Absolutely insane that our friends in Russia, pay less than equivalent of £15 per month for UNLIMITED use of electric and gas! Ridiculous situation we are in, all governments fault, no matter Labour or Tories.
We don’t use the words ‘friends’ and ‘Russia’ in the same sentence around here 😆
I predict a 30% rise in profits on our energy bills 😢
I never voted for Labour ...i voted Reform rather than waste my vote ... I am a pensioner now so i wont be getting any help
and lets face it those who voted Labour now have buyers remorse ...Labour is a disaster in every way ...
I thought they handled the Southport protests very well and put an end to further rioting. As for Reform, what is Farage doing for the people of Clacton? Nothing!
We do have to remember it’s only been 2 months. What can a government really achieve in that space of time?
@@JacobBurchell Yes i,m worse off they dumped winter fuel payments for pensioners ..2 months indeed ?
@@linofreek52 have you got yourself on to a cheaper fix deal before the October price cap comes in?
Thanks for your advice, with changing suppliers, but you're in error in your judgement, because as "they" force through renewables, there is therefore no hope of lower charges, or indeed of meeting energy demands! Since 2000, the population of the country has gone up by 10 million, we have therefore, no chance of meeting our countries energy needs.
Energy bills will NOT go down while governments are throwing huge sums of money pursuing ‘net zero’ policies for the nation . If ‘green’ energy is so reliable and cheap to produce, it wouldn’t need vast amounts of taxpayers money in the first place to underwrite a minimum return on private investment. The big banks and financial institutions would be falling over themselves to get in on the act. Anyone who thinks otherwise hasn’t done their homework. No nation on earth can ever prosper without cheap, reliable energy.
The issue we have at the moment is the world is hooked on cheap oil and gas, and wants to squeeze every last penny out of that before moving on. The big oil and gas companies are spending billions to slow down the transition to renewable energy, but the clock is ticking on them and they know it. Whether people like it or not, we have to transition over to renewables, but how quickly or slowly that happens and obviously who pays for it all is of course going to be the debate for many years to come.
@TheNobbynooner
Very true, the bill will very likely never fall, at least not a noticeable fall, probably just stagnate a little.
A small proportion of a bill goes to green energy you know recent price rises are lack of supply...Govts could've taxed those extreme profits and helped people. Green energy investment is essential for the future.
@@stevenjones9639 agree
If you think Labour are going to bring prices down, you are deluded.
Thanks for watching!
Pensioners will be hit twice:the fuel allowance has been stopped;and Labour have gone against what they promised about reducing energy costs.
Personally I don’t think Labour have gone against what they promised, I just think they should have made it clear that in the short term things would be volatile, but long term is where their plan of reducing bills will take place… but sadly they didn’t explain that, which is why the public is outraged by the energy bill increases 👍🏻
Strange really, I knew the price cap was going up before election ( news) so locked in on EDF, 26p unit and 58p standing charge.(Electric)
@@paulsparks7035 yes the info was available prior to the election, which is why it annoys me when people say ‘Labour broke their promise’ because the info was already out there that energy bills were going to go up, it should not have come as a surprise 👍🏻
@@JacobBurchellI really don't know how you can defend this government. They knowingly and purposely misled the electorate. I don't how they got any votes. Starmer gave us plenty of examples before the election of saying anything just to get into power.
billls will not come down period
I can tell you’re a glass half full kinda person 😆
Sadly, Labour will not be out for at least 4 years. By which time, there will be nothing left of Britain.
Have a little faith my friend! Hopefully it won’t end up half as bad as you think it will 😉
@@JacobBurchell😊
@@JupiterThunder We have to be positive!!
In case you havn't noticed, there's nothing much left of Britain at the moment because of the Tories.
@@PlanetaryCitizen Exactly, now is the time to start re-building which takes time... more than 2 months that's for sure.
Liebour lying, well there's a surprise, I really can't believe that anyone actually believed their hollow pledges in the first place?
No one lied. The energy we're using today was purchased 12 months ago on the energy markets and the suppliers have already bought what we'll be using next summer...Nothing the current Labour government could have done about this... Labour's plans to build GB Energy will bring down the prices in the long term, but we're still currently paying higher prices as a result of the Russia-Ukraine conflict...
I don't get why people are so shocked, of course they lied, they always have, they got what they wanted, POWER! they are no better than the Tories. They have proved it time and time again. Get ready for an even worse nightmare than the last 14 years.
For Christ sake give them a chance , they have no money 22 billion black hole. Have you forgotten the last 14 years. Everyone wanting to blame Labour for the Tories mess.
Agreed! It’s only been 2 months and people are already calling for Keir Starmers head on a platter.
I think over the last 14 years people have simply learnt to hate the government and even though it’s a different government in place now people are continuing the habit.
Starmers legacy get out of my pub sums up his life's purpose
I don't know anybody that wants labour out.l know people that don't want the Tories back, and don't want reform in.i think you love hearing your own voice.
Well if you don’t know anyone then they obviously don’t exist do they. I wonder why the vote wasn’t 100% Labour if every single person in the country wanted Labour in ?
Very strange.
@@JacobBurchell it's seems to me you don't know anybody that wants labour in very strange isn't it
@@harrywalsh677 I know lots of people that do, I also know lots that don’t, and that is ok. Neither is right or wrong.
To assume I like the sound of my own voice just because my opinion doesn’t align with yours is just plain silly.
I don't know everyone in the country you are twisting my words for your own benefit that's what Tories do.the people l associate with want labour in power.
Net 0. Just Google how many coal and gas power plants there are in China, Russia, USA, India, Japan, Poland I see some have hundreds or even thousands each country, the UK has 1 coal 32 gas we rely on some power from the EU. Then look at how many petrol and diesel cars for these countries. Our emissions are so low compared to most other countries. Someone want to make money and it wont be the tax payers. Just somthing to think about.
Which means we are leading the way, something to be proud of.
I never really understand the argument of 'well their doing something wrong so why don't we just do the same'. Someone has to set the standard of how it should be for others to follow, otherwise there is no hope at all.
China may have many coal stations, but they also installed the most wind and solar than the rest of the world combined last year so you can't say they aren't trying to transition because they are doing it faster than anyone.
Enforcing net zero is like when Chairman Mao made all the Chinese farmers make rope and they had a famine and millions died of starvation.
I’m fairly sure those two scenarios are not similar, but thanks for watching 👍🏻
