Generally speaking, hands in the pockets is a disarming, non-confrontational posture. Being able to afford someone the ability to simultaneously utilize body language to communicate "I'm not a threat, just a dude chillin" while also being able to perform offensive preemptive measures is without a doubt a force multiplier.
