Wen Ning one of my favorite characters on the whole series and tbh I hate how he was treated. I could feel how awkward he felt in almost every scene it broke my heart how they never noticed him and treated him like a servant. I was so happy when he finally went his own path in the end though cause lord knows he deserves it.
i think it just seemed like he was a “servant” in a way because he felt very in debt to wei wuxian, so he constantly followed him, doing anything wwx asked bc of this idea of being “in debt” to wwx for saving him and for wwx’s initial kindness and just him looking up to wwx. so it seemed like he played the role of a servant but i don’t think wwx necessarily saw him that way, because before he let him go, he told lan zhan that he didn’t think wen ning should follow him because he’s not his servant, and he should have his own path. but he was treated badly by everyone else like some kind of killing machine :(!

actually love this ship more than any other ships in mdzs....cuz you know the feeling and responsibility that wei feels towards ning is just so pure and innocent and LEGIT....like it makes sooo much sense, the back story is just amazing! And it's sooo deep and the understanding and respect that they have like the density of the partnership and faith is beautiful. Like wei was the 1st person who talked to ning in a good way, and ning was so glad and happy and greatful for it, he put so.much faith in wei that he literally went against his whole clan just to save him, laid down his life, never second guessed wei.
