I've recently bought an 18 plate 1.4t auto. The auto box is very smooth and makes for very relaxed and easy driving. Drove down to Devon last week and found it fine on the motorway. So far I am very pleased with my Mokka x as its got everything that I need in a car.
I’m on my third mokka in the last 6 years. Had 2 as company cars and I always thought they drive fine on the motorway and quite economical. Just bought a third one in the last week and went for the elite version. I’m very please with it.
Bought mine in May 2022 it's a Mokka X 14i turbo Elite auto with front and rear parking sensor, and everything I could possibly need on it,, it's great, had a sat nav in my previous Zafira model b, but with using my phone and a usb cable I still got to use the mapping system from it so I was't to disappointed, very pleased with it.
I’ve just purchased a Mokka x 1.4 elete nav auto, and I’m really impressed with it, it’s very high spec and nice to drive. I prefer and have got the 1.6 petrol. I prefer it because its fast enough an witout a turbo that can (will) fail. Also the1.6 has a timing belt, wich is better bc the chain is alot more expencive to replace and often, in my experience, needs so after 100-150k km.
Excellent review, owned my 1.4t MokkaX auto for just about 2 years now, really enjoyed it so far, no real complaints either, can fit quite a big in the back once you fold the back seats down (Great for Ikea runs)
I have a 68 1.4x ecotec, it has front and rear sensors. I really like the car and it comes with a very decent amount of kit. Service parts are as cheap as chips. Personally I have only positives for my mokka.
Quite happy with my '66 reg Mokka X even though the 1600 petrol engine lacks a bit of punch. What I like about it is all the fitted extras - rear view camera, front & rear sensors, heated steering wheeel and front seats, spare wheel, satnav (although it says I am off road when I enter our road despite being built in 2014), cruise control and normal air conditioning. I agree with you, that it can get noisy on the motorway but tootling around town at 30-40 I find it quite relaxing and noiseless! Oh! and it is a black one - love black!
I've got the 1.4 Ecotec version. Had it 4 months now. If you need to get going, 3rd or 4th is best. Very rapid with the turbo. The car came with 41psi in the tyres but I have reduced them all down to 34 psi. Set that way it goes around corners far better. With 41psi it didn't seem quite so sure footed and the ride was bumpier. But its a totally different style of driving compared to my old Corsa (2013). Seeing over the hedges is great. While the auto wipers are an improvement on my Corsa. The auto lights are pretty naff though. Just go into a shadow and on they come. As you exit, off they go! Its the same with the Info screen. Dark, light, dark...... But it is very comfortable. The car has also got a fold down armrest with bottle holders in the rear (basically takes up one small seat width).
Agreed that the Mokka is comfortable, and that the high driving position for seeing over hedges etc is good. Good to hear you like the car, and thanks for watching :)
We got our Vauxhall Mokka X Griffin 1.4 eco TEC for a little over a year now. Have to admit it’s good as a family car and space in the boot is decent for a getaway trip. Miles per gallon is decent but not to brag about however it’s a chunky car so that probably has to be put into consideration. Overall very pleased with our Mokka X and thanks for the review enjoyed it.

I have a Vauxhall Mokka Techline CDTI 2015 plate and love it. Handles really well and nippy. Front and back parking sensors. Shame they have now changed the design with the new Mokka.

Nice one Stephen, glad to hear it has helped. As a fan of Mercedes I completely understand the appeal of both cars - E class is another level in comfort and refinement, but they sure aren't built for handling 😄
For two and a half years I inspected and collected end of lease vehicles for more than 30 lease companies. I drove many Mokka's, petrol, diesel, manual and auto's and I can't recall any not having been supplied via the Motability scheme (I guess Vauxhall must have offered them a good deal), so most using their own money must have given it a swerve. Anyway, compared to almost anything else I drove during that period I considered them truly hateful. The early versions had an awful suspension set up which gave a very choppy ride that felt like you were going down the road on a pogo stick. This was vastly improved with the facelift model, as was the quality of the interior. Just my opinion, but I think you can do a lot better for the money. Nice review. I am currently looking at mokka x 2016 elite model 1.4T one of my worries was the fuel economy, most of my driving is on A roads to work, 37 mile round trip, so I am Impressed you were able achieve 48 mpg, that has put my mind at rest.
I suppose the laws of physics says that has to be true 🙂 It also makes cars less efficient due to the aerodynamics and they tend to be heavier to boot. I did notice the engine looked very low down under the bonnet though, to come to its defence just slightly! As far as SUVs go it's not a bad car, but I'd agree, I'd have (and do have!) a normal car too. Thanks again for watching mate.
Hello great review, I’ve been doing my research because I want to get this as a family car, but I was put off when you said there aren’t any parking sensors or reversing camera, when I looked online at the specifications it said that it did have these, question is, are you sure there are no parking sensors or camera ?
Hello and thank you! There were no parking sensors/reversing camera on this particular trim level (despite it's relatively high specification) but I believe the Mokka was available with both. So if the advert says it has them, you should be fine :) Just make sure to check.
I can’t seem to adjust my driving seat the back is to far back I’m constantly sitting forward , also I find my overhead driving mirror is small and I have a blind spot on my left side not good on motorways ,

