The One Piece is not a literal gold treasure, but the reunification of the world into one piece, as opposed to the current world that is divided into separate areas or pieces. Roger saw that the time was not right for the reunification because the conditions were not met yet. (Nika had not yet reappeared, etc.) Instead, he saw that his role was only to kick start the pirate age. That's why Roger wished he grew up in Shanks' era.

That's part of it (many dreams will be fullfilled by the time OP is solved). But Oda already said it himself that there will be also be treasures awaiting for the crew when they arrive at laugh tale.
My head cannon is that God Valley was destroyed from the amount of fighting that took place on it. We had essentially all of the strongest people from all sides Garp and sengoku, Figerland and maybe a few other gods nights, The Rocks Crew, The Rodger pirates as well. I dont think imu needed to use the ancient weapon on god valley due to this unless imu decided to say F it and was trying to take them all out at the same time and failed.
I mean if I was Imu I'd nuke the island if my foes die great if they live oh well

There's one massive issue with this theory.... Imu HATES the clan of D. And would have never allowed Figarlands to offspring with them. Especially given the reaction to how she learned the truth about Lill D. Nelfatari. It would make Shamrocks: Shamrocks D. Figarland, and Shanks: Shanks D. Figarland. And there is no way she would then later also Promote Senior to Saint Saturn of the Gorosei. I think its much more likely that Shanks ended up in god valley because he by being a toddler snuck in there got lost being a pirate at heart and ending up with the treasure by accident, or somehow got separated from whatever was protecting him.
However, I think it maybe points to Xebec being Blackbeards ancestor. Their entire vibe seems to match. In that sense i think that Roger was supposed to be Joy Boy 2.0 but he didn't have the fruit and they had to skip the generation, for laugh tale's sake. They did say they arrived too early in a flashback, so this might be what was meant. Roger's legacy then parsed to Luffy, and not shanks, even though Shanks would seem to be of the Half Moon family and other things. Roger may have passed it to Shanks because he knew Shanks would play a role somehow. That means... Imu is trying desperately to avoid that future to happen, where Marshall, Luffy and Figarland and possibly more, end up fulfilling the prophecy that ultimately means the end to Imu's rule. But it also rules out any possibility that Shanks will be a member of the Clan of D. Shanks will be either an antagonist or a catalyst, Xebec might have had a personal goal there, but it would be chaos, not necessarily without gaining a fruit or two, but the main goal was to just be chaotic and selfish. Just as black beard would.
The Dragon allegations 😂 hope Scopper Gaban will teach Luffy some tricks. Hoping Dragon will come this time because the Holy Knights are now moving. Wanna see Dragon vs Garling.

I think the rocks pirates attacked god valley to get the treasures and rewards how else were the crew mates like kaido and big mom and white ears able to get their devil fruits? I don’t recall them ever staying where or how they obtained them. Idk about the female thing doesn’t seem likely.
I doubt that the crew mates would crash out for some female they don’t care about it seems more likely they were interested in the treasures since they all weren’t acting as teammates but more self interests
