Todd, I think this is music history. This is the first time the "you have been Warned" thing was used. These young ladies were the featured speakers at a TEDx event, and talked about their struggles as young (16, 14, and 12 at the time of the video) women trying to make it in the music industry. And this was their *second* time as TEDx speakers! They had done one the previous year!
While there was some compromise, I'm sure, in contract negotiations between The Warning and Lava/Republic Records, I can assure you, nary has there ever been a recording contract which has granted more "freedom" to a band, than the contract The Warning has entered into. This is not, I repeat, not, your standard, soul-selling record deal. As far as UMG blocking things, well, we all know, the large record companies don't know their arses from their elbows, when it comes to how to produce and profit from music in the 21st century, so they act as though we still run down to the record store to buy a band's latest album, instead of capitalizing on the free publicity and long term gains of internet exposure to the bands. They may come around. The first major label to figure it out will be the one which makes the most. Just one ostrich to pull it's head out of the sand to see the internet isn't going anywhere, and the flood gates will finally open.
Yes after SEVEN months of negotiation you know damn well The Warning wanted to maintain something and that something was their Patreon and the creative freedom.
What The Warning did in their negotiations was literally unprecedented in the industry and yes they maintained greater creative freedom and ownership of their music and image than pretty much any “new” act in history. LONG LIVE THE VILLARREAL SISTERS!
This was the first song I saw after seeing the 2014 cover of Sandman. Couldn't believe it was the same little girls. Then I realized this was from 2017 so I had a couple more years of songs to catch up on. Only took me two days to see them all.
Hi Todd! This is the video that hooked me on The Warning for life! This is from a 2017 TEDx Talk they did at the Univ. of Nevada at Reno. BTW, it is also where Pau first used the phrase, "You have been Warned!"
This particular video, at least until the Mayday EP and tour, is probably the number one video in terms of garnering new fans for The Warning. It is definitely a cornerstone video for The Warning Army, as that whole Tedx talk video is. I'm glad you chose it.
This is probably the most influential performance that has brought The Warning the most followers from reactions. I know it was Fil's reaction from the channel Wings of Pegasus that brought them a couple hundred new Patreon members. FYI as phenomenal as The Warning's recordings are their live performances are always light years better. The Label usually won't block their official live performances they may claim them though and only their stuff from Mayday and newer...
The opening, a singing and powerful drummer, the harmonies, a rocking catchy tune, and finally the closing! This is the the song that hooked me on The Warning. 👍😎
Me too. A friend gave me an advice, I accidentally chose this song and instantly fell into the rabbit hole. I felt a bit cringy at first like why is an old guy listening to a school band's music. But as you hear and see: they are good players and they are dealing with serious topics of life. Ok, this one is a love song but all the others are mosty unconventional stuff. It's worth while to study the lyrics. Meanwhile they are 5 years older and evolved to an astonishing level. A real power band of the XXI century.
When I heard you midway saying that you loved the beginning, I smiled cause I knew the ending was going to be even better. This song and performance was my introduction to The Warning. 🤘😎❤️⚠️
This is the performance that grabbed my attention and never let go. Pau singing and beating on those drums was something I'd never seen before; I've seen singer drummers before not not beating the hell out of the kit like that and still singing in tune. Ale on the bass amazed me with her skill and professionalism at such a young age and as for Dany, she was incredible. The song was good the beat was good, everything was so good. I dove on down that rabbit hole and lever looked back. Every song from them has been outstanding. In this performance Dany was 17, Pau 15 and Ale 12 and they've only gotten better as they grew up.
This was the performance that hooked many of us to TW. Think about it, as teenagers, going to a foreign country, speaking English, your second language, and preforming original songs. They are so brave.
Firstly Todd, you were so excited you missed Pau breaking a drum stick. To her testament you did not even notice it. Like a seasoned professional she carried on and never missed a beat whilst grabbing another stick. To me this song Survive is The Warnings anthem song. A strong crowd favourite that will still be played in 10 years time when brilliant songs like Choke and Evolve have been faded and surpassed by newer, greater songs. So much energy. Still being played now at concerts and absolutely smashing it. Great song, great reaction Todd. Never take your eyes of the screen, not even for 1 second !!! 🤟
The various live sessions and concert videos don't get blocked so far as I know. Also, anything prior to Mayday is completely owned by them. There's a saying "Dany is passion, Dany is hope, Dany is life". It should be very apparent where that came from. This is still my favorite, and one of my favorite pieces of music of any genre. There's a huge tranche of songs right behind it, but this is safely on top. Of course, this is The Warning we're talking about, so they may well come up with something even more enjoyable. They've changed up the opening since they don't have a keyboard on this tour; they use a lighter guitar and bass accompaniment. Personally, I'm partial to the piano opening. The performances on this tour are much more energetic, and has been noted below, they're a lot better live than in the studio. This song was absolutely wild live. In Houston, the opener (Hero The Band) hopped up on stage during the coda and started dancing with them. Dany said that that was completely spontaneous; she saw them hanging out off stage and on the spur of the moment motioned them to join them on stage. Everyone loved it. I've never heard the story behind how this song came to be written. I do recall Pau saying at one point when they asked people what should be the second video from XXI Century Blood that all their friends wanted this (in the event, they saved their money and never did a second video from it. Although they did a video announcing the start of recording of the third album (Mayday, Money, and 5 more songs yet to be released) where they used this as the backing song, so I always think of it as the Survive video. By all rights, this song should have been at the top of the rock and dance charts. EDM isn't the only danceable music.