Have got a mokka turbo x,had it three months 17plate ,don’t think it’s very responsive as a turbo model ,and not as quick in acceleration as I thought it would be,😢but do like it every much
On driving my Mocca X Turbo 69 plate for the first time the engine faded as I went down through the gears approaching a roundabout. This happened several times and I rang up my vauxhall dealership only to be told that it was my driving ability. I now turn off my fuel saving switch on ignition but it still is an intermittent fault. I went on the Mocca owners website and discovered that this was a common fault and that the drivers were told that their driving ability was at fault. We can't all be wrong? I have driven numerous cars over the past 50 years and never had this happen to me befoire. I won't allow my wife to drive this car as she would not know what to do if the car "faded"in traffic Vauxhall know about this problem but have chosen to do nothing about it. I suppose someone will have to die before anything is done about this concern.
This isn't your driving "Ability" but your driving "Style." What you describe is auto stop/start which is a feature for fuel saving. I suspect that you put the car in neutral and coast to traffic lights/junctions. The engine will cut as your in neutral and your foot is off the clutch. A simple modification of this style of driving will eliminate the issue for you.
Thanks Andy! It's been a while since I drove it so not sure on all the details of that. I think it's fairly simple to use from memory, and I always use Android Auto for maps 😄 (or you can use Apple carplay if you've got an iPhone)
Common issue in a lot of modern cars sadly. Get lots of accidents at junctions and roundabouts because people can't see past the pillars! I know what you mean about auto, makes driving a lot more relaxing
This is just like the Buick Encore . A lot of problems with the turbo engine and other engine related issues. Not recommend years 2014 to 2017 models .
Honest opinion as an owner the mokka x 1.4t is one of the worst cars I've ever owned. Build quality fair. Bhp fair. Torque rubbish doesnt have any. 6th gear pointless. Comfort fair. Mpg rubbish doest come close to the manufacturers spec barely averages 37 mpg. Stop start system works only sometimes. Parking sensors work when it's either too late or not at all. Windscreen wiper settings work intermittently. No undertrays on any Vauxhall car so the engine bays look as dirty as a 20 years old car after only a few years. Design aesthetic pleasing. For me personally more cons than pros I've been unlucky with mine would not buy another or Vauxhall for that matter. I've owned 2 Vauxhall's and have been disappointed with both.
Its a small suv. Its not a rally car and shouldnt be compared to one either. And people are generally spoiled carwise. Everything needs to be like a bullet. That bs.
I get where you're coming from with that. But the idea of reviewing a car is cover all aspects, and then the viewer can make their own mind up. If you're not bothered about handling then you can safely ignore it. What I will say is, that some SUVs handle better than others, and it's therefore worth pointing out.

Best way to use the built in sat nav is don’t bother its rubbish… use android auto or CarPlay it’s way way better
Was it made in the UK?
Spain, I think.
The only issue with this is the huge fromt pillers. I have a 67 plate auto. Won't be driving a manual again
Common issue in a lot of modern cars sadly. Get lots of accidents at junctions and roundabouts because people can't see past the pillars! I know what you mean about auto, makes driving a lot more relaxing
Mocha in a mokka … total gangster 😎
How to start a mokka
This is just like the Buick Encore .
A lot of problems with the turbo engine and other engine related issues.
Not recommend years 2014 to 2017 models .
Got our Auto 1.4 turbo elite 18 plate 6000 mls done 36000 now fine bar the radio noise not great ,looking now vw t roc or the bigger one
One day the Astra will be an SUV that runs on electric Power. Look at the Mustang crap e for example
Haha! Yeah, it's kinda already happening isn't it. Looks like you can get an all-electric Mokka, which is a bit like an Astra SUV.
So much better than the Juke?
My mum got one she Love her one see a very good car too ues mate my mum love her car
Nice one Greg, they are good cars 👍
1) did you hire it? 2) if you did, I hope it wasn't you that scratched a thousand times under the boot 3) your face when you ordered the mocha 🤣
The 'loading a thousand needles into the boot' test didn't make the final cut!
I also lol’d at that face 😂
2015 model
I’am watching this in 2024
Hello future guy!
Something a bit disconcerting about having a guy do a review who looks like Edward Norton in American History X!😮
Lol!
