Appreciate putting out the video. It helped.
Added information for anyone planning to do this:
    1. For the front shaft, back spider joint, it is very difficult to grease from below; grease from above instead.
    2. You don't have to jack the front to grease the front shaft. As long as your are not in 4WD mode, the shaft still spins.

What do you do if the grease fittings are not facing down where they're easily accessible to you?

    • @5MinuteFixit

I move the vehicle off the ramps and then back on to get the fittings on the bottom, sometimes it takes a couple of times to get them where you want them. Hopefully this helps, thank you for watching!

Just as a heads up, I take apart the slip yoke to grease it because I find that greasing through the zerk does not provide enough grease before it starts to come out and it does not reach the lower splines so they run dry.

Under what conditions does the front slip yoke slide in and out just out of curiosity I did mine and I had someone jump on the back of the 4Runner and I could see the rear slip yoke slide in and out, the front not so much at all but it does have signs that it’s had some sliding in and out over time

Just did this on my 4Runner today.
However, after doing this, my suspension seems a little stiffer and there is clunking between the rear driveshaft and transfer case when I push the car up and down. I only did 2 pumps on the slip yoke for fear of over greasing.

My Daughter's 99 4Runner 2WD w/270k developed a shake at 30-35 mph. Turned out it just needed this maintenance. Quickie-Lube type shops don't do it as part of the regular service. I don't know if they'd even do it if you asked for it. "Umm, what's a 'zerk fitting'?" Lol