THE WARNING ARE A VERY TALENTED HARD ROCK GROUP WITH MUSICALLY SOLID THEMES, PAU, ALE AND DANY ARE POWER, ENERGY AND PASSION, THE BEST CURRENT ROCK TRIO
Excellent! Such young ladies to be so talented at their craft. Towards the end she did some serious head banging and guitar licks! The young lady drummer wow, wonder how old she is? She could do the "Phil Collins" play drums and sing at the same time. Thanks for sharing this Todd good choice! It's always nice to see and hear "such young talent" these days!👍
This is in January if 2017 at a Ted X in The University of Nevada, You should watch the whole Show it's only 18 minute Long the RUclips title to that video is called "You've Been Warned" they play 3 songs and between songs they talk to the Audience.
I believe this was part of the 1st TEDx session of 2017 which was on Jan 21 2017, so if my creaky math is correct, that would make Dany 16, Pau 14 and Ale 12 .. If I am off with these figures, the other TWA members will add the correct info
una canción poderosa con un final épico!!! una banda de 3 hermanas super talentosas tanto en la composición como en la interpretación de sus canciones... THE WARNING ON FIRE 🔥🔥🤘🤘
Here is the link to that entire 2017 TedX talk. At that time they were 16, 14, and 12 years old: ruclips.net/video/pj5ue3M-v6o/видео.html Here is their first TedX talk from 2016. At that time they were 15, 13, and 11 years old: : ruclips.net/video/dyJlh0tNK6Y/видео.html
#Todd - These were TEDx talks. Well worth watching not just for the music but also for the talks the girls gave between numbers. Very well spoken even though in later interviews they admitted to being very nervous. But The Warning being The Warning they more than held their own. Note that it is unusual to be invited back by the University. They were asked to speak two years in advance a row.
@@lonelywind3511 And you can see that even though they were very well spoken in the first Ted Talk they matured so much by the time of the 2nd Ted Talk. I go back and watch them often just to see the changes. The first one (to me) showcased Ale' on bass (so small but so good) and Dany on guitar. The 2nd Ted Talk really showcased Paulina's amazing talents.
I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOUR APPRECIATIONS, THE VILLARREAL SISTERS ARE GREAT, BUT FIRST THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUT, AND THAT IS THE RESULT OF INTEGRATING A VERY SOLID FAMILY, PARENTS ALSO BEAUTIFUL AND BUSY FOR THE REALIZATION OF THE DREAMS OF THEIR THREE GREAT DAUGHTERS. THE WARNING'S LIMIT IS DEFINITELY THE SIDEREAL SPACE. KEEP SUPPORTING THE ROCK REVOLUTIONARIES OF THE 21ST CENTURY.¡¡VIVA THE WARNING!!🤟👍💥⚡💯💯💯💯💯💯🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
Hi Mr. Todd, check out the notches in the drums and the cymbals, plus the stick broken, Pau showed lot of strenght playing the drummkit in those times. with the high pitch in her voice while playing shows poweful lungs.
Hi Elias ... I think I missed the drum stick when I had to pick something off the floor but caught it when I did a replay of the reaction video. Pau bending over to pick up another stick without missing a beat. Very cool! Keep rockin' ... 😎🎸✌
If I am right some reactors just overlay some regions of the original video with text and reuploaded it and it does not get blocked... Perhaps you can try it?
It sounds like their record deal is miles above most deals. So far the only negative thing I've heard about them is the RUclips blocking thing. I think we'll just have to live with that because they still have near total control of their work. (Not like I have read the contract, that's just what I hear )
UMG are total RS HOLES with the way they've treated a few of The Warning videos and how they let some reaction channels upload, but then block others - it just makes no sense when they have an up and coming act like The Warning on their roster, who they really need to promote as much as possible,as this band is the future of rock

Five years later and this is still a staple in a The Warning show.

Nobody comments on the 2 drum sticks she broke during this song...she is a beast
Where was the second one . I only saw the one near the beginning.
