You misunderstand what PONOS is saying there, its a legal distinction that purchasing a ticket and selecting a character to accuse does not mean that that character will be added to your cat army as if you purchased a unit out of the gacha. Its a legal disclaimer that has to be made so people can't get mad if they believe picking nerd cat will unlock nerd cat in their army when they purchase the pack. Most players don't make it through EOC so some noobs could take this campaign as "choose the strongest hero to add to my army". There is one right answer and all other answers will yield 4 tickets.

There is a clue on special gacha banner info (special capsules -> tap on banner -> scroll to bottom). Don't remember which banner of two, though. Also there is a small chance of another loading Star Wars opening to appear (you know what I mean). They also can be a clue. You can randomly get them when you enter the game.
ITS DEFINETLY EVIL CAT!! they have a mask, which is a disguise, they look like an evil spirit which makes sense to spirit residue, or whatever it is and judging by these first 2 clues, the conclusion comes to evil cat
Going to the event capsule and looking at the bottom of the discription will give another hint Edit: the second hint states that the culprit is one that is actually an enemy in disguise, and the official battle cats youtube channel posted a video about mission impawsible, and at the end it showed eveil cat actually being assassin bear, so... you guys no who I would vote for
There's another clue at the bottom of the information page for the 10th anniversary event gacha and I can't shake the suspicion that gummy cat matches the clues even tho he's not a suspect
What they mean by "doesn't mean that you'll receive the selected suspect character." Means that they wont give you the answer to whom the suspect is so you can't spoil it.
