    Thank you for posting this game MJ. Even though they lost, which was very surprising and disappointing to say the least . They lost fair and square. Marquette took advantage of the obvious fatigue of UConn, came with a game plan and they got the win. UConn should sit on this one and make some changes. Hopefully they put into perspective that they only have 6 games left and realize that at this point in the season they really need to preserve their starters. the bench needs to play a tremendous amount of minutes in these last few games because they may be needed for the post season you just never know and also just to run some reps and give the starters some rest. Wins and losses can’t matter for UConn at this point, the focus has to be on getting the starters some rest and getting Caroline and Azzi reintegrated back into the line up so they can get comfortable again and build that cohesiveness back up with their teammates. Being ready for the Big east tourney and March is the main focus now. Villanova and St. John’s will be no joke for UConn. Especially Vill, they are definitely gonna be gunning for UConn and the big east title. this is where UConn really has to dig deep and make it happen. It’s no doubt UConn is still a great team just need to clean some things up like rebounding and limit the turnovers for real. UConn will not overwhelm teams on defense but UConn has the offensive firepower to help them win so making shots is critical. If we are being realistic we know that the current bench isn’t really going to be much help, and we just have to accept that, but then again in this last stretch of the season there can be a lot of learning and development taking place just in case they ended being needed. The bench has potential we just haven’t been able to see it unfortunately. Of course all we can do is make predictions and hope for the best but we just never know. I’m sticking by the huskies though and will support them no matter what. Let’s get it 💪🏽

      I agree with everything you say, I think that they are fatigued mentally and physically. They jogged down the court the first several minutes of the game and that's not like them. Mental fatigue is causing many of the turnovers. I'm 100% behind them and if they get Azzi and Ducharme back it will help tremendously.

    • @bijzonderbijzonder297
      @bijzonderbijzonder297 Год назад +2

      @@Tuscarora-Twigg no that’s real talk. I really think Geno should take his chances starting the bench players to give the starters some rest. They will still play but just a lot less. Instead of them playing the whole game maybe they’ll only play maybe 25 to 30 minutes.

    I’m still crying! Marq played a great game and deserves the win! I’m truly happy for them. With that said UCONN had no luck on both side of the ball. Aaliyah could not hold on to the ball, Nika played like bench freshman, Audrey was off her game, Lou was out of rhythm, and Dokia unforced turnovers… Damn, just damn! Plus UCONN couldn’t buy a lucky bounce

    MJL243 is a great channel. Thank you for uploading. I guess Uconn players are already tired since from the time they played to SC losing back to back, maybe they are really exasperated already and tired. Their first five played the entire game having no substitute plus the fact that Marquette shooting very well and their defense made it difficult for Uconn to transition and rebounding was also terrific. Congratulations to Marquette, Uconn needs more players to contribute hoping Paige and Azzi, and the rest would be able to come back to an active roster. Nonetheless, good game.

    I really like Marquette. Duffy does an amazing coaching job and prepares the Golden Eagles so well for UCONN everytime. Marquette is also one of the very few teams that defend really well and do that without playing extra physical or even dirty like so many other teams that season. Also Jordan King is really fun to watch.
    I really, really liked when Gino put the bench players into the game in the beginning when nothing was going right. Gave some breathing air and time to coach them on the bench to stop those sloppy plays.
    So you cant complain about the defense, and all the time people point out they look tired but they keep on fighting. It's some creativity and offball movement that is missing in the offensive game. Yes they do make some very bad decissions, really unnecessary mistakes and sloppy passes, but all they really need to do is rely on their strong basics again and then add some spice here and there and the offense is fire. 52 points in 40 minutes just speaks volume.
    Was a great game by Marquette! Can only give them all the credits they diserve.

    Think about this: If UConn plays their bench, they will make dumb mistakes. However, if they play their starters 40 minutes a game, they will make sloppy, careless mistakes because they are tired. Pick your poison. The starters making mistakes because of fatigue will not help in the long run, but the bench making mistakes could be learning opportunities for the future. UConn should be playing their bench significantly more minutes. It will be frustrating, and they may lose some games because of it, but long term, their starters will be in a better place.

    Let's face it: UConn is in big trouble because they don't have a jump-shooter like Paige, Azzi, or Caroline. Worse, Nika is a fast break point guard. She is not a playmaker point-guard. Until Caroline steps back on to the painted hardwood, it doesn't look good for UConn. She's the best playmaking, point-guard UConn has other than Paige Bueckers. Sweet Caroline, your friends need you.

    Marquette played well. UConn seemed alright physically, but mentally tired. I think there was also a hangover from the SC game. The shooting was bad everywhere. Playing the half-court game is very limiting, though good for Dorka's practice down low. She was pretty good in this one. They need to be reminded of their experiences as freshmen and sophomores and how they got better. Recapitulating all that can bring them back to now. They also need lots of rest.

    I dont know if the coaches are not coaching the bench the same way as the starters or the rest of them or if it's also a factor from scouting them back when they were still in high school but the bench has been kind of disappointing tbh, years after years it's like this, I dont know how a program like UConn doesn't have good deep bench players. At this point, I'm just hoping the starters get some rest, it's not fair to them if they lost in March because of fatigue

    I am not sure I wanted the replay. Yikes.
    Everyone played poorly tonight. This team as currently constituted has no shooting. They often get in foul trouble. They can’t play at the fast pace that they prefer because they have no depth. Ayanna has regressed since she got the concussion. And Amari looks like a “never will be” to me.
    I want to see them beat Villanova next week. That is a good short term goal. That game basically will decide the conference championship. It is a must win game.

    UCONN looks very tired & lethargic and Lou Lopez looks beat up from previous games. Time to get the bench in and get them experience. They need to figure out how to get Lou Lopes freed up. Teams are attacking her every time she touches the ball. They are too stagnant on offense and in contrast, Marquette showed a lot of motion on their offense. Lots of cutting back and forth, up & down and lots of quick screens. UCONN has a tendency to telegraph their screens allowing opponents time to react.

    Holy hell that was hard to watch! UConn started strong by dumping it inside for 3 straight scores, then just looked flat and deflated the rest of the way. I much prefer CD's rotations and using more of Amari and Ines consistently earlier in the games. If they used them more earlier in season they may be able to offer quality relief minutes during tourney time to keep the core relatively rested. Alas, I fear they're going to wear down by early March. This is of course not factoring in Azzi and Caroline cus u can't place hope in players still in warmups and with a lotta rust. Just gotta make use of the tools you have available on hand.
