I don't understand at all what basis determines that Gachagua is worse than Ruto -- Ruto told the US ambassador in 2009 that the January 1, 2008 KAG Kiambaa Church fire was due to "an accident, during preparation of lunch". Yet by that time in 2009, a lot of details regarding the attack were well known.
So as far as I'm concerned, Ruto's tribalism is far more _lethal_ . Gachagua has never publicly threatened members of "alien" ethnic communities like Ruto publicly did, on live TV.
We all know that Gachagua has _said_ things that can count as tribalism, but Ruto _took action_ and made ethnically skewed appointments in his government.
When it comes to corruption, Ruto's record is_far_ longer and wider. He's been in court several times regarding this, and was convicted once. He surrendered a title deed for grabbed govt land to the Kibaki govt in 2003.
KCAA said clearly that Weston Hotel sits on on land that was grabbed from them, and Weston attempted to grab a school playground to build a parking lot, which we all saw on TV.
Ruto (as sitting DP in his first term) publicly denied any link to Weston Hotel ownership for over a month, until a video that proved otherwise surfaced online.
The list of scandals that Ruto has been involved in is too long to write here, including ~ 7 land scandals. He came out tops in a 2018 countrywide survey on Kenyan leaders perceived to be most corrupt.
All are not good leaders and should _all_ go, but Ruto is _far_ more harmful than Gachagua. It's not even close.
I am a Kalenjin. Morara is saying the truth. I will stand by it. I am ready to vote for a non Kalenjin in future provided they are of proven high integrity. I regret who we have now in the presidency.
