Designed by Simonis & Voogd Yacht Design, the Leopard 50 was built to replace the award-winning Leopard 48. This model is the first Leopard available in two versions: with and without a flybridge. Particular attention has been paid to safety by keeping ample space between the flybridge and the boom. The Leopard 50 provides a maximum of 3 outdoor living spaces: the flybridge, the aft cockpit and the forward cockpit.

My biggest criticism is the modernistic sharp square corner cabinetry. It looks like contractor grade spec home finishings. I am sure it's better grade than that but it doesn't look like it. Just a personal preference but for a yacht, I like warm nautical rich wood furnishings. I do like the layout which seems far better than most. Love the upper deck lounging area. The other thing is that why do boat builders think it's mandatory to house 20 people on a 50 foot boat? IF I AM AT DOCK I could invite some friends over for a dinner or cocktail party, but when we're done they can get the hell off the boat and go home. I can't imagine sailing for any length of time with the number of people this boat can accommodate unless I'm chartering it. But for personal use with some actual destinations, I want fewer cabins, more work and storage space and a seriously protected helm. This sounds like a lot of criticism but I really like the boat. I am sure it could be outfitted to my liking, but I don't understand why boat builders advertise to people who don't really go anywhere.

lol if its the wood esthetic of an old pirate ship/ half a century old English pub that you are looking for, then buy a 30 year old boat. or commission a new one with a dedicated interior designer that specializes in that. By the way, you referring to what you've stated here as 'criticism' and not 'opinion' is quite the confession of character, what a way to render your thoughts here completely redundant.
And here I am thinking "oh finally, good riddance to the old wooden and rounded decor of years gone by"!!!
The L48 was already a class leader. How do you beat it? With the new L50. Wow, congratulations on an awesome design. Makes me proud to be South African!

Very nice presentation and an impressive yacht. Music was fine... I did not have same experience as those complaining about it.
Hands down the neatest catamaran that I have seen thus far, as this is a huge step up from the Leopard 48, big shoes to fill and I would go so far as to say that it will or already has just done that. Just one thing would the Leopard 50 be able to do away with the forward cockpit and have this converted into extra storage space? I would say that the more focal places would be the Aft cockpit and the Flybridge areas.

Why are railings on cats and monos so low, it looks about 30” to 36”, at that height a average person would flip over if run onto it, like in bad weather. Construction codes have a 42” high railing to avoid that situation. Is it aesthetics? I would think that safety would be more important than looks or even expense.

IMHO instead of the VIP cabin I would recommend a utility cabin option, essentially a man cave sea garage space for onboard maintenance handy in the middle of nowhere.. beautiful boat

I would love that option too but there is the option for a utility space in place of the forward cabin in the port hull instead.

nice boat with a thoughtful offshore layout, but it's so heavy, like most production boats weight is the least important factor.

beautiful cat with great accommodations! my concerns, forward stair at the galley, doesnt look like a BIG mantus will fit & i dont like the placement of the aft berth topside hatch- marginal ventilation. she is awesome though-

I agree this is a beautiful and effective catamaran, but you need to get a new host and invest in a better video. Independent videos do this video much better than Leopard.

IMHO : expensive dedicated space being allocated to bedrooms/staterooms maybe better utilized with multi use functionality design, why not have murphy bed or futon functionality added to optimize precious space
Have you fixed your horrible production issues and actually stopped screwing your customers? There are a lot of better boats out there.
The music! Oh god the music! Someone please shoot me, I can't take any more of these review videos with horrible music! Haven't they heard that Silence is Golden? I like the boat and mostly like the review, but from now on every RUclips with bad music gets a downvote. It everyone would join in maybe these guys would put a stop to it, especially when you want to hear the comments but really, really want to mute the sound. Down Vote All Videos With Horrible Background Music!
