Let's not forget that we got the best shark starter(Buzzsaw shark[and lantern shark but it isnt as good]) in 2020, and then Right hand shark and the Kragen cards in 2021

I concur, LV monsters are a neat concept that was given a bad rap from the poor mechanic of trying to keep the monster line alive. Armed Dragon Thunder is a step in the right direction, making the climb faster and having a way to mitigate cost within the archetype. I'd like a LV archetype that are a party of adventurers who grow from their encounters, LV monsters that level up after you use effects that interact with them in some form, something their spells/traps could enable, they could also pack effects to put back higher level monsters from the hand so that they can be later summoned from deck (have a draw/search as part of the effect for doing so like Illusion of Chaos).
Let's be honest. Nobody is surprised MBT missed the chat screaming at him that Virtue Stream is searchable.

Omg yes thank you! I wish they did that with the Armed Dragons! But instead they just made an entirely new archetype instead of giving the LV new support cards.
To be fair all meta archetypes are just designed to be meta by Konami. It just feels artificial with Blue Eyes because it's an anime archetype.
Which is why the new BlunEyes structure will include a card that banishes every monster in the backrow and every monster added to hand outside the draw phase.

I think it mostly feels artificial with blue eyes because of that one time they released blue-eyes cards specifically designed to target the best meta decks leading up to a tournament- designing it to be "meta" as opposed to designing it to be powerful which results in it being meta. That still colors the way a lot of people see the archetype.

I've been saying for years that we need Errata BUFFS that fix old cards that were just poorly designed or made without future-proofing
The RUM equip spells is funny as hell since if you equipped it to Shark Drake (the OG) uses it own effect to make a second attack, then use the equip spell effect to bounce the equip spell, you can then treated it as an actual RUM by discarding it and then go into Shark Drake Leviathan for another 2 attack and then piercing lol.
look all im gonna say is the Vicious Knight floodgate effect actually kinda just hits snake-eyes and and tenpai's boards kinda well.

The new support actually changes the Shark endboard greatly. Now we can cut the utopic future line for ED space and our board instead has a monster negate (New Veiss), Icarus Attack (Off Virtue Dragon/Stream), and a nontargeting xyz suck (Nasch Knight). You can do this all off a Buzzsaw Shark (who you'll have 9-12 copies of once we get Seventh Tachyon too)
How are you getting all that off just Buzzsaw?

(Threw in the Armor cards because they also let you plan B Toad+Armor Line if you get handtrapped) to get the Nasch line you can just use Abyss Shark to grab Crystal Shark instead at an earlier point of the combo
The combo DOES depend on you having activated a spell at some point to turn on Big Jaws special from hand. You can use Triple Tac Thrust/Talents to hit that requirement, but an upcoming card Seventh Tachyon in the LIGHT Duelist pack searches Buzzsaw, and Seventh Ascension searches that spell so you'll have 6 cards that get you Buzzsaw and turn on Big Jaws at the same time. You can also run Called By and Crossout to hit that threshold if your opponent Ashes/Veiler's you
So that’s why “Dominus Purge” restricts Dark, Fire, AND Water; they’re afraid that “Sharks” are gonna make a heck of a splash.
The thing that is really funny about the Allure Queen support is that all the legacy support is basically just so they can set up the board Queen has in the anime turn 1, which isn’t shown in the actual duel.
And to ‘well acksually’ MBT here, Queen doesn’t show up until VRAINS season 2, and much of the end of season 2 and early part of season 3 is writing Sol Tech out of the show since it seems like 20+ episodes were cut from what was originally planned for the final season so they just didn’t have time to wrap up the Sol Tech stuff
the real funny thing is giving you a ton of link material without any locks, the Spellcaster Link pile is one step closer to becoming real, boys

As a Zombie player, the Duke needing 2 zombies is incredible when we already wanted a six star besides Garura to fuse off of ghost fusion, I would play it at one just for that, then being recursion is nice if you got hand trapped, and it gives you another normal, I’d play a 2/2 split of this and garura

Xyz Poseidon Splash is, funnily enough, searchable in Utopia off Astraltopia, which is a completely different xyz deck that also happens to like having equip cards on its xyz cards!

