@@DeathofSnoopy its never a guaranteed that the wisdom teeth will come in even if teeth are removed making room for them. Well turns out even with the "extra room" she ended up with none of her wisdom teeth surfacing, all 4 eventually ended up infected and had to be removed. You know about Orthotropics and mewing? I can kinda get what your saying. I also had 4 premolar extractions but not wisdom teeth, I'm trying to save them from being extracted. My smile kinda look weirdly small and my tongue has less space. Just hang in there I guess. You could maybe get implants. As long as you don't get sleep apnea and breathing issues you might be fine. On a British clinic's website, they actually mentioned a girl who was Refused Non-Extraction by an NHS Orthocuntist, (who insisted that she have the "4 on the floor", and that the "Extraction-plan" would take around 2 years) They said that luckily she and her mother found them instead, and that they straightened her teeth Non-Extraction with DAMON Braces in apparently only 10 months (under a year)
Typically when teeth are pulled, they are the premolars (aka bicuspids). On the upper jaw it's usually the furthest forward premolars on the left and right side. Due their figure-8 shaped roots they tend to be slightly more problematic with people being able to keep them clean just under the gums. Removing upper teeth can narrow your upper jaw which can also narrow your nasal airway too. That's why there is a trend to avoid removing teeth if it can be avoided.
That's what happened to me, and it's way harder to breathe now. I had a bad Orthodontist though, who didn't know which way was up. My advice is to do extensive research, and multiple consultations before you make a decision on who you go with.
@youropinionsareshitandsoaremine 352 A lot depends on your age. Ideally the dentist recognizes these issues when the patient is still pretty young. Then you can orthodontically guide the shape of bones as they grow. Later on in life it's harder to move the bones since they are really fused. For older patients you can still reposition the bones, but more often than not it involves surgery.
@Unknown Alien There are some dental specialist who focus on tryng to open up the airways. There are even specialists who treat patients who have similar experiences as you, where they will orthodontically reposition the teeth, and place implants to help the jaw bones to achieve a more open wider arch shape. If you live in a pretty big metropolitan area there's a good chance that there is a specialist like that who is not too far away.
I had my teeth like that after braces. I talked to a specialist about it and she said to me its gonna go back over time cuz my lips gonna push it back. Months later i can absolutely say she was right, my teeth look way better now. So if you have this problem you dont have to panic
Please young people do not let any one take out any of your healthy tooth for minor ajustments; some times is not worth it. Any healty tooth is very valuable like gold.
I had 4 teeth removed too, then had braces for 2.5 years. I was terrified at the thought of having 4 less teeth but you wouldn’t even notice. I don’t even know how I had those teeth before, theres no room for them 😂
I was victimized by "extract and retract" ortho. I am having it reversed at almost 40. My airway was severely compromised and my face was collapsed. I would take flared teeth any day over my current situation.
I seriously find it disgusting that extractions are still happening, just EXPAND EXPAND EXPAND. Seriously so dumb. Treat the cause of the problem not a symptom.
It doesn't work if you're over a certain age, because the bone won't grow in anymore. So they'll shift, but it won't be permanent because no bone will grow to fill that space. So get them fixed as a teen! I had an expansion done on both top and bottom as a teen and it actually has fucked my bite up enough I'm now having to do remedial work to realign my bite and stop jaw pain. Specialist has to extract one tooth to have space to basically yank my teeth back round to one side to align correctly and fix my cross bite. I encourage you to see research orthotropics and this person named Mike Mew and his practice called mewing.
No, you don’t need extractions. Only orthodontists who are lazy and don’t wish to put in the effort to make space need extractions. Open coil springs should make enough space. Furthermore, after 1 year all of my teeth are in line.

@@TaxingIsThieving1- they said seventh grade and we don’t say that in the UK. 2- I don’t think the NHS offers palate expanders much. Most people have to go private for them which costs thousands. I've wasted so much time and money on absolutely useless appliances, it makes me so mad. For some reason it seems that a lot of orthodontists either don't know about MARPEs or just don't offer them. I'm so glad I decided to get a second (and third) opinion this time because otherwise I still wouldn't know such an amazing thing even exists.
@klinta937 may I ask how old you are? And did you have a surgical procedure to assist with the expansion, or only the screws put in? I got MARPE when I was 26 and it failed for me, apparently i needed a DOME procedure as well. MARPE doesn't seem to be very successful in adult males.
@@joashmathew7454 Sure! I'm 33. I didn't have any surgical procedures but the orthodontist did drill a few holes after installing the MSE to help with the expansion. I had braces for 3yrs when I was like 14, because of flared teeth. And when it was removed nothing changed💀 What a waste of money. So we decided to avail braces again from a different dentist when I was 18 or 19 yrs old. And they removed 4 teeth which is the mistake of my 1st dentist (they didn't remove them). Now I'm 22 and I still have them right now and it's expected to be removed very soon🥰 So far my teeth looks good so I am excited!

