    Love it. This all applies to sports journalism in general. I'm new to video but been a sports journo for 15 years now. 1, 6 and 7 for suuuuurrre! Although I have become dear friends with many of the athletes through the years. The key is to always keep it professional and build trust, respect and boundaries. Even the ones I'm friends with, when we're at the races, it's all business and I have to treat them the same as the athletes I don't like. lol

      E I have an off-topic question for you. Trying to figure out why some of my GoPro footage looks like crap once it's uploaded to RUclips. It's weird because it's only some of the clips and not all of them. One suggestion I saw was to try uploading at a higher resolution than 1080 so that RUclips will assign it the VP9 compression codec instead of the AVC. Do you know anything about this? This video I just uploaded at 1:10 you can see the quality deteriorate. ruclips.net/video/r5MhSnGQ3Xs/видео.html

    Not negative! I think this is my favorite one so far!
    Have you considered using your presence and experience to consult with minor league teams and leagues abroad?
    Also, I'm curious what you do about storage. Any chance you plan on a video talking about what you do with all that footage? I mostly keep stuff in the cloud and on a couple drives but mostly, I feel forced to delete things due to a limited budget and a consequent lack of storage space

      Thanks for the great feedback! And yes I am looking at eventually doing various levels of consulting. I just have to figure out the most effective way to do it. Also thanks for the suggestion, a video about storage management could be good. I'll put it on the list!

    Do you delete the footage that you didn't use after all? I actually am curious how you organize stuff and what challenges you had to face, like lost footage. As a beginner I already can see how much disk space can making video cost...

    • @BeyondTheGame_E
      @BeyondTheGame_E  Год назад

      I don’t delete anything until several years down the line and there is absolutely no chance that me or my client will ever want to use the footage again. I use a NAS server which provides a lot of storage and some protection against disk failure. I talk about my server in this other video if you’re interested ruclips.net/video/ErPXKF5FmuA/видео.html

    so how much would a sports videographer make compared to a regular videographer

    • @BeyondTheGame_E
      @BeyondTheGame_E  4 года назад +1

      There’s many variables. Location, size of the business, full time vs freelance, etc. But typically, you make more money working for a video production company or a TV broadcaster than for a business that only has videographers to promote the real purpose of the business, like sports or any other big brand that creates their own content.

    • @BeyondTheGame_E

      I’ve never used it. Looking at it online now, it seems like a consumer camera that won’t get you great quality but will get the job done if you just want to record games.
