    So basically:
    -State Prison = Public School
    -Federal Prison = Private School
    -House Arrest = Home School

      No stuff there! I worked with a guy in an office setting for 4 years. There were about 80 employees in this call center. He was the quietest person there. One day I got to work and he was gone. The girl he had been dating had broken off with him. He had broken into the Post Office next door to our building, trashed it, then sat down to wait.
      Turns out the background check the company did on him didn't pick up on the fact that he had spent 10 years in prison prior to being hired!. With his girl gone, his finances in a mess (don't know why that was), and management breathing down his neck about his job he decided life was better inside. When asked why he chose the Post Office he replied that Federal Prison was a "country club" compared to State Prison.

      @@ahcomcody6409 right, and if the crime is too big you go to supermax which they didn't talk about, essentially military run prisons where you spend 23 hours a day in a cell by yourself. For 1 hour you exercise, in chains, by yourself. No one has ever escaped from a US supermax. The Alcatraz escape isn't counted because of modern definitions for security.

    First strike against accuracy before the two minute mark with the claim that prison overcrowding "required the intervention of outside help" from private prison companies. That step was not necessary and has not solved overcrowding, especially as contracts with private prisons depend on 80-100% occupancy in close to half of all cases.

    • @davidgordon702
      @davidgordon702 Год назад

      That is something that never should have occurred. Commercializing state prisons. Sure, that saves the state money, but there is one main reason for not doing that. Like judges being payed off by a large corporation ( lets say, Lowe's ) to sentence a certain number of convicts to their privately owned prison, to perform a massive amount of nearly free labor for them. ( I would say that $ 1.00 an hour, is nearly free labor ) Prisons being privately operated , are just not a good idea. Well, they are for the companies that run them. They save a massive amount of money on labor costs. Paying someone $1.00 an hour to assemble a certain item for them. Rather than paying an actual employee working for them, $ 17.00 to assemble the same exact item. This is something that should NOT be happening in the United States. I am sure that there are quite a few other reasons for keeping prisons out of the public sector. But the one that I raised is probably what would occur the most. A bunch of nearly free labor for major corporations, already making mega amounts of money. And essentially privatizing slavery.
