Omg, for over two months i tried to get that glass dome off with no success!! I used goggles in anticipation that the glass would break! I used a small screwdriver and it worked exactly the way you described. THANKS IMMENSELY!!!

Thank you, solved my problem! Was able to unscrew the glass dome. I just used a kitchen butter knife since that was handier than going out to the garage for a screwdriver.

This is the one!! Seriously give this a try. I tried duck tape method, pushing up, tapping but this one worked in seconds after an hour of trying different things.

Looks great, and with a brighter bulb installed that’s all the light you need. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxWF88GpljEn-0o34vtLFazEQ5h5Q33SjU As far as ease of installation- this was my first ceiling fan and it took about 3 hours because I had no idea what I was doing and also it’s helpful to have a second set of hands and a magnetic drill bit. Works great.
Thanks man. I use a flathead to pry gently on one cleavage to unsettle it and then give it a light pound and twisted the cover off. Easy, my piece was thick plastic.
