Indeed there's nothing new under the sun,the more things change the more they remain the same .
Our senators are not impartial as was witnessed during Kawira's last trial. They voted uniformly on all charges which means they were under some remote control and did not follow their conscience. And as you say, already 11 have taken a fixed position.
This makes me conclude that both parliament and senate are a grouping of the same category. These are people who after being elected, become of a status that detaches them from the ordinary citizens. They begin to travel, eat, stay, educate their children, get medical care differently from the ordinary people.
I personally think we need to get rid of one of the houses and replace it with people's representatives who will be drawn from all walks of life and who will maintain their work stations but convene every 4 months to audit our parliament. They should not get a salary, but an allowance that is equal to the allowance of an average earner, when that earner travels to Nairobi.
These peoples representatives can help arrest any excesses by parliament in time. Waiting for 5 years is too long
