I'm autistic, very sensitive to sounds so I was really trying to find reviews that show how the keys sound when typing- so THANK YOU for doing more than pushing two buttons I appreciate it immensely.
JA! Lekker man! I am in the market for a new keyboard. Am considering the Corsair K60 Pro RGB but then I come across the VATA that costs R600 less. AARRGH!!! :D Only issue I have with the VATA is that I am afraid that the switches are going to be too loud?
Been looking at reviews for this keyboard, and frankly most are poorly done. Thank you so much for doing an outstanding job here! Nice clear voice-over, hits the salient points of the features, a great clicky sound test (that I can hear!) and excellent camera work. Keep it up!
@@melvinharris7859 ah ok I see. Mainly people bring their own keyboard since the ones at work are so bad. My parents bought a separate one because the keyboard they got was filled with crumbs and was clacky as hell
From watching videos, some of the lower priced Redragon RGB keyboards tend to overemphasize the red, green, and blue. For example, when using a rainbow roll, you will see large sections of RGB, and very little colour (ex: yellow) in between. It appears this keyboard has much better colour reproduction across the spectrum.
@@apollenn no it didn't take 60 seconds, people want to see the review, they don't care about where its available for others as long as its available for them
Quick update: There's now a Redragon K580-Pro Vata, it's an opto-mechanical keyboard (optical switches with a mechanical feeling). There's only a version with Brown switches, but I believe it's hot-swappable just like this one so you might want to get that one instead if you're looking to get a new keyboard and like this one.
Just got it. Really nice for the price point. However, I do recommend buying a wrist support. Redragon also sells one really cheap at around $11. I'm typing with my Redragon K580 VATA right now.
I think it depends on your preference and budget. Personally, K580 is already good enough for me because it has most functions that other high end keyboards have: RGB, macro keys, and media control. Maybe Alloy Elite feels better when you type? I am not sure, but I don't want to invest too much on a keyboard so I picked this one. I never owned a mechanical keyboard before, so this is my first. However, I don't feel 'good' when I type, but you get what you pay for. I recommend you to watch both reviews then compare. So ask yourself if you want to spend extra bucks for a keyboard that probably is as amazing as the reviews say it is, or buy one that has most features that other expensive keyboards have. If you have $, buy Alloy Elite. If you have $, but don't wanna invest too much, Redragon. Friendly tip, think of how long you will have this keyboard for. All this should help you to judge. Hope it helps!
After doing a ton of research looking at specs I was very disappointed with big name brands 200$ and less... Most of them didn't have on-board memory and none of them had double-shot keys. Also having non standard key caps makes it impossible to go crazy and customize them in the future.... So i took Redragon Yama :) Thank you! @@tyson0819
@SharronC Yes, but the Vata feature-wise is a straight upgrade over the Kumara for a price to feature ratio that made more sense than the Kumara's bigger brother, the K556 without being as big as the Yama.
I bought this keyboard and it is really good the only thing I really didn't like was the slight curve in the middle of it but it is really a minor inconvenience and all around the keyboard is really good quality. This review made me buy the keyboard
thanks for doing the sound comparison at 3:24, i just ordered my first mechanical keyboard, and i would have gone insane if I had gotten this with the blue key switches
Thank you for this key comparison. I love loud clicky keyboards and everyones switches seem to be different. These blues sound great. I've also been interested in seeing what the other keys sound/feel like as well so I'll grab this and see if any of the colors appeal to me and then just order those if for some reason I go nuts and decide I don't like clicky anymore. My Blackwidow 2013 Ultimate whatever is great, but the symbols don't light up and in the dark I can't program well with it.
wow its hot swap able key switches, for that price its awesome, u can easily buy gateron or kailh box switches, those switches are not too expensive on alixpress
it is hot swappable but unfortunately it wont work with any other switch except Outemu switches because of the orientation of the leds on the pcb. I bought kalih box switches for my Redragon keyboard but they just wont work the pins bend and the switch wont sit flat because the led is in the way
@@sonicxburner I plan to replace my K580's switches with outemu purples as I've read they have more tactile feedback compared to browns, while having a slightly heavier actuation force which I prefer, as browns almost feel linear when typing very fast and hard on key presses
WHICH RED DRAGON KEYBOARD HAS THE BLACK KEYS? i have a logitech g910 and i dont like using logitech software so its stuck on blue backlight which sucks. my fault that i spilled coffee in it but now some leters double type. time to change. this looks awesome.

Nice review!! But i have some questions if you can help me... I'm looking for a hot swappable keyboard, so that I can replace a broken switch with another (take one from the keypad for example). Is this keyboard the best choice? I don't care about wrist rest or media keys. Ok I like the volume wheel, but it's not a deal breaker if it doesn't have. Also, I don't want a tkl keyboard, I prefer blue switches and I like the rgb spec. I have found this keyboard at 60€. I want to spend around 40-70€ max! Oh, and I would like it to be watersplash-proof! So, is it the best choice for me, or is there something better or cheaper for what I ask? Thanks in advance! ^_^
How do you get the switches out?? I’ve been trying with the puller but they don’t budge...the white tab on the side just broke off and the clear plastic bent. Any advice??

I've had it now for about 5 years now. Works perfect, really happy with it!😊
I see a brown option on Amazon for $7more.. I like the brown sound more than the click
@D4RK×D4NTE but not swappable with other switch
Buy mechanical with akko switch
I am not saying optical bad but mechanical nore customizable

Black: generic office keyboard sound
Red: getting there
Blue: ( ͡◉ ͜ʖ ͡◉) 👌
