Shane Elliott this was recommended when I was showing my son the dumb ass who snapped his back doing crossfit, I was using crossfit as a learning tool to show my son what not to do and all the injuries you all have trying to lift, compare bodybuilding injuries to crossfit injuries, the evidence doesn't lie

Does Josh Bridges fully extend his arms when doing the thrusters? It seems not. On the other hand, look at Mat. There is absolutely no discussion possible. His performance is just schoolbook style: arms fully extended, nice deep squat.
Josh's left shoulder is missing some internal rotation which is preventing him from that just "shy of" full extension. May also be effecting his elbow at this point to. Just my take on it, what does everyone think?
Sarcastic Squash this is not for muscle growth. Is running for muscle growth? Is bicycling for strength? Rowing? No. Well, this is the same principle, just like running.
Poopy Butt the benefits in crossfit is improved grip strength (from holding on while your body weight kips) and faster time which is why are made in the first place. If you’re trying to get strong yeah you’d do strict pull-ups but this is a met con for cardio if it weren’t a comp
I’m happy to see the video, but you could have written Mat Fraser AND Josh Bridges in the title. Not cool to not name him when he reached 2nd place on the workout.
wow....crossfit aside, he served our country as a seal for multiple years. proved himself to be one of the toughest in the world just by becoming a special operator, has won how many open workouts and events? He is the oldest and shortest male athlete to compete and you call him a little bitch and a loser. Would love to see what someone with the RUclips name of Eric Cartman has achieved in their life 😂😂
chris duncan, first off it's SEALS! All CAPS. I see you don't have enough respect for yourself to use capitals in your name but please do so when referring to something as honorable as the SEALS or admit you love ISIS and hate America. Like you said he's the shortest male so he's little. He likes to scream and swear to try and make himself seem big, like all short men do, so calling him a bitch is justified. And he's been caught cheating many times he's a loser. As for my life I have nothing to prove to an America hating, socialist like you.
Love Josh... but I looked at vid twice and counted 20 c2b pullups in the round of 21. Either judge messed up. Or we just gonna act like it never happened
If you watch the judges lips, and listen closely around 8:22 you can see she counts ten reps and after josh jumps down, she then starts at 12 instead of 11. This far into the workout you can't expect bridges to be counting, this is all on the judge not him, and since he got 2nd place by more than one rep I don't see it being an issue but good catch though. definitely made me go and check
XNight MGO he completed the round of 24 thrusters. That would make 192 rep's, yet his final score ist only 191. So the missing c2b must have already been subtracted. Still doesn't change anything in his position on the leaderboard or in his great performance. Good eye though!
Honestly, I cringed every time that judge touched the bar (which was, every time he dropped it when he started breaking sets up to drag it closer). This is a race. Judges should not touch the equipment anytime from start to finish. period.
The guy on the right does not extend his left arm fully on the thrusters, you can clearly see how the bar is lower on his left side. Does he have an injury, or is it considered a full thruster as long as the bar reaches a certain height?
The guy on the left is likely breathing when bar is overhead whereas on right when bar is coming down. Therefore bar on left is spending more time at top making it seem like he is extending better.
Some people’s elbows lack the ROM to completely “lock out” myself included. Makes overhead squatting more difficult. There are also Olympic weightlifters with the same issues but still compete. It appears his right elbow has a little better ROM.
There are a lot of things I admire about Crossfit. There's competition, athleticism, intensity, sense of community, etc.. But I'll ALWAYS think kipping pullups are bullshit. Just like I hate a supposed "handstand" pushup where someone lowers their knees down and kicks their legs back up for pushing momentum. The sacrificing of strict form for volume and speed is Crossfit's main flaw IMO. It's why you hear about so many injuries.
You don’t actually hear about that many injuries.... CrossFit has actually sued company’s for wrongfully spreading stats that aren’t true to boost their own product. The purpose of kipping is for speed and I guess a good show, the games would be boring if we had to watch them shake out every rep after doing a quick set of 10. Same with handstands. I get your opinion but seriously the closest to injury I’ve seen is a bloody hand.
Shit these guys are beast with training and equipment they have, just imagine if they we're locked up with the taining and equipment they have, they'd be super beast lmao
1_Josh in pullups round of " 21" he make only "20" ... 2_josh judge was helping him to reach the bar ... 3_josh arms was not fully extended when doing rhrusters From 1&2&3 ...🤔🙄 ...judge !!? Anyway josh still one of the best CF athletes
Someone tell me this. Why not change the standards of the "chest to bar" so that they have to do strict movements. It would still be a race and a competition but they would just have to lower the reps. And it seems like it would way better for competitors joints, tbh those chest to bars look dangerous
ProneToInfection changing it to that standard will defeat the purpose of the workout. If they change it to that...the athletes will likely run into muscular fatigue before feeling the conditioning that is intended. The athletes are performing the movements safety here. However every sport poses its own unique risks. Chest to bar pull-ups as shown are most likely less dangerous than a game of football, soccer, basketball, and many other sports.
You could add something else in order to make the workout more tiring. There's plenty of crossfit workouts. When I mean dangerous, I mean dangerous on the persons joints. Look at the way Matt slams all his weight into his joints with each pull up. Btw I am a fan of crossfit, I'm just trying to offer a better alternative
Then sprinters should walk, skateboarders should wear full body armor, American football should switch from tackling to touch, etc etc Again, CORRECTIVE exercise allows their joints to be safe. Do you think they dont do horizontal pulling and controlled pressing? Of course they do. Kipping as a standalone in training is ridiculous, they do corrective exercise.
Shaun - no, one is a somewhat decent guy, the other is a little douche that's been caught cheating many times, both are competing at the washed up loser olympics.
CoreFit Torres to me it makes sense in a competition I mean how boring would the games be if we had to watch them rest every 3 pull ups because of the soreness
@@seanclarke6733 I would and many others would appreciate it if it was without the massive kipping. You wouldn't get many comments pointing it out. Joseph Kobatake well they do lol but not because of injuries, chiros are great for effective recovery if you’re rich enough to do that on the regular

