If you find my videos useful, perhaps you might consider chipping in for some gas money? Im too unwell to work now but I really want to keep bringing you these useful videos www.buymeacoffee.com/tinyhous... Хобби
Loved your synopsis of our work!!! Yes , in that one build in the pine forests of California we used pinecones to increase surface area...good call! Our Solar CITIES teams always experiment with very local materials. It is why you see such variation in our builds around the world. Each is a unique experiment and chance to make improvements and local adaptations celebrating the genius and innovation of each person and community.
Regarding the IBC gas holder you should know that we don't need two different sized IBCs. Years ago in Portugal we figured out how to rotate the gas holding tank 90 degrees and cut it fit it in another tank of same size by bowing out the cage slightly.
I just finished another one here in Palestine last night. I would live to show you.
Also would live to visit you in NZ and help out in any way possible. Never been to NZ...it has always been s dream!
Warmly, T.H.
So why is this fellow not on our international team?!! This fellow has over 6 MILLION views! Well done!
Thomas H. Culhane, I would LOVE to meet him too! We have a huge project in Australia coming up, perhaps it's but a short puddle jump over??
We need him!!
Hi Thomas- so good to be in touch again. we have chatted years ago on FB, but I dont use it any longer. Thank you for finding this vid and commenting. Your work is invaluable! And thankyou for wising me up to how the gas holder is made- I can share that info!. I did build a bladder stomach 5 years ago but it was not suitable for my location. This time I will be making this digester using all the tricks that you and your people have taught me in the last 5 years! Ill be doing plenty of vids and you will be promoted tirelessly it the series. I knew a decade ago that your work would become very important- Thank you once again TH!
You have me! thank you for your kind words- Ill do a video on the simple fact that we are now in touch!
PEI, Canada.... I love what you do and how you present each topic. Thanks!
Wow, thank you!
I love your passion, keep up the good work 👍👍
Wow, thanks for that pipe link. The prices are sweet as... Subscribed. Nice one!
Welcome!
Great Ideas 👌👌👌
I wonder how adding a few bags of biochar to the digester would work as a surface area for the microns to grow on?
Awesome! Thank you!
Looking forward to it
Just getting all my ducks in a row - then Ill hit it!
We have a farmer's one behind our house.
It's more or less broken down most of the time.
Reliable on government subsidies 100 percent just to make a profit
Been couple years. Any updates cheers Graham

@@t.h.o.r. thx I have a look
Hi,
Thanks Lot for your informative video documentation on BioGas Digester. I live in wellington and keen to have a go on this for our Home use mainly for heating, but not sure how it might work in Wellington Weather. For a start I made a query from Wellington City Council regarding the council guidance when building a Home BioGas Unit, Officer replied said he will pass my query to experts for advice and also suggested to check with a Registered Plumber. Still I haven't got a proper response from The Council. Are you aware of any specific requirements that need to follow. I believe it is mostly common sense actions when dealing with flammable gas types. Soon I expect to start building the Digester once I managed to purchase three IBC 's.
Even though I got plenty of space underneath the house for the BioDigester, I am planning to install it by the side of the Home. I am not sure whether it is safe to put underneath the house. Advantage may be protection from Cold wind. But may have to keep a gas detector as a safety precaution.
What are the areas that I need to be careful and aware of when installing and maintaining the BioGas System.
Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.
Best Regards,
Jagath
Hi Everyone, Can anyone help with how you could set up with 2 x IBC, 1 for insinkerator from sink for waste and grey water the other to connect to this and be the digestor? Looking for some help with a domectic use case.
We are eagerly waiting for you new biogas system building series. Do you think you will be able to do it soon? Thankyou
We are having a horrible summer here in NZ. I can't get the bigester into the thermophillic range to start producing methane efficiently- I have to wait for weather over 20C
Love your videos. Your new microphone isn't doing the trick mate. Are you sure it's picking up your voices, or is the camera mic picking it up. Because somethings not right. Cheers.
I built one ten years ago anyone want help to build one let me know
Love your channel! This is dusch a great series. Im only sad then the outro comes on. So loud compared to the rest Evry time. Lower the volume or ease into it would make my ears so much happier
Glad you enjoy it!- sometimes I remember to drop the volume on that clip- sometimes I dont - sorry
Any chance you're lower NI? I'll happily swap my muscle for some brain picking. With prices as they are, people need these running!
Oh, would like that link too! I've not built as haven't found the universal seals.
Links up! NZ Pipe Otahuhu here is an example-100mm 90degree bend at Mitre 10 $16.00. from NZPipe- $4.00- Oh Im in Waikato. I just have to get My IBC lifted out from behind other stuff and carried down the garden. - Some sucker will turn up eventually lol!
See Jean Pain, you will love him.
Ive known of his heating system for years but never knew him by name until now - Thank you
@@t.h.o.r. Try to get a copy of 'A Better Way of Gardening' by Jean and Ida Pain. It is still way ahead of the times. He used forest fuel -hazardous material as feedstock for both composting and methanization. Managing the forest fuel overburden is the radiant core of environmental care. Jean is a master composter.
@@t.h.o.r. Correction - The book is called 'Another Way of Gardening.'
Sir,i love your video and your ideas of making it possible, but how hopeful this things will get to Nigeria 🇳🇬.?
Im sure that a resourceful man like you can find everything needed to do this?
If you get someone to do it let me know please
It crazy. My brother wanted parts for his computer couple years ago. Look up the price online, went to shop and they said no, that inline price. So he went outside and order and payment s online and walk back inside and pick up
Welcome to the future of price/people manipulation...
where is part 3?
It's sitting waiting for a dose of cow poo to activate it. I was intending to fire it up when it hit 20C - but this has been the wierdest summer we have ever seen. Insane rain and flooding- It never got over 32C air temp and the Digester contents did not reach 20 core temp. So I waited and waited. Now its Autumn... Ive built 4 cabins and greenhouse and fixed a whole heap of stuff though! Sorry haha. Im itching to get it going as LPG is now $42 nzd a bottle! In short- Stay watching- It will happen!
10:43 your one week is up 😆
aww I know!- we had the worst summer ever and just never got any warm weather!- Its sitting here waiting for 20C to happen. 16.5C was as warm as I got!
Did he end up making it? Couldn't fund a video.
It's all made, but nobody wants to see a video unless it has a happy ending. We have just had 12 months of horrible weather. so Ive not had a reliable 16C airtemp. without that gas production is really lethargic. Only now is our weather clearing a little. The vid is part made- I just have to film the happy ending!
Rather than trying find two tanks that fit in each other for gas storage I'm going to stack one tank on top of the other other conect the bottom of the bottom tank to the bottom of the upper tank and as the bottom tank fills up with gas the water is pushed up to the top tank and the weight of the water column will give it pressure I too have watched numerous videos on building methane gas digesters storing the gas and putting it in propane tanks for storage and portability
