She should have just called in every day saying, the Land Rover is not running... No one would have doubted it for a minute. It's like getting a week off work!
You should do a video with Mary driving every car you own, just to get her perspective. Her insight is invaluable and she is very entertaining. Thanks guys
Good idea, but add that she will sing a song of her choice which she thinks matches the car’s personality. For that, I would go to the ATM and pay cash!
Mary is a breath of fresh air with her creativity in automotive world of reviews. Really enjoyed it and she sings really well!!! Very talented young lady. Keep her.
Mary is just a treasure! You guys really lucked out with her and Jen. I don't think there's anyone on the team as entertaining by themselves as Mary is and she has a great way of explaining ,"Hey, I'm not a car person, but this is what I think" We also need to start a drinking game for whenever she says Robust.
When the Google viewership studies show people are becoming more interested in the presenters than the products, it makes sense to bring her on. Just read the top comments on most videos, they always discuss the hosts.
Well there's your problem right there :) - in my 6-year P38 experience, anything less than premium gas (US) was an immediate check engine light situation. Preferably 93 if it's there.
Love this car review style with Mary at the helm! Getting bored of all the same 'ol reviews from other car channels full of dry specs and extreme condition testing. Give Mary a modern supercar for a week next.
As someone who used to daily drive old MG’s, I’m used to tinkering with quirky vehicles. An old Rangie wouldn’t phase me that much. Nice to see more content from Mary, she’s entertaining, good humoured and easy on the eyes.
There is definitely, something about Mary. Such a fun, bubbly personality. Keep them coming, I also enjoyed the GT/CS video with Jen and Mary. Kudos, TFL.
Window controls are in the middle because the range Rover was made in left and right hand drive and this was to save costs not making 2 different window controls
Thats not correct. Many vehicles have center console mounted windows controls. I love them. Also you can mount the same switch on the left door or the right door, so you lost all logic immediately
Don't know about "Injured" but when I saw "butthole" I just assumed "Butthole Surfers" and said to myself that Mary has great music tastes, especially after hearing you sing to Queen
What a fun, refreshing episode. Well done! That chime sounds like an aircraft stall warning - How appropriate for a Range Rover, or a Land River…. Or for that matter any Bristish car.
Owning a RR is an adventure... I had a Ninety - three LWB and loved it... owned it for twenty-four years... still miss it. Maybe I will get another one...
I got seven minutes in and I haven't seen an ounce of evidence the RR is unreliable. To most people unreliable means it doesn't start, breaks down, transmission breaks for no apparent reason, breaks go out - frequently, etc. Slow acceleration, mushy brakes... not a reason to tag something as unreliable. At least you said you liked it.
I love how the start up is like 1980's missile command sfx package for a movie, scary and intense, something you need to wake you up in the morning, better than a cup of coffee.
"inured" and "butthole" are definitely words id have programmed into my radio if I let someone borrow my car. I laughed at this review. It's so random. Good vibe. Thank you!
I'm in the UK I've had loads of these. When running right they are a lovely car. The best one I had for reliability was the 2.5 diesel, well it was a BMW engine. They still look a classy classless car. Love Mary's approach to presentation, hopefully we'll see a lot more of her.
If you disconnect the wire connector at the base of the driver's seatbelt latch it won't yell at you at startup. I daily a 2001 P38, BTW. They are built like tanks and will go the distance if maintained. There's a guy in the UK that has over 500K on his. They are much, much better than their reputation would suggest. Mary is a natural on camera. Definitely do more videos with her!
I love Land Rovers, but I could just never warm up to the P38s. The warning buzzer/chime drives me up the wall, even the one 'beep' it makes if you buckle up before you start it. They could have utilized the same chime that both of my Discoverys (series 1) had. Those vehicles had a much friendlier sounding two-tone chime and not the "you're going to fly into a mountain" warning sound that P38s make. Out of the box, new - LRs were unreliable compared to their peers...but at this point in time, the ones that are left are all survivors just needing some love to make right. I'm glad used LRs have such a horrible reputation, it makes them significantly cheaper on the used market...great for people like me who like fixing up an older vehicle.
