McLaren haven't been able to use their wind tunnel for a few years after changes to cars front wings made the wind tunnels too small. As with some of the other F1 teams they have all had to use the Toyota wind tunnel in Cologne which is much larger. That's why Zak makes point of saying they are going to make their own wind tunnel larger, which is really great news.

    • @Ruylopez778

Just another example of a reactionary regulation change that was made with no real thought.
Also, all the teams that can are throwing money at their facilities now, ahead of the cost cap - which will be impossible to police and have little effect, given the advantage the top teams have been carrying for years now.

No, he wouldn't- he had years of other teams stealing the ideas he helped bring about-you can't blame him for secrecy- it's commercially sensible- trying to stay one step ahead- never good to criticise until you've walked a mile in the other persons shoes.....

@@simonbishop6041 with all due respect. I think he showed that he wasnt the leader he once was in his last few years at McLaren. Hence why he had to step away in order for the team he so dearly loves had to make steps forward. @@tomeddie14 It would be true if it was easy to win in F1 which it certainly isn't. He was an all-time great leader although he apparently was difficult to work with/for- however that is true of many a great leader- it's lonely at the top- and having to take responsibility for others isn't always easy. Look at the achievements under his stewardship- The wins/MTC etc etc the road car range- that's massive- and also remember how many years the Mercedes engines detonated race by race in the early days and now look at them it's not easy and the blame he gets is unjustified IMO :-)
