At least you hit water !! Great job guys !! 🙏💚👍🇬🇧.....Simon
Yes! We are very thankful for that. I may have cried if we had to pull up 18 ft of pipe. 🤣
Congratulations on hitting 1000 subs! That is exciting! Hopefully you guys can get more water to come up. Have you ever heard of the emergency kit diy well kits? Look them up if not. They send you everything you need for the well.
Thank you!
I haven't heard of them, but I will definitely look into them. Thanks for sharing!

@@LivingtheHightLife your welcome
A check valve would’ve helped
Have you done one successfully?
I’ve watched many hand dug wells like this but nobody says how you pick where to dig?? Just pick a spot?
We used two copper rods to try and devine water
I'm in south Carolina too, upstate, but I see the sandy soil...what county was that in? I know shallow wells around 15 foot or lees are common in Marlboro and Dillon counties...I was just wondering?
We are in Marlboro county. We couldn't actually get it to function well. We took a long break on it and are trying to figure out what we should do differently to get it to work better
Ok, if you're near Wallace, you might have to go deeper...nearer Blenheim, and Tatum, I've seen folks with wells from 12 ft to about 30 ft. With only 2 inch wells, with plenty of flow....I'm with you on the sand screen silted up....have you tried blowing it out with air or water pressure to improve flow? The water static level 5 ft from the surface is a good sign of enough water there.
Also, think about dropping a shallow pump on 3/4 pipe and see if you can get the flow better after blowing out the sand screen...forget that pitcher pump until you can figure out your flow rate or you've got a cracked section in your drive pipe which is allowing your pitcher pump to suck air.
Try a long hose on a pressure washer down in there, run it up and down a lot in the area of the sand screen.
If you haven't fooled around with it in a while, see if the screen section has silted up in the bottom by measuring the difference between the known depth and actual depth and blow it out, if it's short.
A lot of wells in Marlboro county are shallow with good flow and small in diameter!!
Worse case scenario: pull the sand spike out, put it on some PVC and water jet it down with 2 inch PVC within a 4 inch PVC casing then quickly install your sand spike arraignment..... If you're in Wallace and the close you get to the NC line, forget the water jetting...it's simply too much gravel in some areas up there...ancient river bed. However if you're on...say about the beennettesville side side of hwy 79 eastward towards Dillon, you should be in a great spot for a shallow well...the closer to Tatum, clio, Blenheim the better!!!!
I thought you could get hand driven well pipe at TSC. I’m sure an electric powered jackhammer would be faster.
No TSC around here carries it, and wouldn't order it either.
@@LivingtheHightLife that would make me shop elsewhere. That’s not a good business practice on their part.
Is that white glue basically white plumbers tape in a jar?
Yes, it's a liquid teflon that works a little better than the actual teflon tape. It is called Pipe Dope .
