      It’s annoying when you didn’t have it before but having it after your braces are removed. My orthodontist said it’s because of how I swallow. I push my teeth while swallowing n because teeth’s are in a moving state they flare up after a while. I used rubber bands for that so many times but it wasn’t permanent solution my ortho didn’t gave me retainers so they flared up after I got my braces off. Sometimes I’m regretting that I had braces in the first place but they were so crooked now my only problem with them is that gap, flare up.

Well turns out even with the "extra room" she ended up with none of her wisdom teeth surfacing, all 4 eventually ended up infected and had to be removed. Typically when teeth are pulled, they are the premolars (aka bicuspids). On the upper jaw it's usually the furthest forward premolars on the left and right side. Due their figure-8 shaped roots they tend to be slightly more problematic with people being able to keep them clean just under the gums.
    Removing upper teeth can narrow your upper jaw which can also narrow your nasal airway too. That's why there is a trend to avoid removing teeth if it can be avoided.

    • @ToothCracker
      @ToothCracker Год назад +1

      @youropinionsareshitandsoaremine 352 A lot depends on your age. Ideally the dentist recognizes these issues when the patient is still pretty young. Then you can orthodontically guide the shape of bones as they grow. Later on in life it's harder to move the bones since they are really fused. For older patients you can still reposition the bones, but more often than not it involves surgery.

    • @ToothCracker
      @ToothCracker Год назад +4

      @Unknown Alien There are some dental specialist who focus on tryng to open up the airways. There are even specialists who treat patients who have similar experiences as you, where they will orthodontically reposition the teeth, and place implants to help the jaw bones to achieve a more open wider arch shape. If you live in a pretty big metropolitan area there's a good chance that there is a specialist like that who is not too far away.

      It doesn't work if you're over a certain age, because the bone won't grow in anymore. So they'll shift, but it won't be permanent because no bone will grow to fill that space. So get them fixed as a teen! I had an expansion done on both top and bottom as a teen and it actually has fucked my bite up enough I'm now having to do remedial work to realign my bite and stop jaw pain. Specialist has to extract one tooth to have space to basically yank my teeth back round to one side to align correctly and fix my cross bite. Be wary who does the expansions because it can actually make things a lot worse if done in the wrong scenario! @@morplagro1545

I recently got the braces off after 3 years and it feels so odd to have my teeth feel smooth 😂. It’s not too bad, and any good dentist will work with you (they worked with my PTSD, and bundled me up like a burrito with a blanket lol) and they numb your mouth for it. I've wasted so much time and money on absolutely useless appliances, it makes me so mad. For some reason it seems that a lot of orthodontists either don't know about MARPEs or just don't offer them. I hyper fixated on it though and got Invisalign. Bottom teeth were perfectly straight but they decided to do the bottom too because I had a slight overbite and it would help somehow? Anyways, the orthodontist shaved in between my bottom teeth and was talking to someone else’s as he was filing between my teeth. I immediately saw a difference- my teeth looked thinner. I still to this day can see that my bottom teeth are thinner than they’ve ever been and it bothers me. He told me it only shaves millimeter and it would be impossible to notice.
    Also after 2 months post treatment never wore the Invisalign again. Biggest waste of 2-3 grand ever.