My smile kinda look weirdly small and my tongue has less space. Just hang in there I guess. You could maybe get implants. As long as you don't get sleep apnea and breathing issues you might be fine. I'm not any expert by any means. You could take consultation from an orthotropic professional.
They took 10 from me. And 4 of those were permanent teeth.

They said that luckily she and her mother found them instead, and that they straightened her teeth Non-Extraction with DAMON Braces in apparently only 10 months (under a year)
@@luke14946 the actual type of braces dont matter. Its the actual doctor whos doing the work.

What do dentist do if there's a crowed mouth? Are ya just screwed?

I was victimized by "extract and retract" ortho. I am having it reversed at almost 40. My airway was severely compromised and my face was collapsed. I would take flared teeth any day over my current situation.

Hi I am in the same boat as you and looking for ways to reverse extraction retraction. What treatment plan are you undergoing in order to reverse it?
It doesn't work if you're over a certain age, because the bone won't grow in anymore. So they'll shift, but it won't be permanent because no bone will grow to fill that space. So get them fixed as a teen! I had an expansion done on both top and bottom as a teen and it actually has fucked my bite up enough I'm now having to do remedial work to realign my bite and stop jaw pain. Specialist has to extract one tooth to have space to basically yank my teeth back round to one side to align correctly and fix my cross bite. Be wary who does the expansions because it can actually make things a lot worse if done in the wrong scenario! @@morplagro1545

He did mention that there is no guarantee it will work for everybody, especially males because their bones are generally stronger than womens, but he showed me some succesful cases in patients he's worked with, and I basically said "take my money!" 😆
Omg your expression is incredible 😅
That orthodontist should refund her money! I would be pissed.
I wish my ortho was more for no extractions. I had to be really stern with my no extractions thought. I just didn’t feel it was super necessary for me and I think my teeth are looking good so far. 11.5 months in, 7 to go. my midline is off slightly though, so I’m hoping he will tell me more about the shaving in between option you brought up. He’s literally in there for like 15 seconds though so I can barely even talk to him. And then all he says is “trust the process” and “no I think it looks fine”. Thinking about going to another ortho for another opinion.
My orthodontist said they don’t pull teeth anymore and mine look like that and I just got braces😭😭
You can avoid flaring and extractions with palatal expansion
girl i know how ya feel i had to get my back on and have jaw surgery for that shut they did lol😂😂😂
Her teeth look fine. People worry about the dumbest shit.
That messed up mouth in that picture you showed looks better than mine😩😂
Bro i swear you must be the best dentist ever 😂💖💖💖
flared teeth actually make the upper lip look larger and fuller so it's a give and take, it might be not the standard of beauty but it could actually be a viable option for someone who has a very thin upper lip.
Lmaoooo this comment is insane
@@Diabtuss it's true..you can look it up
@_thathoodwitch lmao imagine having no lips so you consider having flared teeth as a bonus
@@jeromebrown8253 lol

