electronic music with the metalcore just grabbed my attention immediately, I absolutely love them and am just so happy for them to finally get the recognition I believe they have always deserved, I’d show everyone I knew EC and they finally made it!! 🎉❤
Having listened to the album...it is great, no weak tracks for me but I like many genres and I think if u are the same it will appeal, if you stick rigidly to a genre or two u may not like it, I am not sure what Finn will think of the album but I have a feeling will not be his cup of tea at all
About beginning - "Ratajczak" is Polish surname, which is funny plot twist for me, didn't noticed that. It comes from Polish old word "rataj", which means "A hired worker in a manor, working mainly on the land" (historical stuff). About interview, great stuff, can't wait for them in Poland!
As a German I'm glad they finally get the attention they deserve especially as a german band. As we all know Finn is not really a fan of european music so it's exciting to see him making a video about Electric Callboy.
Hey Finn, firstly congratulations for the video, I found u to be an excellent host, waiting for the interviewed to finish the answer, making very well put questions. Thank u very much for this, I like EC very much and I'm glad they are receiving this much attention.
Such a great interview; I really enjoyed hearing all this behind-the-scenes info, and Kevin is absolutely right about authenticity being more appealing than production levels.
So glad I found this band. They are amazing & have really brought so much joy to me life. As someone with a tendency to be a bit too serious, theirs is exactly the kind of music I need sometimes.
I love EC. They’re funny, personable, and can write a serious song when they have to. Also, hearing Finn say that he’s followed them since “Is Anyone Up?” is kind of neat. Kevin was surprised to hear you say it lol
I love you for doing this interview with Kevin. Thank you so much, you are an À class interviewer. Electric Callboy has become my favourite band and it was great to hear all about the band from its beginnings to now.

Hypa Hypa and all the reaction videos that came out as a result of it helped me get through lockdown during the pandemic, and I was stuck in a foreign country at the time.
Its fucking cool when my favorite music vlogger is hosting my new favorite band. Just seeing Finn and Kevin onscreen simultaneously makes me so happy. Love my NRW boys! Kevin talked about Rammstein and he's spot on. I just saw Rammstein last night and the night before in LA and there are so many parallels.
Vlog with subtitles...(Kevin at maximum gibberish level here), (I can't even begin to translate what Kevin's saying), are some of their best subtitles😁
In listening to different interviews, it became pretty clear that the split with Sushi was the best thing for all involved. The latter mentioned going through an album like Rehab for the money. It was a job at that point. And that album really does sound like the two sides "meeting in the middle" with what they both wanted. Resulted in some good songs, but it definitely wasn't the most acclaimed from their audience. Both parties are getting to do exactly what they want to do. And EC especially are bigger now than I'm sure they ever imagined they'd be.
Ugh had to look into it after you said they haven’t toured in US in years. And sure enough the arent coming to the agora Cleveland AGAIN! Was really looking forward to seeing them in a couple weeks :(
Great video, Finn. Thanks a lot! To give you some content: The Ruhr area, where the band is coming from, can be compared to the Rust Belt in the USA. There were a lot of coal mines and steel plants but the whole thing went downhill since the 1960s.
Finn you are the best in the business at what you do, and I absolutely love that you put out this interview. That being said I hope your dive in to Eskimo Callboy "Electric" goes deep because their music has been different yet so good for so long. I first listened to them because I'm a fan of cover songs and the deftones and that's what I thought my own summer was, it was not. I played it like 3 times in a row and was literally like what the actual fuck is this awesomeness I'm hearing and have followed ever since. When hypa hypa dropped I would play it on my TV for everyone that came to my house because the video itself is ridiculous and the music is fantastic and i think new listenerswould agree. Then love/hate comes out and the new listeners were expecting the same type of song when really it's kinda their old style and imo a straight up banger. But yea man keep up the good work and I can't wait to see what you have to say. The new album is great, but so are the albums past that I hope new fans check out because when you see them live it's not gonna be hypa hypa every song, they're gonna punch you in the face and make you dance and laugh at the same time.
Schlager not being cool?! I wish. People my age and especially younger people are totally into it. Maybe this is a city vs. rural thing? Yes it is definitely older people music, but the younger generations are no strangers to it.

Jockey. Its translates to Good Jockey. Unfortunately, that is not what his name means. It translates to plowman for "Rataj" and "czak" means farmer. So Plowman farmer
Hi. The surname Ratajczak is Polish and indicates descent from the Ratajs - landless peasants toiling in the lord's fields and obliged to perform military service.
FYI Ratajczak is a Polish last name, not so odd for us but I agree Its hard to pronouce if you doesn’t know the language. Probably Kevin’s ancestors were Polish emigrants who moved to Germany
Pretty rare that you see a German being funnier than an American from an American's point of view. Maybe it's due to me living in Germany for a few years, but Kevin is so damned funny. Finn, you missed half his jokes dude!