I'm excited for the Clear cards, I enjoy attribute gimmicks and the Clears in the anime made for a really fun duel with Atticus and Fujiwara. I know it isn't going to see play competetively but these new cards do help the deck a lot in what it wants to do and I hope we get some more.
I know I'm alone in that since YuGiOh and by extension it's playerbase doesn't give a flat fuck about anything but competetive play but I'll take the free pie everyone is passing up and have some fun with the ice cube bois.
Unironically Altergeist Merluseek is a 1-card Golden Allure Queen since all Altergeists are Spellcasters.
Normal Summon Merluseek, link off into Artemis, Merluseek search out Malwisp, Malwisp Special Summon itself and revive Merluseek. You got 3 Spellcasters for Golden Allure Queen.
Is it the best thing you can be doing with Altergeist? Not really no. Is it funny? It absolutely is, and you should do it for the funnies
It annoys me that chat still says you can search off of Xyz Poseidon Splash with Generation Force when a new card XYZ Force has power crept that card in every way as a searcher and a Foolish Burial Goods.
The Clear World cards being printed with attributes is so stupid. Why are they so afraid of letting cards be unique?
True. On the other hand, since they are not and instead make you immune to clear world, you can technically run a clear world engine with other archetypes, which is kinda funny.
They didn't want to write new rules for cards they know nobody's going to play
I imagine it’s more of the fact that when they printed Clear Vice Dragon years ago they changed his effect since they didn’t do weird effects like having no attribute back then and they just decided to stick with it for these cards.
Because sometimes archetypes end up being bad because they tried too hard to be unique. Or it could be because Vice Dragon doesn't have those effects and they didn't bother adding in a retrain.
Edit: Also, the original Clear monsters had attributes even in the anime. Their effects just treated them like they didn't.

I feel like us Shark Players needed more XYZ monsters with negates and removal as I notice that's lacking a lot.
You can't even set up the golden queen turn 1 since you have to send the equipped allure queen to the grave during the standby phase.

i like how they went and said you can ONLY use the equipp effect as quick effect as if there where any other effects on there extremely known cards. and what if they decide that the cumers are so strong that they will buy out every card with a women on it and remake the original lv version and now all the effects on the retrains are quick effects. like ocerstrated babel exists and no one said its broken that a tier 1 deck has all effects as quickies on a far easier to get to card
mildly annoying thing about the Clear archetype to me: why are they all DARK? if basically every monster is gonna have "You are unaffected by Clear World" in it, why tf not give actual attributes and make the monsters a little more interesting? hell, give 'em multiple attributes and play that into their effects.

it's a unqiue effect that plays into its attributes and is a lot more flavorful than "lol they're all DARK ooo"
It's because in the anime and tag force, they had no attributes at all. They can't really print cards with no attributes, so they all have this text
@@Xenonfuji They make the cards, there is nothing stopping them from printing cards with no attributes, just like they printed cards with no levels and cards that can't be in defense position.
@@__-be1gk if they print it like that you would have to come up with another set of rules that dictate card interaction. Not to mention you also alienate the deck best feature, being a dark deck which benefit greatly from generic dark support.

A shame to see people hating on the clear cards so much. This was one of the archetypes from the anime that I've wanted for a super long time. Not everything needs to be meta warping

Just you watch at least for a time structure in some way will Make Blue Eyes Meta defining or at least able to compete with the Meta, Blue Eyes has such a large fan base making brand new support Konomi cant afford not to.

the shark deck is very unfortunately a going 2nd deck. with these new cards the deck's objective will be to clear the board of interaction turn 2 or 3 and hope you have enough to summon c32 leviathan and finish from that positon
Ok, all that Fish support is horrifying actually. Surface Aqua Jet is both a Surface AND an Icejade, meaning you get 2 free Water summons, and one isn't a Monster.
Why is it horrifying?
Gishki's main playmakers are lvl 2 Water Fish monsters. Akd all this stuff recycles them easier than any shell prior.
Reminder that the Allure Queen lady also *CHEATED* during that duel by activating a skill during a master duel.
In spite of all of that, she still got folded.

Can we just abandon the old LVs and make new ones? Give them easier level up conditions like your opponent activating a card or effect or Special Summoning a monster in its adjacent column.
I was cooking some customs a bit ago where reinforce truth was the combo starter, and then as your opponent did stuff in their regular combo the LV2 guy would slowly get stronger. You could also do taxes but instead of paying LP it just places counters on this LV guy who levels up into a boardwipe once they reach max counters.
There are so many ways konami could reinvigorate old mechanics with just a little touch-up, there's nothing saying they can't just errata the wording or change the rules next master rule.
I just want Allure Queen RETRAINS. Not this nonsense trying to make them work.

Finally Konami heard our cries...and chose this clunky lvl deck that was only seen in probably the most forgettable duel of the show...oh, said duel also skipped Queen's turn. She just suddenly a board of some random monsters, so the new villain has something to style on.
Heck, they could give us f'ing Baboon support. At least their random one-off duel was just dumb fun.
