  • Have you ever wondered why Power BI report developers need to create their own date table EVERY SINGLE time they create a report?
Well, the short answer is they DON'T!
You can streamline the process by creating a parameterized, M code-based Date Table in Power Query and it will be super flexible, so others within the organization can fine-tune to their likings.
It is especially true when an organization follows a different financial calendar or a special, like 4-5-4 week calendar. A more senior developer can create the dates themselves and all the other columns to use in reporting.
This step will ensure consistency across all reports and guarantees that all the time intelligence calculations will work fine.
If you want to learn how to do all of that, watch this video!
    Have a good one,
    Roland

    Good afternoon from Belgium.
Why do you need an end date?
Why not let the table end with today, and just use a startdate ?