Thomas Corn true. He only edged out Bridges by a little bit. 2016 Bridges passed Fraser in the murph at the games.
They were THAT close. People acting like this was a blowout.

Shane Elliott and miles behind everybody who does real pull ups

Dod anyone else catch that Bridges was a rep short on the c2b pu's on the 21s?

Josh have a left shoulder injury? Bar is significantly lower on the left side when he presses up.

how much weight do the trusther please?
100 pounds on this one! so a 25lbs and a 2.5lbs plate on each side of a standard mens olympic bar.
Josh had a huge advantage with his little limbs and full squat that looked barely parallel. Matt turns it on at the end. He knows how to finish
jzb111 Wrong. Fraser has advantage on the thrusters, and Bridges has advantage on the chest to bar
I wonder if this is how they decide how many reps to do for an actual event
Lol this is the playlist I would guess these guys listen to
The guy on the right does not extend his left arm fully on the thrusters, you can clearly see how the bar is lower on his left side. Does he have an injury, or is it considered a full thruster as long as the bar reaches a certain height?
Biceps so big that he is fully extended at that angle! 😜
Agree. Somethings up
ye doesnt fully extend left arm the whole way through, maybe that's where he locks out? injury? limit of movement?
Could be the tattoo
The guy on the left is likely breathing when bar is overhead whereas on right when bar is coming down. Therefore bar on left is spending more time at top making it seem like he is extending better.
nice pullups
And weird, Josh Bridges not going below parallel and not fully extending his arms at the top.
Pull ups or roll ups?
Fraser king of crossfit !!!
How come they don’t do any pull ups?
People can talk all the shit they want but this type of exercise will break you down no doubt.
