On the one hand the Sword Maiden is Bel's goal, the only reason he keeps adventuring, but on the other the only resistance he's offered as to why he wont bang that totally not a 14 year old is that she's "too good for him." The handling of romantic relationships strucQk me as odd, particularly this season. We got an entire arc of a lady seeing past her self worth issues as a sex worker and her interaction with a hero that thought she was still worth saving because that shit doesnt matter, a person's a person and Bel has a crush so the power of boner prevails. Only for them to turn around and say she was never actually a sex worker, she only thought she was cuz kids are dumb and dont know how sex works? Not comedy gold for sure, but what does that do to the credibility of their thesis? Does that fact that she's still "pure" or whatever mean she's only NOW a candidate to join this maybe harem? Is that possible cue for the protagonist only or are they assuring part of the audience that fox girl "isn't like those dirty ACTUAL prostitutes, so it's ok for you to like her too." I wish I could just take it as a gag, but as we all know, fucking Japan man.

She is a litteral goddess who offers up a love that transcends time and space. A love that is eternal. We're all used to the concept of unconditional love being at the very height of what is attainable. Hestia offers a love that is both unconditional and eternal. That alone by its very definition takes all of our romantic notions about what love is supposed to be and blows it completely out of the park. The kind of love she represents is something that transcends human perceptions and understanding. It is the concept of a truly pure and perfect love. Something not of this earth, something that only exists in ideals. Just imagine if you will, a perfect being offering you unconditional love, affection and protection for all of the ages and incarnations of your existence. It ties in directly to the most fundamental fears of our human condition, the thought that ultimately we are all lost and alone. Now imagine all of those fears alleviated once and for all. For all of eternity. That no matter what hardships or fear you'll ever face, you'll never again have to face it alone. No greater thought could possibly be more soothing to the soul. That alone is why Hestia is Bestia. It's both what she represents and what she is. Perfect, pure, endless love. Nothing and no one else even remotely compares. Now fucking fight me. :)
Jokes aside, I honestly really enjoyed this analysis in good character design (both visual, personality-wise, and in relation to story). It is, unironically, great research for what makes a character well-made versus mindless eye-candy/fantasy-pandering. Thanks!

Real talk. Hestia is "up there" in terms of waifu material because of her characterization. Like an actual wife, Hestia displays incredible devotion to our lead character. It's a pretty unique thing in anime, IMO. Yes there's jugs, the sandaled feet, and a lack of bikini line, but it all comes together in her characterization.

I remember seeing Hestia once upon a time and being interested in this anime. I forgot about it until a week ago whe I saw it was on Crunchyroll. I watched the whole thing not even realizing it was an anime from 2015 and that a new season just started airing like 3 weeks ago. I was just expecting another isekai type anime with a waifu but just 3 episodes in I was hooked due to the whole thing, not just the waifus. 10/10 waifu, though, that was not up for discussion.

My favorite moments with Hestia are probably the ones she proves she can be mature, like when she calms down her jealousy over Bell when the situation calls for it, or she misunderstood something, when she during the middle of season two, tried to be a responsible goddess (although the writer decided she was trying too hard and should rely on others, which has its merits too), and when she acts like a parent overseeing Bell's growth, and puts her own wants aside. Of course these moments wouldn't stand out so much if she didn't usually act the way she does... we men of culture enjoy a sense of contrast in women.
I really like this show idea, and I definitely want more. Hestia is the best waifu in DanMachi (She’s goddess of the home, for crying out loud), and you did a great job of explaining why. Doesn’t matter to me who you discuss in future videos so long as you make a good case for them; keep up the good work!
I mean the heart wants what it wants but... There's better girls out there. Raphtalia's kind of plain, and the only thing even remotely worth remembering about her is that she's a raccoon, which isn't a very common thing. But aside from that... She's kinda blandly sweet and devoted. Also she has the body of an adult but the series explicitly says she has a child's mind so that's a bit of YIKES to me.

Her incarnation would be however long she's been down form heaven, assuming she hasn't reset that clock by going back and forth or by having her incarnation destroyed. But if we're talking about how old is Hestia, the goddess of family, the home, the hearth, etc., then we'd need to know what year it is in our world during the series. If it's current day, then she'd be at least 2500 years old.

Real talk. Hestia is "up there" in terms of waifu material because of her characterization. Like an actual wife, Hestia displays incredible devotion to our lead character. It's a pretty unique thing in anime, IMO. Yes there's jugs, the sandaled feet, and a lack of bikini line, but it all comes together in her characterization.

Hestia is the virgin goddess of the Hearth and family. She is responsible for looking after all gods, goddesses, and humans while they are in their homes. All she did for millennia was watch humans in their homes, she should know quite a lot about them. Great video though! As a mythology nerd I should check this one out! I also am a big fan of physics! I’ll pay close attention to how that ribbon works.

I remember seeing Hestia once upon a time and being interested in this anime. I forgot about it until a week ago whe I saw it was on Crunchyroll. I watched the whole thing not even realizing it was an anime from 2015 and that a new season just started airing like 3 weeks ago. I was just expecting another isekai type anime with a waifu but just 3 episodes in I was hooked due to the whole thing, not just the waifus.
10/10 waifu, though, that was not up for discussion.

My favorite moments with Hestia are probably the ones she proves she can be mature, like when she calms down her jealousy over Bell when the situation calls for it, or she misunderstood something, when she during the middle of season two, tried to be a responsible goddess (although the writer decided she was trying too hard and should rely on others, which has its merits too), and when she acts like a parent overseeing Bell's growth, and puts her own wants aside.
Of course these moments wouldn't stand out so much if she didn't usually act the way she does... we men of culture enjoy a sense of contrast in women.

I always considered Hestia's dress and ribbon to be metaphysical a part of her, and thus inherently magical.
I really like this show idea, and I definitely want more. Hestia is the best waifu in DanMachi (She’s goddess of the home, for crying out loud), and you did a great job of explaining why. Doesn’t matter to me who you discuss in future videos so long as you make a good case for them; keep up the good work!

Raphtalia's kind of plain, and the only thing even remotely worth remembering about her is that she's a raccoon, which isn't a very common thing. But aside from that... She's kinda blandly sweet and devoted. Also she has the body of an adult but the series explicitly says she has a child's mind so that's a bit of YIKES to me.