The "PEHHHHHHHH" is too iconic
It's adorable
suddenly i don't feel bad abt the four teeth i got removed anymore, wish they had explained this to me better tho cuz why i am just NOW finding out this
Bruh I got my braces off today and they kinda look like that 😳😭
Damnn im sorry bro 😭
@@imgonnatouchyhu lol it’s not that bad but it’s not that noticeable when I have my retainers off but I have to have them on all the time and I can’t close my mouth all the way 😬
@@fluffycat3007 oh I'm so sorry! :( hopefully you'll get it fixed someway somehow! Very sorry ❤️
@@imgonnatouchyhu Awwe thank u sm 🥰❤️😜✌️
🥲
Should I have my teeth removed for a YT video? 😳
No 😭
Yeah what about NO LOL
Do not do this please we aren't worth it 🤣
No please!
Are you joking??😂
Yes!! Thank you for that last follow up at the end. Overcrowding is the only reason I know of for the removal of otherwise healthy teeth.
Teeth are neat, and absolutely incredible! Did you know coffee does immense damage to your enamel? It’s on par with citrus acids, only beaten out by fructose sodas. Drink your go go juice with a straw to avoid exposing your teeth to it! Once enamel is gone, it’s gone, and that’s your natural tooth armor my friends.
I had braces 2016 to 2019 and I had my four premolars removed. I knew flare was a result of NOT having teeth removed, so I made sure we agreed that I needed teeth removed. Now. No flare.
I've always wondered why they felt the need to remove 4 perfectly fine teeth before I got braces #themoreyouknow
My canines were growing from below my nose, like, above the whole row of other teeth. They were sticking out so graphically that my upper lip had two sharp bumps.
I am so glad they pulled out my premolars! I now have perfectly beautiful row of pearlies :)
Yup I got 12 teeth pulled for braces! remaining baby teeth, 4 molars, and then wisdom
Is it fine now
I’m a dental hygiene student and I find your content very informative, but also entertaining! Thank you 😁
You don’t “HAVE” to remove teeth. You can use an expander and create space for you teeth.
Yeah, that's what I had to do before braces. It was a quick surgery to screw in a palate expander which I had to manually tighten over a few months. It hurt like hell but it worked
@@Cult_7191_old surgeryyyy? There are also the ones that band around the molars and not into your palate
@@Cult_7191_oldit didn’t hurt for me
that’s what happened to me but i still needed teeth removed 😞
Not always an option....
Her teeth really don’t look bad at all. It’s not something I would notice if I was standing beside her and she was smiled. She looks very pretty.
Her teeth look perfectly fine. WTH
Exactly. People are just finding ways to spend money. I’d say if that doesn’t affect her breathing or oral health, it’s cosmetic. Reason 100000000 why US healthcare spending is through the roof.
Now me personally I would be crying my eyes out if I had those
@@PTunnelly My teeth turned out just like the girl’s in the video… for about 5 years that I’ve had my braces, I’ve been extremely insecure about it. It isn’t just about my appearance but it’s so difficult for me to bite down properly because my top and bottom teeth don’t align which has led to severe tmj issues, and I choke nearly every time I eat food. I have trouble closing my mouth and I can’t even smile comfortably. It’s kind of offensive that you say it’s cosmetic because for some of us it is absolutely not. I thought that braces would fix it but they didn’t. Extractions are my only option.
No offense but I disagree. It's really obvious why someone would be unsatisfied with these teeth, and while kindness is always great, playing dumb about things that people are already insecure about isn't going to convince them of anything.
@@dinodare1605 yh I have naturally straight teeth and if being brutally honest, I would be so upset if they weren’t
got 4 teeth taken out (my sister was the one who took em out cuz she was my dentist for a yr or so before she moved) (she cried when taking em out cuz im the baby of the family 😭😭) just got one teeny space left to close n i got an elastic for one side today the pain is beyond anything ive had in the whole treatment 😭
Well, my teeth were crowded too so my dentist did a jaw/ palatal expansion and one molar extraction. However I got all my wisdom teeth as an adult which pushed one of my incisors out so we had to do the other three extractions. On the plus side (after nearly 9 years of braces and the works) I have super pretty teeth
So strange that no one else talks about palatial expansion! It makes so much more sense for your health to expand first .
Bruh the image of too much crowding is literally what my teeth look like right now.
Thanks for making my insecurities worse
get braces?
@@stopsatmikey what a very incompetent thing to say. You do realize not everyone had the insurance or the money to get braces right?
@@l3LACKMASK713 it's not like you've to pay it right away. you can do it monthly or per check-up too and get a discount too if you insist.
@@l3LACKMASK713 I think it was a question... Not too much now.
@@Berriyes you’re speaking nonsense
BRO, IF A DENTIST IS SAYING TO REMOVE TEETH TO MAKE SPACE GO TO SOMEONE ELSE. Reason why some people’s teeth are crooked is because of a narrow upper and lower jaw and braces isn’t going to fix it it’s only going to tip outward to make them “straight”. Find someone who could take care of the jaw to make space for the teeth to straighten out more of how it is supposed to.
You can still do pallet expansion, best solution, mom had it done in her 50’s and had severe overcrowding and the expansion made her face look better too
“Wanna go horse riding... you can be the horse”
I'd ride that horse ;)
bro i swear to god lmao
You wrong for that 🤣
That's a good pony I'd lead her to water
Pony ride, only $100
I work in dentistry and we take out teeth all the time, you just gotta find a dentist who does extractions
Or a dentist that knows what he is doing, they are not all the same
Definitely find an oral surgeon to remove teeth and NOT a dentist. Thank me later
I work in dentistry• what Elle means guys is she sits in a desk and does simple paperwork that requires no practician skills. I hate peoples who say I work in dentistry but in reality they just sitting in a desk working around real Dentists.
BETTER TO DO PALETTE EXPANSION INSTEAD WITH AN APPLIANCE, CAN ALSO BE DONE WITH ADULTS, REMOVING TEETH WILL NARROW THE JAW AND AIRWAY
MY ORTHODONTIST DID THIS TOO! I’ve been so self conscious about my flared teeth ever since i was a teen after my braces came off. :( I had them on for THREE years man and he never brought up the idea to reduce the crowding and now my teeth are ugly and i’ll probably need braces again in the future 😀
Omg im gonna get braces and I HOPE i dont get anything like this😭
I got mine on a couple months ago...I'm scared now ..
Make absolutely sure they're gluing a wire to the back of your teeth when you get your braces out! It will save you a lot of heartache
