Since then, her daughter has been able to write and read Urdu. I' m from PAK lives in UAE, and I brought my father from karachi to attend Rekhta .. My father was born and brought up in India. We still have a strong connection with our family in India, but unfortunately, we can't travel due to the current situation there. UAE has become a hub for the subcontinent family reunion, which we do in 2 to 3 years. My father, even though he was on wheelchair, really enjoyed all the #Rekhta activities in dubai. What a refreshing start to my Sunday morning! Syeda Arifa is my absolute favorite adabi personality, and I can listen to her for hours on end. I must say though, Mahwesh you speak so eloquently and it’s a pleasure listening to you describe the latest Rekhta festival! I’ve been following Rekhta for years on RUclips, and it does invariably show up every time I want the authentic version of some Urdu ashaar. So happy that the festival is now being held on neutral grounds where Urdu lovers from all over the world can attend and enjoy everything related to this beautiful language. Really surprised to know that Amna was very less informed about this prestigious festival Jashne Rekhta . In India Urdu is less spoken compared to pak, but everybody knows the importance of Rekhta. But kudos to Mahwish, she gave great bird's eye view. ❤

I’m from India aur yha jashn-e rekhta har saal hota hai and I used to go every year. The way Mehwish explained it was so beautiful, I want to share my experience as well here- har saal rekhta ache level par hota hai aur bht log attend karte hai isme Urdu zabaan ko lekar artist aate hai us par baat karte hai bahut celebrities perform karte hai, iski sabse achi baat hai ki isme youth connected hota hai bht students aate hai and young shayar unka mushaira bhi hota hai bade aur mashoor shahar hai unka mushaira alag hota hai. Khane ke stalls hote hai yha to har state ke kuch famous khane hote hai. Entry free hoti hai u just have to fill a registration form. Aur bht maza aata hai log bht enjoy karte it’s like celebration yha 3 days ka hota hai they provide poetry books, pamphlets, bookmark etc. good to see that people enjoy these kinds of events jaha aap kuch sikh kar aate hai and thanks for sharing such info. Aur jo rekhta ke founder hai unka naam Sanjiv Saraf hai.
As an Indian, I feel extremely proud of the organization Rekhta. My husband and I had attended the first ever Jashn in Delhi, it was a delightful event even then. Thank you so much for your kind words and appreciation for the event. Urdu has been an integral part of our heritage and has connected people from all over the world. What is more heartwarming is that Aamna and everyone associated with her always have good and kind words about their experiences connected with India. The main reason of the phenomenal popularity of Pakistani serials is the language. The best part is that we here call it Hindi, and the official name of the language there is Urdu. Many people here do not know the difference. They feel happy to watch the serials, thinking that the language is Hindi only. It was carefully orchestrated phenoman where urdu was linked with muslims by the British. It was adopted by the Muslim elite ,That's why punjabis felt inferior and ultimately shunned their language
But sometimes I do feel that Punjabi muzlimz whose main language is supposed to be in Shahamukhi which is of course having Persian language influence on it would definitely learn Urdu easily due it's Persian connection as well, here I am talking about the writing script of both the languages.

But not once did I clicked on any other video. Such a delight it was to see mawish speaking. Mawish is the person, I would love to have in my life n hang out with. She has such strong positive aura. MashaAllah. U both must do more video, especially these kind of videos. U both can do story telling, jo aap ne apnau bachpann mein suni hon barron se. I feel I can understand completely if a Muslim feels Arabic is his/her language as it is language of their faith. But urdu is beautiful language but it has destroyed punjabi in Pakistan...that hurts me a lot .

Aamna... One correction... Pakistan may have adopted Urdu as it's national language but it's not Pakistans language by any means because it originated in India and even today Urdu is Indias one of the official languagues..
So happy to hear about prosperity of Urdu language . Sindhi , pashtu , baluchi language is must in elementary + middle school . Punjabi’s don’t own their language so it is not taught in schools .

People have to understand Javaid Akhter sahib is coming from India , the so called democracy. So he has to make a controversial comment since he still have to live in India as a Muslim. Love your content Aamna though I do think Hassan and you sometimes come across as too politically correct and unwilling to criticize or call out bad performances and actors. I did not like the title " What Happened at Jashne....."? a translation like Kaya Huwa? sounded like something bad happened. I did see the entire video and nothing bad happened... Isn't the meaning of Urdu is garrison/military place?

About Javed Akhtar issue.. I feel he is right, I don't think all pakistani Muslims feel this way but punjabi Muslims do feel urdu is their language more than punjabi.and in pakistani punjab punjabi is not taught , that brings identity crisis. I feel I can understand completely if a Muslim feels Arabic is his/her language as it is language of their faith. But urdu is beautiful language but it has destroyed punjabi in Pakistan...that hurts me a lot .

'Urdu musalmano ki zabaan hai'...dear this believe is not only in Pakistan but also Indian muslims who are urdu speakers. Meri nani yeh kehti hain. To sirf Pakistanis ke liye yeh comment nahi tha.

Aamna... One correction... Pakistan may have adopted Urdu as it's national language but it's not Pakistans language by any means because it originated in India and even today Urdu is Indias one of the official languagues..

So happy to hear about prosperity of Urdu language . Sindhi , pashtu , baluchi language is must in elementary + middle school . Punjabi’s don’t own their language so it is not taught in schools .

I love how your guest is narrating the event. She seems like a wonderful storyteller, a knack not many have.
People have to understand Javaid Akhter sahib is coming from India , the so called democracy. So he has to make a controversial comment since he still have to live in India as a Muslim.
Also, the bathroom and wadu comment, thats why Pakistan was created. The old urdu grand ma stories should be brought online.
