Intresting lore idea: Odell, IS 'the thing' the original charecter damaged it enough that it had to enter a body to survive, bringing them back to life but it was too damaged to take full control, Odell is unaware of this but is curious why he no longer feels strong emotions except for the need to kill.
Eh. The thing was powerful enough to take over someone with literally one cell of itself remaining. Wouldn't really make sense it wasn't just a different guy altogether.
I see the problem here. When you spawned in the same area, the Thing also despawned to protect you from insta-dying too many times, but also the exit from that room is connected to the Thing, and since it's deleted, you can't reopen the entrance.
@@Blndi3 O'Dell turns out to be the thing but he didn't realize it even though he has a urge to kill and he just thinks he O'Dell one of his previous victims do to something involving with it among us shape shifting powers
Have to admit that if a character like Odell crash landed into my Rimworld game, not sure I’d rescue him. But that being said, good luck, Odell, to survive in this world and make it to the series, those scary characteristics may be just what you need.
If this does turn into a kind of "Avengers Assemble" series, I think this guy has gotta be like, the recurring villain or something right? Post Apocalyptic Literally Psychotic Nomad Serial Killer?

I'm amazed that the zombie miner didn't grab you or even hit you. I've been playing the wilderness start with a "naked & afraid" character, and even when I put _tons_ of dodge skill on my character, he just gets beat to hell - even with ordinary zombies. And that's when he's _running,_ striking once and then moving back a step, so they rarely get a chance to do anything at all. But every so often, they random an attack, anyway. And they almost always hit or grab me, even starting with superb dodge skill. You were already injured, yet you didn't even get touched! Well, maybe that was the "unstable footing" of the rubble? Lots of fun, anyway. Thanks!

I'm loving these more bitesize survivor stories, they're so much better for my shorter attention span >.< that being said i do still love the longer ones too when i'm able to focus on them, both are great.
I like to think his "Killer Drive" is less of a generally psychotic thing, but more relating to these images he has in his head. Putting down creatures while they are undead (especially as he is freeing the bodies from torment and saving future lives with each undead put back down) or before they turn soothes the images being shunted into his head from all this and calms his mood (even if he might not entirely like it).
As someone who's been on-and-off casually watching your bran's tale for the better part of the last year, I never thought I'd actually see you both in my recommended *and* with a new cataclysm video. Guess I'm subscribed, now.

Unfortunate that the mine start issue affected you here, but good that things still worked out. I liked your own Killer Drive going up when you led the miners into the lava.
My only problem with somebody having a pistol / firearm underground is the noise would either deafen or blow out someone's ear drums/ a ricochet is guaranteed to hit either yourself or something you didn't intend to in the first place.
I think if you through a flame of some kind into the gas in the mines it explodes, or at least it used to. Like a dumbass in a previous playthrough I went down into a mine but had never managed to find a flashlight or the components to make an electrical light, so I had torches.....
Giving 16 year olds guns... I wonder what kind of mine this had to be, or what the employers were like to be arming 16 year olds, definitely sure to stir up to legal trouble... good thing the Cataclysm came along before they could get on them for that. Is mining even viable for an early-game strong character? One could build a base behind some shelves in a house's basement. Ores are quite uncommon, though. Tested with a fully leveled character and it was hell for my health & stamina just to mine one tile.
Mining is unviable unless with mining Mods, in the base game there is just some kinds of rocks like sulfur or rock salt, but no actual ores, you can get metal easier by trashing car and machinery in the world .
