  • The Bettendorf Family was told by CPS they would be able to adopt a sibling group of five children. CPS later changed their mind and adopted out one of the siblings to a different family.

I was 13 and adopted at 16 nad now I will be 28 years old in July.

Even a fosterparent can experience that CPS will ruin their life. Happened to a fostermom here in norway. Sweetest woman ever, and they tried ro remove her fosterchild, with threats and all. This is a woman who worked in the mental health field, with a good income and a calm and kind nature. Cps always * finds something wrong 😵😖😖

Well, did they win custody or not? I would like to see the conclusion of the story.

I grew up in a family of 6, have my own family of 7. The older ones helped the younger a lot. CPS, on the otherhand, definitely has too many in it. Smart people put more money in a business making money and less in one losing money. Why do some people think it's not smart to put kids into the families that are proven to work!?

In Canada Child Protection or CAS is a corporation, they fall under the corporations act. They are funded by the gov. based on statistics, and also get private funding. These people depending on position get paid $50,000-$150,000. This is an indusrty and our children are the commodity. These children are placed in Child protection care, which makes CAS, CPS etc..responsible for the welfare of that child.

In most cases, that's true. Occasionally, it's not. And neither of us know whether the kids in this case were rightfully removed or not.

Yes, but they are taken away because they are being abused or neglected. So, the choice here is - 100% chance of abuse or neglect in the natural parents home (thats why they are being taken away, right) or 5 times the chance of getting abused of that of a stable, normal household (which they are not in)? What will it be? 100% chance or elevated risk? Just a little reality check for ya

They are "adopting " for the money.... These people have way to many kids and are being so ridiculous. Their messy house and filth. These people should stop making fools of them selves. Seriously.

L Faith You obviously have no clue about adoption or anything pertaining to it..... "adopting for the money"..... educate yourself before making ignorant blanket statements

There are no juries in CPS proceedings because CPS proceedings fall under civil, not criminal law, and they don't deal in criminal penalties (i.e. jail time).

Yeah watch the family's youtube channel the house is so small and messy and the adopted mother and father are unemployed. I guess living on the state checks.could be why they want more children!

11 already is too many. It sounds like the foster parents that had this child from birth adopted her.
