The only thing I find a bit doubtful about the job is the total absence of a rear mudguard. You'll probably get a nice sunk stripe painted on your back whenever streets are wet and murky. Except for that, it's an absolute beauty and the sound is lovely as well. The latter confirms my long-held opinion that a silencer helps making the sound more characterful than open pipes.
Totally agree, great looking bike now but I look at the missing rear mudguard as a balance to the styling, not from a practical point of view. I just think completely chopped rear ends make the bike look unfinished and unbalanced….. imho 😀
That looks great, and yes, the exhaust note is spot on. Remarkable to see the difference in the before/after shots at the end...the bike has gone from a decent, but vanilla, modern retro, to something really special - job well done! Ps...can't believe that number plate is legal though 😉
Very nice custom, great job. I've just started mine I've used vstrom rims on the enfield hubs to give me the gold anodised look, plus the bonus of tubeless tyres.
Outstanding. This RE is the perfect definition of “custom”. She is a stunning looker, built to your taste. Ya hit this one outta the ballpark. 👍🏼 😎 🇺🇸 🌎

I know I was stunned - I thought they would bite my arm off, bar the one on the South Coast (who were great guys) and the chaps up in Watford no one wanted to know!!! Incredible!!
No one wants to do any work anymore. I've had the same results with custom paint shops. Most never respond to your enquiries and the few that do they just say "sorry, we're stacked out for the next 12 months". They treat potential customers like absolute garbage. Seems to me, if you want to make some money and have a job for life, train to be an airbrush artist or bike customiser. It's not particularly skilled work, especially if the paintwork is just masking and stripes.
@@fyorbane it is a skill I agree. But I also believe it’s a skill that most people can learn to a decent level within a 6 month period. I couldn’t imagine you going over the top with the custom and you have commissioned a really tasteful bike: the colour scheme is great; congratulations and it sounds lovely too. Well done 👍🏻
Everything about customised bikes is intensely personal, so the most important thing about it is that you’re happy with it. Having said that, you invited comment on what people think you did right or wrong. So in my humble opinion, I love nearly everything about it. Great looking colour scheme, pipes sound fantastic, and all the touches like hiding the cables get a 👍🏻. The bit I don’t like is the rear. I think I t’s too short, both aesthetically and practically. I think it would have a more balanced look if the rear mudguard extended a little more beyond the saddle. At the minute, the bike just stops and it looks like something is missing as all the “bulk” is up front. You’re also going to get a lot of shite sprayed up the back of your jacket with no mudguard. The clue’s in the name 😂. I’ll be interested to see your experience of knobbly tyres as well. A mate of mine had a BMW R9T with knobbly tyres. He hated them because of a lack of grip and other handling problems on the road. Other than that, great job. Hope you’re happy with it, and it gives you many hours of enjoyment, both visually, and riding it
Yes I did ask for a mudguard - that’s one of the changes I’d like - there are a number of things about the bike I’m not keen on - it’s 90% there….some more tweaks required. The nobblies on the R9T were awful! Luckily these feel and sound no different to road tyres….

Really? Can you imagine how inconvenient and impractical, and potentially dangerous those ridiculous side numberplates actually are in use? The only reason for doing that is to pander to the other obsessive fad of ‘losing the rear end’! Why? Why pretend you’ve got the type of bike we all rode around fields as kids? Definitely a beautiful result. I had similar patterned tyres on a mountain bike and spent many a happy hour arguing with people who thought the front tyre was on babackwards! Best thing is the lack of the noise that you get from knobblies which can make a bike sound like an army landrover.
Wondering what they might be like in the rain? I just had my Mot this morning on the BMW and had the service done about a month ago. Tipped down both times. Never escape the rain in the UK.
Very nice, Andy. I particularly like the way they've managed to tuck the cables away into the bars. Enjoy!

I do love it!
Wow what a lovely looking bike. Worth the wait I am sure. Even my wife likes it and she isn’t into bikes. Congratulations
Definitely a beautiful result. I had similar patterned tyres on a mountain bike and spent many a happy hour arguing with people who thought the front tyre was on babackwards! Best thing is the lack of the noise that you get from knobblies which can make a bike sound like an army landrover.
Yes I thought I might get some whirring or whizzing noises off the tyres but they sound (and feel) fine....
Wondering what they might be like in the rain? I just had my Mot this morning on the BMW and had the service done about a month ago. Tipped down both times. Never escape the rain in the UK.
That is a top class job! Looks absolutely proper! Many smiles per miles assured
Ooh, that first gear whine is lovely!
Good of Mrs Flyer to wear the matching top , a very nice bike indeed.
Gorgeous bike. Fantastic job of design and craftsmanship.
Finally!!! Incredible! Wow! You, sir, have a real Dream garage.
