Thanks for being here! It's been a tough week and I wanted to fill you in a little bit about what is going on. My amazon wish list: www.amazon.com... #booktube
I’m so sorry to hear about your FIL, Gina. I lost my dad in September after a couple of years of major health issues so I know what you are going through. Lean into your support system and all the comfort reads! ❤
Gina! I missed you, watched some of your older videos. I'm really sorry about your father-in-law. Sounds like you have a good family to ALL pull together and love and care for him. NOT all families are like that. Happy it's that way. Glad you enjoyed Disneyland! Cool hoodie😁! Blessings to you and your family 🤗
Wishing you and your family only the best regarding your Father in Law - We have had many health scares over the past few years and it is difficult on them and their caregivers. Stay Strong! Love the hoodie & the fanny pack ♥
Am so sorry to hear about your Dad in law. My heart goes out to you and your family, been there with my parents, it will be tough but you will get through it ❤. I have Mickey, Minnie, Donald duck tshirts etc, Tom and Jerry crossbody bag😅, all prized possessions. I can't think of a better set of books than Lord of the rings for a time like this. Take care Gina🌻
Hope your father-in-law recovers and all of your family continues to do okay. It is a stressful time when dealing with elderly parents and health scares. Take care of yourself.
When I was in the band in high school, I sat next to someone who was REALLY into Tolkien. He was ALWAYS re-reading the books, over and over again. I remember him showing me the inside cover of one of the paperbacks -- the white ones, back in the 1970s -- where he listed all of the calendar dates for each time that he re-read the book. And I didn't understand any of this, at the time. I had never re-read ANY book by that time in my life. I didn't understand why anyone would WANT to reread ANYTHING. I still rarely reread books ... except for the Armand Gamache books by Louise Penny. When a new one is scheduled to come out, I plan a few months ahead of time to read the last 3, 4, or 5 books, so that I can seamlessly transition to the new one.
Hi Corrine! I am a big re-reader of certain things - mostly Lord of the Rings, Miss Read Thrush Green, and Rosamunde Pilcher. They are so comforting to me. I need to catch up on Gamache! I left off on the one that started out in Paris - I just got a little bogged down in the 'Gamache is always an outsider at the Surete' theme that started to feel a little overdone. But I do really want to start in on them again!
I can understand about the comfort of reading. The Paris-based Gamache book WAS admittedly a bit of a challenge. Next one is coming out in October, though ... :-)
Hi Gina, Sorry about your father in law. Love your Disneyland merch. I also enjoy shopping there. Hoping to go again as it's been a while. I read The Dead Man in the Garden (Aggie Morton #3) for March Mystery Madness and Middle Grade March. Recently finished The Scent of Water by Elizabeth Goudge. Have you read her? I'm currently reading Ring for Tomb Service (Pennyfoot Hotel #9)/
Thanks Amy. I just bought a Disneyland annual pass so I hope to be making many more trips this year. I have read a few books by Elizabeth Goudge that I just loved!
@@GinaStanyerBooks I had DL's cheapest annual pass back in 2010 and had so much fun with it. The last time my husband I were able to go was 2018. What have you read by Goudge? Besides Scent of Water I've also read The Deans Watch. Both were 5 stars.
Are you a fan of fantasy otherwise Betsy? I think it's so popular for a few reasons. It really popularized the genre, it has great characters, it's got reaaaaaaally detailed world building, and it is a classic tale of good vs evil.
Sending Positive thoughts for your Father-in-Law
It's always nice to see you Gina. Prayers for your father in law. How nice that everyone is working together for a good outcome.
Thank you so much.
Thanks for sharing, but I am so sorry it's been so rough! I am sending you lots of hugs and gratitude for introducing me to so many wonderful authors!
Thanks Valerie.

I do not understand The Lord of the Rings at all. I know it's extremely popular but I just don't get it at all.

I guess I don't read fantasy either. @@GinaStanyerBooks
I did read The Hobbit and the first of The Lord of the Rings books just to see but oh well.
