Liked your video. I I don't think Ive ever seen any better quality footage from a camera than yours. And when you add that to the beautiful river you were at its a home run man. Love seeing that gold too. Great video, good work my friend.
Well as always another awesome video Jerry , it was nice seeing you being kind to the Scorpion and simply moving it to another location. Out of the many many many gold prospecting channels out there and I've watched most of them , I've only subscribed to what I feel are the very best channels out there including my absolute favorites--- yours and Gary's top my list of my 5 favorites. Has the Mining Hawaiian gotten himself a channel yet ? That kid has an awesome personality and it would be great to see him throw it out there on RUclips, he would be a definite hit . Have a great time in your next adventure with The Nugget King- aka Gary , as always best regards from Lloyd way up here in Ontario Canada.
Yes sir! Thanks for the input and kind words, JC has thought about a channel and who knows possibly one day he might look into it, he sure is a likeable guy!
I agree. JC is a great guy and it's about time he had a channel too. You can see more of JC's prospecting adventures in some of the videos posted on my channel and the Topcat Gold Prospecting channel JC loves prospecting and his enthusiasm for it is contagious. He's also a damn good mother lode chauffeur and does an excellent raven's call.
Geno from Reno nailed it, boil hole rock. I have one that is the size of a bowling ball. I was a lot younger and stronger when I packed it out! Always looking forward to your videos, great job!
Thanks Gary! The feeling is mutual, your Monday videos are to me now what Sunday morning cartoons were when I was a kid! We need to get back out once it dries up, I have a special project I'm working on I need to tell you about also..
That's a beautiful spot. A nice picker and some quality solitude on the river. Careful with those wheelies there, Cowboy. It makes me nervous to see one of my main suppliers of high quality recreational mining videos hurtling down the trail on only one wheel. Thanks for another fine video.
great vid as always☺ getting pretty addicted to the content, narration and most of all the characters.. the gold is just the icing on the cake! keep up the great work Jerry⛏☺
Hey Jerry I just want to say great attitude and thank you for sharing these sick videos. I've been living up and down California state my whole life, cities, beaches and forest. Told myself I wanted to start gold panning one day, then stumbled across your videos and now I'm feeling pretty stoked to try my hand at this adventure!
Hey Jerry love your videos man. Hey so I live in Placerville and started prospecting about a year ago. I was wondering what the possibility is to get out with you sometime and get some gold? It would mean a lot if we made that happen. I actually know Bennet. We didn't hang out or anything but I was friends with his sister. He is a good dude.
DannyDboY Hey Danny thanks for the support man, yes I hope to get together with a bunch of people soon for a group dig event! We have one scheduled near Downieville I’ll next July, I am trying to do something sooner as well.. Keep an eye out for details to come.
I was metal detecting on a river crossing where the serpentine had been cleared by vehicles crossing for years and found 7 grams of half gram sized pieces. Hundreds of people had Crossed there and never thought to check it out. The gold was still stuck to the soft serpentine when I pulled it out in chunks
Jerry, I know the noise of the rushing water is close to deafening to you because you are right on top of the water. But I gotta tell you, it sounds wonderful in my living room. Then you show us that beautiful waterfall that is moving quite a bit of water. It looks almost like a picture that someone painted. IF ONLY I COULD HAVE THAT WHOLE AREA IN MY LIVING ROOM, I’D BE THE HAPPIEST PERSON IN THIS ZIP CODE.!!!!
That sphere is a natural thing it is the other half of a "boil" hole. You know the perfectly formed holes in granite rivers and streams. That rock was probably a big boulder at one point and got stuck on a depression in the bed rock but didn't stop moving it spun and tumbled for ages making a hole that is smooth and round like a bowl or a tubular hole. The boulder usually just gets blown out or crushed by bigger rocks
I hope you do! Its not very hard just keep watching videos, get a pan first over anything and learn to use it, once you find your first piece you will be done for! :D
@@californiamotherlodeprospect hey Jerry is there a like an elevation that I should stay below when prospecting? You know like if I'm up past Camino Highway 50 is that starting to get too high. Or up below the dam at Union Valley Reservoir? I remember as a kid a person found a marble-sized nugget up on the silver fork of the American up above kyburz. Was pretty cool to see him find it. But that was thirty plus years ago

Faith in your detecting goes a long ways. Nice to see you wearing headphones. Turn down your sensitivity to just a little bit off 0. You will still be able to hear pieces of gold the size of a flea. Relax don't whip the machine. Very important to have your coil wire 100% solid meaning connect your coil so your coil can go either way and keep your winnings all the way tight so it's not loose with tape all the way up to your box that way you get no fault signals. There's many more techniques that will help. This will come in time keep the faith and you'll get it. Good job on the videos.
The gold bug 2 is a impressive machine. My buddy finds gold to small to even call a picker. I have the AT Gold which is a good machine but the gold bug blows it away for the small stuff. Boil hole rock.
I have a Fisher gold bug 2 that was used in this video, it is a vlf machine. I also use a whites tdi which is a pi machine and works better overall I think but this GB2 works great in the right locations.
You should watch videos on HARD ROCK mining/detecting, especially the guys over in Australia. Those dudes have that shit dialed in, while using detectors in the gold fields.
maybe the gold is inside the bed rocks. targets then not finding your target in your pan tell me crush the bed rock and then pan that. bet there's gold inside that bed rock
The gold here is coming from a hydro wash directly above, the bedrock has been exposed to the hill sliding down for so long, the placer gold is being deposited in the cracks as it travels down most likely.. This detector is very finicky with hot rocks as well.
Hahahaha love your channel but had to laugh at the cold water bit. Better not come and cross any of our northern British Columbia creeks or rivers. You’ll probably spend an hour trying to warm up them pups
