During the production of my new track, I had the idea to use the SOMA Pulsar-23 as a pure effect machine.
I recorded vocals and vocoder voices and was curious to hear how they would sound when processed through Pulsar.
I had only heard the Pulsar effects with its internal synth voices, which were mostly percussion sounds.
When I processed my voice with the effect unit, I was delighted by the sound quality of the Pitch Shifter effect.
The possibilities to modulate the various parameters of the effect unit are great and provide many sounds and textures. In the video, you can hear some of it, but of course, there is much more to discover.
My sonic journey with the Pulsar-23 as a pure effect processor has just begun.

Thank you for sharing this! As a long-time Pulsar owner I had no idea it was such a powerful external fx processor.

This is super interesting to hear. Soma are doing some great work. Saw Victoria Shen last weekend and when her Lyra 8 kicked in the sound was epic. Nice post. 🖤

This was something I ran into also on a pairing with the hordijk benjolin as a source of voices...I had to jump back and forth between the percussion though. Any external voice works wonderfully because of the sheer access to the filters and fx...by the way are you offsetting the drive in the beginning ?? I can't see some elements on the left that could have been used.at 8 min or so I hear it so it Has to be offset or attenuated... I didn't hear its inversion or anything which requires a feedback loop..great Job as usual ...

I use the attenuator to control the output signal of the LFO and SHAOS.

@anthonyrothercom that's what I was thinking.... following the yellow and white cables it works wonders...

At 5.02 , I think he is using the attenuator in the wrong way , isn’t it ? The output of the attenuator is the left pin ?

that's an expensive effects pedal! 😆
