I always appreciate your level headed takes on content. Sadly a lot of the player base as a terrible "efficiency" mentality. Getting as many kills per hour is awesome but for a lot of people getting that 1 kill at all can make their day. If you just need a boss kill I recommend the FC Boss Guild. They do boss Masses. Sure Nex AOD is scary and hard but not when you have 50 people lol
I’m a victim of this mentality. I’ve played this game for 15 years and this artificial ‘need to be efficient’ has put me off properly getting to grips with PVM for ages. Videos like this are really helpful to remind you that it’s okay to keep layering your progression with new upgrades/switches/improvements bit by bit rather than being overwhelmed with everything all at once and giving up!
Spot on. I came back to rs roughly 2.5 years ago and spent a long time camping arch glacor. At the start normal mode with all mechanics was hard but now I can do 1200% enrage and have the log done. It’s basically funded my range setup completely. Gonna try and push to 2k soon. Zuk was a difficult one. I didn’t want to ease in with magic and animate dead and just decided to learn with range until I got it down. Took roughly two weeks (limited playing time) of a couple attempts each night. But got my Zuk cape on the weekend. Next is Kerapac hard mode. Great advice here.
Thank you! I'm slowly working on Telos the most now. Still well below 100% with only a few total kills, feels rough. Glad to hear you were able to progress similarly and get to a really solid enrage! I'll hopefully follow suit soon enough.
Don't stress that you arent hitting the same kill speeds as the pvme users. It's not a big deal that you are getting 2 minute rasial kills when you could be geting 1:30 minute kills. You are still killing the boss.
From what I can remember before I got in-depth with pvm, was that I started off with revo and 1 bar. Eased into 2, and then 3 after a few months. I was at that point for a few years and now I have 5 bars up (At that point I strongly recommend an mmo mouse, unless you got the dexterity of a god to move your keyboard hand around lol) Back then the go-to boss to practice on was Vindicta. So glad how they made arch glacor the best boss to learn abilities, switches, pray flicks, and adren management 👌
A lot of this is quite sound advice. I'm already "more sweaty" than this, but I wouldn't have said anything differently than you did. I currently use revolution for basics only, and I do utilize weapons swaps. However, a good revo bar with basics and the important thresholds and no swaps will absolutely get you into end-game pvm. I did it there and slowly added in more control until I got to where I am now. Slowly adding in things like a mws for slaughter, etc.
Thank you! I'm loving melee especially for my Iron because it's easily grown to my most damage heavy style, but I still cringe when I read anything or watch vids of other people meleeing with multiple weap AND armor switches. I see some people really enjoy that. I know it's not really, but it feels like bad mechanics abuse to me to get to that level lol. I'm hoping to progress more or less like you said. I'm getting to hotkey things like Slaughter for good timing. Maybe I'll cave and get a mws to switch but...🤢 lol!
@Jasper72 no swaps are needed. I tend to think about it in the sense that when I'm using scourge, it's a small amount of work to change to a mainhand leng so I can split the cooldown for hurricane and destroy. It lets me add an entire powerful threshold to my zerk rotation. I dont have to, but it's not much effort. I also bring the vestment hood and jaws. Starting a zerk with 120% adrenaline is a big boost for minimal effort. Mws for bleeds. Zgs foe spec. This can be fun to see this effort rewarded in blazing fast kills and such. The issue arises when all these simple things are lumped onto combat, which itself is already a juggling act with abilities and prayers. Juggling a few things is easy. Juggling a lot of things are hard. I agree that it's the wrong kind of skill expression, and I do advocate for it to be worked on. In the meantime, it's optional, and I choose to do it, but it's not necessary at all. I've done most end-game bosses with full revolution, and it's also enjoyable. Depends on the mood.
I have only 3 successful runs on this account with Zuk (for the 3 stones lol). I recorded my first runthrough, I could make a guide but have to say it's probably impossible with totally full revo. However my DPS was still garbage at the time of my recordings and I managed, so I can totally publish a mini guide!
@@jasper_72 yes if it’s not possible to do full revo, you should a a guide for maybe revo for the basic and manual threshold and ultimate. But break down on what spell you use in order. So we can follow that
@luke Fham oh yeah can do. I still deviate very little from full revo lol, and when I got my first Zuk kill I basically only had ultimates off of revo. Thanks for the vid idea, will get this up as soon as I can 🙂.
@@jasper_72 As a 20+ year player All I can say is the game is totally unfriendly to players that can only use full revo. At all 120 combat stats I can't get to wave 5 at Zuk. Can't do enough damage In the time allowed to kill the things in the ring of death. Not to mention to even get to that part usually taking four tries to get the 50 k damage to even get to the circle of death part. Making things more complicated doesn't necessarily make them more enjoyable or interesting. It's like making reality into One Small Favor on Steroids.
@Willie Wonka you are correct, and I think this is one reason why OSRS still has a MUCH larger playerbase than RS3. Not to say you should switch, lol, but it's true that the real intent of higher level bosses is to push you to control which abilities you use and when. In my opinion it's escalated too much (with top tier Melee builds for example now having multiple weapon and EoF switches, and even armor switches now to pull off the "ideal" rotations) and for me is not enjoyable at the top levels. I try to still have fun with it and get into endgame bosses without feeling like I need enough keybinds to win a Starcraft tournament lol. I think it is doable and still can be fun.
8:45 "even with the nerf" lol nope, I'm trying to kill memory of nomad just once, just one single time, just to get the ravensworn cape, and I only just learned about animate dead, after the nerf that makes it no longer work on any of his attacks throughout the entire fight. The thousand-or-so top pvmers in the world will be the only ones left playing the game and paying for membership if jagex doesn't do something about the extreme difficulty of pvm.
I think if they would invest more in tutorials and give players more visual feedback on their own input. Sometimes it feels for me as I'm typing abbilities in certain sequence and later on gets activated. It feel slugish and a bit "I hope the game executes all my presses".
I'm not, lol. To clarify I was giving examples of learning a boss with Animate Dead, then trying them with Melee. Sorry if it was confusing. If there's any part in the vid where Animate Dead is active when I'm Meleeing it means that I recorded a Mage kill first then went in with Melee right after 😅.
@jasper_72 no worries if anything i was just making you aware its not working with antyhing but magic tank gear my bad dude i miss heard you probs 👍good vid though clean 😉

