  • The "aliens" of Earth live in the deepest parts of the ocean, and marine biologist Alan Jamieson has the photographs to prove it. Explore the depths with Jamieson as he challenges what you may believe (or have been told) really lies waiting in the world's darkest, most remote waters. A fascinating, bizarre and surprisingly peaceful dive into the watery world like you've never seen before.

    Watching this reminds me a lot of how people sometimes let their fears control them. A lot of the guests who come on our trips, they are not familiar with the term snorkeling. There is a certain image in their mind that being in the ocean is scary, it evokes scary questions. But during the trip we went to, after snorkeling for the first time in Raja Ampat, Indonesia, the place on earth with the most oceanic diversity, our guests were fascinated. Like Mr. Jamieson mentioned, it's humbling and peaceful, not to mention absolutely gorgeous. Even if the ocean is uncharted, treat it as a question to answer, a wonder to see, not something to fear 💙

    Is this a good time to buy stocks/crypto in the Europe? I know everyone is saying stocks are at a discount and all, but just how long will It take for us to recover, obviously there are strategies to manoeuvre in this present market but these strategies doesn't come common to the average folk, or am I better off putting my money elsewhere.

      @Rose Allen I agree, that's the more reason I prefer my day to day investment decisions being guided by an inv-coach, seeing that their entire skillset is built around short & long term holdings for profit realisation, coupled with the exclusive analysis they possess, it's near impossible to not out-perform. I've been investing with a coach literally for 4years, and have accrued approx. $1.4m in net-profits thus far.

    I'm not particularly scared of the ocean. I get scared of when thinking of being crushed by the oceanic pressure as much as if with a falling building.
    Though what we do not fear we are often kinder to. So we should really enjoy the ocean, as we need it intact to survive ourselves.
    I kinda want a VR robot to go down there and pet some fishes and stuff : D

    Also we can't control our body as well as on land, plus we can't breathe underwater. + Fear of the unknown.
    Adding those together is what makes deep sea "scary" and those "monsters" so scary.
    All those aside, beautiful beautiful TED talk.

The best strategy to use in trading crypto is to trade with a professional, like Fergus waylen he understand the market quite well, that way maximum profits are guaranteed.

      Lesson in the first class.
      - Children come up with a word with the letter ,, Yo ,, Little Johnny holds out his hand. teacher
      thinks there is a mat for this letter. She asks Masha.
      - Say Mashenka.
      - Christmas tree.
      - Correctly. And now come up with a word with the letter ,, X ,, Vovochka again
      pulls the stick. And on this one there is a mat, the teacher thinks. Asks Vasya
      - Say Vasya
      - Clamp
      - Well done Vasenka. And now come up with the letter ,, P ,, Everyone thinks
      and Vovochka raises his hand again. The teacher thought, this letter is not
      mat.
      - Well, tell Vovochka
      - Scumbags. While your Christmas trees and collars are here, I almost pissed myself off.

    To sit there & show a few photos of small creatures but pretend there’s not also absolutely terrifying disgusting & downright enormous & massive creatures in the ocean for example the giant squid (basically the size of a whale) the goblin shark literally all kinds of sharks and whales & killer whales & massive eels is insane to me. His presentation sounds nice & all & I get where he’s coming from but he’s also not giving a realistic picture

    • @Arbosh4
      @Arbosh4 Год назад +4

      But all these are not deep sea creatures, certainly not to depths greater than say 6000m. These fearsome beasts should target be called Monsters of the Middle Sea.

    • @JohnTux_
      @JohnTux_ Год назад +1

      @@Arbosh4 If you show the picture of a Kraken and then not mention the giant squid as a marine biologist it makes me question what else are you not telling me? I believe he makes a good point and I am not questioning it. Just feel that there are actually exiting things that could have been mentioned even though they don't technically belong in the deepest parts. As he said it is just one ocean.

      @@JohnTux_ I see the point better now. Yes, he could certainly have done that. Thanks

    • @sunray501
      @sunray501 Год назад

      @@JohnTux_ Nah, the point was to challenge the narrative or our collective imaginations of the deep sea. Which is why he transitioned to showing something that does exist at 6000m. The giant squid has so far been spotted at 759m and 900m (wikipedia). Not anywhere near the 6000-7000m where he has explored. He's got 12 minutes, better for him to focus on his main points. Showing the giant squid could backfire on that effort.

    • @JohnTux_
      @JohnTux_ Год назад

      @@sunray501 I see that the point is to challenge the narrative. The kraken depicts the narrative he is trying to challenge. That narrative probably has its roots in reality via the giant squid especially for the kraken. He wants to blur the line for the depth classes and wishes that everyone sees it as one ocean. If time is of the essence then don't show the kraken to begin with. He made the effort to present the Anglerfish, but glossed over the squid. Cherry picking the facts to present in my mind undermines his goal for the talk.
      Still I am not disagreeing with his overall statement. I personally just found the presentation a bit disingenuous and that can backfire the effort more than the truth.

      He was talking in Celcius degrees, but regardless, the pressure reduces the freezing point. At 3000 metres, the pressure is about 300 atmospheres, or around 4500psi. The freezing point of water at that pressure is about -3 C, or 27F. At 6000 m, it's about -5C, or 23F
