- Here is a typical day in my self built remote off grid log cabin in the north woods of Minnesota. I like doing these silent videos once in awhile because people all around the world can watch and enjoy them, without a language barrier. #diy #outdoors #winter

I like doing these silent videos once in awhile because people around the world can watch and enjoy them, without a language barrier. Plus it’s fun to share what it’s like here when I’m not talking to a camera.

I read the entire Ryan’s ruclips.net/user/postUgkxGqOCINHE0Z0E5gxzSdNi9NWGugRY5Hm2 Plans and was able to make a shed plan. Using Ryan’s Shed Plans alone, the shed itself is great. Where I wish I knew more is with respect to ground preparation and foundations. Maybe that's beyond the scope of Ryan’s Shed Plans.

I turn 53 this year...when I was younger, our family didnt have a TV till I was maybe 10...the kids never came in till dark...and when we did we helped mom cook food and do chores...it was quite and excellent life back then...CHEERS from Baltimore

Mine was a similar experience, we did not have a TV till I was 13 or 14 yrs old. I saw a photo ( facebook) of kids in the 70s /80s (playing outside) next to a photo of kids waiting to cross a road ( in a city), All had their heads down looking at their phones. Big difference.
Ya I know but this evolution things change….people also didn’t have indoor plumbing at one time…nothing wrong with being nostalgic but this the circle of life…peace be with you.

As the song goes...."silence is golden"....beutifuly and realistically done. Hearing all the sounds without ones voice, crackling of the fire, sawing and chopping of the tree, making coffee, breakfast and dinner, seeing and hearing you take a breath, sound of your snowshoes walking through the woods as you go about your daily tasks. Being alone with oneself, in all the beauty and peacefulness, alot of hard work, at the end of the day to sit in front of that fire.... 💕, denise from pa.

Excited to see you posted a new video. I've been binging on your older videos. I like both types, I like your typical day in the life most. I like your style of life period. I'm not too far away in Mid Michigan and we've barely had any snow this season so far. I'm sure in Northern Michigan and the UP it's a different story. I want the snow. I'm tired of the gray skies with wet, muddy, soggy grounds. Especially with the 4 dogs. It feels like spring now a days. I've been waiting for the ground to freeze and no muddy paw prints coming in the house.

I also like the silent videos every once in a while sometimes you don't need to say anything... just take us through a day of what it's like to be out there.
The silent videos are ok as a break here and there but I like the commentary, it lets everyone know the difficulties and experiences you go through and informs others who may want to live this way too what to expect. Great videos.

I don't usually like silent videos but I enjoyed this. It gets across the point of how quiet and peaceful it is at your cabin. Very nice. It's a good point about people who speak something other than English being able to watch and enjoy. I'm glad you don't put any sort of music to this. It's much better this way.

Nice, good way to tell a story without the bells and whistles.
That shot of Skeeter sitting on the porch at eight minutes is either a post card, or an art print that is really nice. It's sellable especially if you sign them. You have a hidden gem there for a series of ongoing Kyle prints :) 👍👍👍
If you start shooting in 4K you can export your video still at 1080 but you can also extract single images from the 4K files that can print nicely at 5x7 or 8x10. Prints should be made on "canvas paper" for better perceived value and also hides a ton of imperfections. If you need help or guidance I would be glad to help.

I was thinking, you could have finished knocking the snow off the roof using the tree you cut down, remove the branches and cut to desired length to reach the snow left on the roof.

What do you think of reverse fires for a wood stove? Big stuff on bottom and little on top. Gets the draft to work quicker. And cover your solar panels while you are gone.
I need something like this helps clear the mind.