aod you have less chance to die in a 7 man than mass

Been looking for a group like this! Kinda sick of bossing alone
Very well put together video and a great general guideline! Thank you for the work man
Underrated useful information! Will definitely show this to learners :)

you prob need a shield swap at something eventually. The good news is that’s rather minimal and is more predictable/is for handling mechanics
@@peterkirk8510 This is true. I often just overlook a shield swap, but I'd say this of all things is basically necessary.
still suprises me the amount of people that dosnt know how to pronounce arch
😂 Love the bloopers
Can you do a fight guide for zuk full revo+++, I have a hard time clearing those minions during battle, and always got instant killed by zuk

What offhand are you using with the whip?
T88 tetsu wakizashi. Very easy to get, assuming you've been doing ports a while lol.
Is the passive effect active when the ring of vigour is banked?
The ring just gets consumed when you make the upgrade after Extinction, if I remember right. So you don't even have to own it anymore
ark glacor or arch... thanks for the vids.
its more like arch glachor/glashor then saying it outout sh sound
Onix should be disassemble into fortunates xD

Did you just say a decade break?
Yep. And never played EoC RuneScape until I got back in this time. Last time I played ~10 yrs ago it was just briefly in OSRS
I exclusively play on ironman as well :)
Lspvm247 is a learner friendly FC
Didn't know this one, thanks very much will check it out!
@Jasper72 I am a co-owner of it we have alot of small teams/ Lootshare masses and mainly alot of fun.
