You could add citric acid to the sugar he coats it with at the end to give it a bit of tang back.

There's a mushroom called chicken of the woods, which has the same texture as an actual chicken. Cook it the same way you would a fried chicken and season it properly. That's your fried chicken without a chicken.

So at first i was quite confused by the title since i initially thought buddha's hand is some kind of lemon. But after quick search, turns out buddha's hand is some kind of citron while lemon is a hybrid of citron. They technically the same species? I've always thought buddha's hand is mostly used for decorations to put on the altar. My family never eats it and sait it doesn't taste good. Now I'm rethinking the amount of buddha's hands we wasted.

You don't need a dehydrater my great grandma made these with lemon, like and oranges, all the time, same steps just let it sit in the oven on very very low for about 20-30 minutes depending on how thick.