So we know Mary knows The Rundown with The Rock and Sean William Scott, for a movie, as we got Landrover, jungle, and the Rock sweating, for a description. Besides The Fast and Furious franchise, lol
oh my gosh! Your mention about cast Iron Skillets is so true. I love my skillet. Been cooking every meal in it for nearly two years the seasoning is insane! I'm proud of it.
Great video. I was genuinely laughing watching it at work. It's pure genius hooking Mary up with probably the least reliable modern car on US roads and having her document her experience. I like to think that "butthole" was the car's response to her critique ... or the car has Tourette Syndrome. lol
The only car I've seen with an injury that's been able to mention which part....that futuristic levels in Perry, aka "2001 a Space Oddity" progenitor of HAL !!
long travel on accelerator and brake were so that they were smooth when in use as back in the day, it was the only way that you could get that level of smoothness window switches were in the middle to save the hassle of making different door parts for LHD and RHD
The clue was in the engine immobiliser message. It said use the remote... I seem to recall that this car had the suspension converted to coils. They ride a lot better on air suspension. However, to be realistic that car is almost a quarter of a century old.
Land Rover/Range Rover is not the "most unreliable car in history" and calling it that is hyperbole. It is however, in the bottom third IMO. Mary is great, it's one of the few times in recent memory I've listed to "girlsplain" and haven't been annoyed.
Mary did a great job, it is a different kind of car/truck video than what TFL usually does and I think there is a lot of room for this style of video from the gals, they are fun, quirky, and definitely not boring! Someone should have told her that "injured butthole" is just a Land Rover option that year ;)
God damn, y'all. My accountant had a late model one of those with a supercharged v8 gas motor. It did 2 engines, each at 50K changed out, before he got his money back as a lemon. Seems like they never addressed the reliability issues? Mary is gr8.
That's a really good RAV4. That V6 realyy brought it to life. Sadly mine was the 4 cylinder and had the awful oil consumption problem. 1 quart every 800 miles. Toyota completely rebuilt it at 196k miles for free though.
Rember distinctly at the ford dealer looking at cars in 93 they had a Range Rover for 10k My sales guy flat out said no he wouldn’t let me buy it as it was a really unreliable car. I didn’t have any idea back then and thought it looked nice. Thank god he steered me away from that.
Girl you are slowly becoming a car girl. You won't be a ancient car book of knowledge, but every car that you drive for a week, you will have something that you can talk about. ❤❤❤
I like where this is going with series potential. Buying questionable junk at auction for Mary to live with. Her humor will double your channel's viewership. Urban Survival with Mary. Boom, done deal. 👍👍 Edit: Ooo, better title: Seven Days of Mar-age or Mary'd to the Slob. Come on, this practically writes itself.
As someone who completed Model T driving school, I think you would cringe at how much you have to wrestle with it. You’d be begging to get Perry back. Lol
She should have just called in every day saying, the Land Rover is not running... No one would have doubted it for a minute. It's like getting a week off work!
Good point. Next time I interview an employee, I will ask if he/she drives a Land Rover/Range Rover.
You should do a video with Mary driving every car you own, just to get her perspective. Her insight is invaluable and she is very entertaining. Thanks guys
Good idea, but add that she will sing a song of her choice which she thinks matches the car’s personality. For that, I would go to the ATM and pay cash!
She needs her own segment
The world needs more Mary reviews.
And more vocals!
More Mary, period!
Mary is a breath of fresh air with her creativity in automotive world of reviews. Really enjoyed it and she sings really well!!! Very talented young lady. Keep her.
Mary is just a treasure! You guys really lucked out with her and Jen. I don't think there's anyone on the team as entertaining by themselves as Mary is and she has a great way of explaining ,"Hey, I'm not a car person, but this is what I think"

Mary exudes this cool feminine tomboy girl next door vibe that appeals to men from age 8 to 80. Kid sister maybe?
