Sounds like Monroe, and Grayson are more like the place I’d like to be, further away and peaceful, hopefully places like this will still be affordable when I retire 🙂

Enjoyed the review. I grew up on the east side of Stone Mountain (Gwinnett) and my parents are still there. When we move back, my wife wants to be close to them but I’ve heard the schools are not what they used to be. I still want to be a reasonable distance from the airport, so Mountain Park or Lilburn is where I’m focusing for Parkview or Brookwood. At the same time, somewhere like Grayson or Monroe would probably be more my speed. Property taxes are also a concern, as I’m anticipating a hike from our current situation. Duluth would be a good possible option, but might be a stretch financially. Cumming is definitely out 😂.

Great point on school ratings. There’s a lot of outdated info online. GA schools for the most part, is an upgrade compared to south Florida schools. Lawrenceville has been diverse and easy transition. Feels like this city has a lot of growth incoming. Would’ve loved Buford but I dodged a bullet. Taxes there are unfairly high. And traffic makes it a no go for me. Mall of GA area is always a mess.
