It's amazing how the sketch is already so well defined at 3:00 with the light on the face and nose. I love it.
Thank you Noe! Happy that you like it.
Yes, I agree.
The best issue of all is that everybody can follow your greatness while you´re working. All other sketchers show their work in speed of light: White sheed - plop - Painting done! Health (to all you´re loving too) & Happy New Year
Thank you! Best of the new year to you and yours as well!
Always looks Soo easy doesn't it? Incredibly difficult, fascinating and a reason to just bee. :) My favorite living artist. And who doesn't like a side boob.
Haha! Thanks Brandon
Beautiful..You’re a charcoal magician Jeff
Thank you John.
Fantastic work again, great watching you work, you always make me want to draw
Thanks Michael, always appreciated.
Thank you for wonderful video.
Fantastic Jeff, as always. I've been waiting for a figure drawing. Can't wait to sit down and follow along. More of these, please.
Thank you Benjamin, I do intend to do more of these.
Wow! Amazing art ability my friend, love it. Well done 🤩👍💯
Your phenomenal!
Thanks Diane!
Amazing 😊👌👌
I have a request, but first I’d like to say how great it was to follow along and watch you build this drawing. I found the whole process very intriguing. I was hoping to ask you to make a version of this video with a voiceover talking through your process. It’s clearly evident the changes you make and when, but it would be excellent to hear about your thought process as you move through a piece like this. And perhaps slow it down a touch, I watched this on .75x so I could keep up with your hands. Thanks so much. It’s a great learning experience just to watch.
Thanks Thomas, although I probably won’t re-do this one, I’m going to try and focus more on real-time video with commentary as you suggested moving forward. The demos are more straightforward to produce but I don’t think they’re as valuable as a learning tool. Thanks for watching and for the comments!
I always live watching your videos I learn so much!
Thanks Delia, I love hearing that :)
Amazing as always! You have just the right video every time to solve some or the other problems I face :)
Thank you! Glad that you find them useful.
Very good worm
Simply amazing! Really loved the paper too :)

Thanks for watching!

Thank you David!
beautiful!!!!
Are we allowed to ask which charcoals and paper you use?. I am so impressed. Thank you.
Hi Sarah, The pencils are Generals, the soft vine charcoal is Grumbacher, and the paper is Strathmore toned tan. Thanks you for the message!
Awesome! Please, share more
Awesome
such an inspiration! thank you for sharing
Thank you Dana!
I really love your art, they all Great! I can't wait to be a great artist like you. Thank you! ✨
Thanks so much Rhoselyn!
Note to oneself : human body is a combination of balls and cylinders receiving less or more light. From this point, I think I can learn how to draw human figures with accuracy. Sensitivity and talent are other things. For them, I watch your videos.
Were you using reference or imagination? Even though I have zero drawing experience or practice I can just pick any subject and sketch really good to the amazement of my artist friends the trouble is from imagination suddenly it's like I have never held a pen/pencil in my life before. Art like yours is what sparks me to learn art. 😌🙏
Thank you. I used a photo reference for this and usually use some kind of reference, but I used to draw a lot of comic book type sketches from imagination. Glad you liked it!
fantastic! 🇲🇽🤙🏻
😇Nice... 👍

Please, change the sound track.
it's a very beautiful woman in heart and in a picture of love with sweet 💓💓❤️ with love to you
Thanks Tony!
Hi Jeff, do you have a favourite fixative to recommend? The vine charcoal wipes off if you look at it the wrong way! Thank you so much for your videos - I enjoy watching you at work, it's very soothing and magical.
Thanks so much! I haven't used very many different fixatives, honestly. I've used Krylon workable and final fixatives for years, which I like. Good luck!
@@JeffHainesArt Thank you, that's helpful.
I found your drawings on Instagram and I am a huge fan of your work. The fact that you are showing the process as well on youtube helps so much to improve, please keep it up! One question: what kind of white charcoal pencils do you use? I just bought some and they are so hard, they don't do anything except destroying the paper. Any advice what I have to look for?
Thank you! I use 'white charcoal' pencils made by General's. They don't really feel like charcoal, they're a bit waxy like a prismacolor pencil, but they do the job. I tend to not use much white, and I make an effort to avoid the white and black mixing together because it can take on a pasty appearance. White chalk is another option. Hope that helps!
Hey can I ask what is your technique or what your charcoal drawing style is Called? It would really much helpful 😁
It probably falls under the broad term of ‘contemporary realism’, although that's not specific to charcoal. I often refer to it as expressive, dynamic, and/or impressionistic.

Thanks although Im in hyper realism charcoal I found your art as simple and satisfying to see and I loved it a lot because of the simplicity and I admired it a lot too. Thanks again have a nice day!!
I need to learn how to use charcoal.
I'm struggling to monetize my channel, thank you for helping me.

In order to concentrate, I just muted the video. Much better.
That was the first thing i did 😂 don’t like the music but do like the view.
👍Cool work
Hi
I also draw, in 3d
if interesting ,☝
👍👍👍❤👌
Could not stand the absurd soundtrack. Thumbs, and cancel
I would have thought, in this day and age, all computers, tablets, and smartphones would have a way to mute the sound.
Hm?Bla-Bla No Wery Good! 1_10= O
The music is horrible. Find some public domain classical or Pink Floyd-ish royalty free stuff, please. Tweaking synth dials while holding one key down only is entertaining if you're on Psilocybin, which most of the audience is not.
Yeah, I get that. Finding royalty free music that runs for 9 minutes is a chore to find, and it's usually weird ambient background stuff like this. I suppose I could always encourage people to eat some shrooms before watching...
Awesome 😍
I would pose
That’s cool
Great art friend
Thanks for excellent video friend
With best of wishes and love friend
Perfect ...
Рисунок хорош, но не хватает в нём одного - объекта, с которого вы рисуете, хочется видеть, каков он, как тени там лежат и как вы их изобразили, и много чего можно понять и оценить в сравнении с моделью.
Thanks for the suggestion. :)
а рожки где и хвостика тож нехватает
Спасибо большое. Получил огромное удовольствие смотреть как работает мастер. Желаю вам успехов и процветания.
Thanks so much!
Love it
Hi Jeff do you know a good source for good photographs for drawing, portraits and figure?
For figures I use Posespace.com, check them out. I also use Unsplash a lot but that's more general photography so you'll have to search for a good portrait reference. Good luck!
You are amazing 🥺♥️
Very nice...!
Masterful
Beautiful.
So inspiring. Nice!
Brilliant!
Simply incredible. I wish I could be that talented. The defining moment for me was the dark line and highlight that created her left calf, thigh and knee cap. You rock!
Thanks so much! Glad that you enjoyed it. :)