I genuinely like her. Bravo 👏
Got to agree, she brings a different kind of energy and perspective to the channel. :)
When the Google viewership studies show people are becoming more interested in the presenters than the products, it makes sense to bring her on. Just read the top comments on most videos, they always discuss the hosts.
Maybe she's Tommy's wife...IIRC, he got married not long ago.
@@aussie2uGAit's not like she's a car expert and that's kind of the point.
Average person's opinion.
Pervert
“…kinda brilliant, but also kinda stupid…” sums up the whole of Land Rover as a company. Great video Mary.
One of the most honest, real world tests I’ve seen yet on TFL. Great job!
That’s why I love these episodes. The guys are enthusiasts that will look past a lot of things. The girls give it to you straight haha
I had stopped watching for a while, but Mary, you reignited my love for the videos. You have the best personality. ❤
Aww, thanks!
Words out of my mouth….👍
Same I even subscribed again.
This was one of the most entertaining TFL videos, ever.
I have no idea who Mary is but she great. You should keep her around.
She is one of the TFL videographers. Sort of starting out the same way as Case and Andrei did, behind the camera and then in front of it.
Cast Iron and the IRS... lol. She isn't wrong...
That thing would frustrate me to no end.
Give to this girl more screen time. SHE'S EVERYTHING❤❤❤❤ I laughed so hard 😂😂
Mary is the best TFL host. We need more of her.
Well there's your problem right there :) - in my 6-year P38 experience, anything less than premium gas (US) was an immediate check engine light situation. Preferably 93 if it's there.

She's a solid addition to your videos. Entertaining personality.
In a world of chaos it's always refreshing to relax with a TFL video, thank you.
Glad you enjoy it!
There is definitely, something about Mary. Such a fun, bubbly personality. Keep them coming, I also enjoyed the GT/CS video with Jen and Mary. Kudos, TFL.
“I love the color, what’s its name?”😂😂😂 Mary is hilarious.
Window controls are in the middle because the range Rover was made in left and right hand drive and this was to save costs not making 2 different window controls
Thats not correct. Many vehicles have center console mounted windows controls. I love them. Also you can mount the same switch on the left door or the right door, so you lost all logic immediately
You got the V6 Rav4. What a jewel it is!
Keep her! I like her perspectives about cars. She definitely sings very well.
i had this for 5 days once, honest to god that beeping sound brings back a lot of.....bad......stressfull....nightmare memories LOL
Don't know about "Injured" but when I saw "butthole" I just assumed "Butthole Surfers" and said to myself that Mary has great music tastes, especially after hearing you sing to Queen
I thought the same, but at the end of the video she didn't know why it said that, so who knows. It was definitely funny though.
“Injured, Butthole” 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Mary nailed it…. Now I wanna see her take on some gnarly off road sections….Im waiting!
You guys hit a homerun when you hired Mary.
True that
I’m guessing she was there a while before they introduced her to doing reviews and being in videos..
Maybe its just me but Mary exudes charisma. Even a Range Rover review video is fun.
The Old Rangie made the review much livelier too; a total character who almost talked back to her, lol !!
I got seven minutes in and I haven't seen an ounce of evidence the RR is unreliable. I could watch Mary review an empty cardboard box.
I think she could make an empty cardboard box interesting.
TFL is so smart to have the ladies assist with road test.text. I find it exciting to hear a women's point of view. So interesting. Frank in Arizona

1:35 ooh! review and entertainment!
And the go pro beep intrigued my dog lol
oh my gosh! Your mention about cast Iron Skillets is so true. I love my skillet. Been cooking every meal in it for nearly two years the seasoning is insane! I'm proud of it.
Never seen a Mary feature video. Great job, very entertaining.
She's got a way with words!
Mary is a keeper. Very entertaining.
You are a natural at this. What a great edition to TFL.
7:15 I have the same XM head unit! I don’t use it anymore, but such a throw back to like 15 years ago.
Especially when it's reading out a band called "Butthole Surfers"
Ok.... I'm going to say it. I think Mary is the best host yet on this channel.
These female videos are so much more enjoyable. Keep them coming.
