Glad you addressed the light on the switch, almost didn’t get this for my zero turn because I was afraid of battery drain. Good video sir.
The switch is wired backwards, just change the power wires around on the switch and the red light will only be on when the switch is in the on position
I need to try this. My first install attempt ran my battery down overnight without the light bar even being hooked up yet. My switch has a little blue light.

Hey just a tip cross the chains on your trailer so the chains catch it :).

If you wire a relay up to the stator, to have a switching ground, you could have the switch light run only when the engine is running. You could probably use the smallest relay you find also since thats a small led light, so it would be a cheap upgrade.

I have some of there light cubes there good for the price but the mount tend to break to vibrations but they have good customer service and you can gets new mounts free

I understand that it needs to be connected to a grounding spot in order for the light switch to be on, but do you need to leave it disconnected at all times if you do not want it draining power unless the switch is flipped

That's where I mounted mine. That way the rack is still usable and so is the light bar.

Hey here's a sugestion if you want to light up the underside of your atv buy the LED GLOW brand. I use it on my atv. It changes colors and has a wireless remote to control the settings.

just wondering, but have you tried connecting the switch backwards from the way you have it now? I've gotten switches that were labeled wrong or assembled wrong or something but when I hooked them up backward the switch only lit up when turned on.

Can those brackets be mounted anywhere on the light?? I ask because my atv has holes in the bracket 12 in use apart for a really expensive factory light bar, I can use a bigger one this way.
Question, why did you mount the light on the back of the rack?
You can't put anything on it now and unless you run it angled up, it'll shadow on the rack!
Why didn't you mount it underneath the front bar?

How did you connect it? I have red and black on led bar and yellow, blue and black on my quad lights. I want to connect it to the high beam.
3dmachines when you grounded the light bar did that mean that your 4wd and your n and r will not light up? or only for the light bar switch

This video would have been rely helpful when I was installing my 20 inch nilight bar haha
check the wiring on the switch. it might be wired wrong. it should be to where when the light bar is on then the switch is on. the middle should be load then one of the outsides will be negative and the other positive. might be worth double checking

Why didn't u hook up the light bar to your key to let the colour of the button come on and a back up light for night while having your headlight switch to turn on n off the light bar and the switch to turn only the light bar on
How big of a hole did you have to drill for the toggle switch? Did you need to secure it in any other way?

for my light bar on one of my quads i put a splitter in the ground and then a switch so you can switch the light on the switch on/off and also a high and low beam on the existing head lights on the quad so when it use to be on low/high beam high beam at the moment is low beam and the light bar comes on when it on high and another switch to turn high/low off! its complicated but pretty easy to use ;)
3d you can wire it so that the light only comes on when you turn the switch on :)

I have to admit I went on ebay and found the exact same light bar by coping the name and this is actually a pretty good light bar
I miss my Kodiak!!! I had an 04 Kodiak 450 which was just about identical to this except the old Kodiak didn't have independent rear suspension. I think that's why they replaced that model with this. This has got to be an 06 or later.

Needing some help just installed this an I'm only getting power to the red light switch when I flipp it on an the light doesn't light up. I read somewhere that the wiring for the rely might be wired wrong any help would be appreciated?
Some wire has to be wrong, whether it's polarity or something else. It's hard to say without seeing the switch. Have you been able to get it figured out yet?

Get some unibits. They drill nice holes in plastic. If you used a relay, the light will only illuminate when you power the light on.
3D Machines why did you go for a utility Quad rather than something like a rapter 700R?

Hey 3DMachines, for my b-Day coming soon I plan on installing a light bar on my 1986 YZ250. Besides the light bar, mounts, and bolts... what else woukd I need to get the light bar to work? I doubt they make one that is specialty made for my bike because of it being 30 years old.
You will need a lighting stator. That bike will only have a stator designed to run the engine, with no power outputs for lights or accessories.
I have a 12inch 180w ligtbar, what relay do i use, i lost it?

Hey what size whole saw bit did you use for the switch?
I wired mine to the hi-beam circuit so I can switch them on or off as
needed. These require way less current than the incandescent so I'm
actually saving power when I use them BUT I can still turn them off and
just use the original incandescent as needed since the LED bars are no
legal on the roads and there are a few places where I can take my atv on
the road.

@@amitor1234 trial and error. Mine hooked up to the white wire for high beam. But it's way easier than doing everything he did. Not saying he was wrong. Just way easier. 2021 400 king quad