Great video. I was genuinely laughing watching it at work. It's pure genius hooking Mary up with probably the least reliable modern car on US roads and having her document her experience. Love the videos with Mary. She’s a great addition to the TFL team and an absolute joy to watch. She’s hilarious 😂.
I laughed out loud ( much needed!) watching this entertaining video. You boys have got yourself a keeper with Mary and Jen 🙂
Every time I went to unlock or start my P38, I had my fingers crossed that the BeCM electronics would comply. However, it rarely let me down
15:15 it needs Medicare LOL

My first time watching Mary and she is awesome! Keep up the good work!
It's supposed to be 70 degrees in Boulder on Monday. Welcome to Colorado...
Wow she was great..!! and I was in agreement with a LOT of what she was saying too. Good stuff.
I love my iron skillet (and my reliable Tacoma). Hurrah TFL for bringing in such fresh, relatable talent. Love Mary's vids!
Lol reliable tacoma is a lie
My 1989 Volvo 245 station wagon had heated seats... they'd been a thing for awhile by 2001.
Nice video, Mary is very natural in front of the camera. Great stuff!! 👍
Mary is fun. Loved this one!
Love Mary reviews. Keep em coming
Best car review on the internet.
7:20 There might have been a butthole surfers song playing on the radio at the time. 😂😂🤣🤣
Really dig Mary's commentary! She's witty and funny, nice job!!
RAV4 is really all anyone needs. They are the Labrador Retriever of cars! Lovable and versatile.
that beeping 😂
It’s not as bad as the ford ding
great review and Ive had a LR disco in the past...gone after 80K miles. I get a Kate Hudson vibe with Mary...great comedic timing!
God damn, y'all. My accountant had a late model one of those with a supercharged v8 gas motor. It did 2 engines, each at 50K changed out, before he got his money back as a lemon. Seems like they never addressed the reliability issues?
Mary is gr8.
You must be mistaken, the P38A ( This generation of Range Rover ) never came with a supercharger from factory.
That's a really good RAV4. That V6 realyy brought it to life. Sadly mine was the 4 cylinder and had the awful oil consumption problem. 1 quart every 800 miles. Toyota completely rebuilt it at 196k miles for free though.
Interesting perspective and review! Thanks for the great content!
Glad you enjoyed it!
When I was living in NH 10-15 years ago, I never saw a Land Rover on the road, ever. But nowadays the 2020+ models seem to be a lot better built.
For a small fee!
Mary has rizz for days. She's a natural in front of the camera and is your most entertaining presenter.
Another fun video. A nice contrast to the technical ones.

So true!
Mary is just awesome and a breath of fresh air
She's so annoying. I'd rather listen to the Range Rover beep.
This is a GEM of entertainment!! WOW, best video of car content for the week - POWER AND TERROR!
Smelling a feeling is a highlight of the day😂
That title had me thinking you'd be camping in that thing for a week🤣
Brilliant Review needs more Mary reviews pls.
Mary is your best reviewer. Keep her. The Range Rover did not disappoint either. 🤣
@13:40. That's why we need girls. Only they would figure stuff like that out 😂
lol, great and entertaining review on the Range Rover, and brave to daily it even just for 5 days.
Imagine being the previous owner watching this video 😂
I like where this is going with series potential. Buying questionable junk at auction for Mary to live with. Her humor will double your channel's viewership.
Urban Survival with Mary. Boom, done deal. 👍👍
Edit: Ooo, better title: Seven Days of Mar-age or Mary'd to the Slob. Come on, this practically writes itself.
Good script or impressive improvisation for the monologues. Mary, you are much better alone as a solo reviewer.
"Like having a dog with genetic hip problems..." - perfect description!😂
Love this video! Keep them coming
Solid video as Always Mary❤, just be glad you don’t own that metal wreck!
I simply disconnected the speaker from the cluster. Much more peaceful ride 😆
I love rovers - but I could not stand the warning sounds on this one 😂
As someone who completed Model T driving school, I think you would cringe at how much you have to wrestle with it. You’d be begging to get Perry back. Lol
Full honesty I think I have a crush on Mary - funny personality lol
