    Great videos. My issue:
I have an SC-540 solvent/6 head - bought it used in 2010, and still use it regularly - (some 14 years now).
However, in this past year, I've been having issues with Cyan colors coming though incorrectly, for at times, tends to appear in the purple values. Needless to say, have had to do print tests before processing older digital files with blue in them, and tweaking the file to get a more accurate output. And the colors in the files are accurate - as I've been processing them for many years.
Could it be a weak component on one of the boards that's causing this to happen? Like maybe a weakening capacitor(s) or other component?
Or is a board just getting old and needs replacing altogether, and if so, which would it be that controls color and will restore accuracy?
    Thanks in advance.

It is more than likely a weak printhead, if anything. Them crystals get worn out over time. Sometimes, changing the head rank helps.

@@reprint217 Thanks for getting back to me. Have changed head, to no avail. So am stumped. Can you explain 'changing the head rank' ? And I do my own servicing as I'm in a mountain region with no support. And the last time a few years ago, I had a tech-guy come to install a head, and he told me he didn't need to input the rank of the head, at all. I wasn't comfortable and asked him to do it anyways. Can you comment on what he stated?

    WOW, another great video!
I have an SP540V I purchased new in 2010 and it has worked great all this time, in my home-based small graphics business. However lately I noticed it will not print the colors correctly on the FAR left side.
The printed image looks great until it is printing at the last 5"-6" of a 50" wide image, the printed image looks kind of greenish like the magenta is not printing on the far left side only. Someone suggest I change out the magenta damper, which I did and that made no difference.
Do you have any idea what would cause the magenta to not print only on the far left side of an image when printing?

If its in the same area I would suspect you may need to clean the encoder strip or replace it. Thanks for your support

Hello. We bought a used Vp540 printer, with 4 nozzles, the yellow color produces the same for me after starting up the printer (we saw it in operation at the previous owner, it was fine there). The printer was transported normally, it was not dropped or hit anywhere. I looked at the thing mentioned in the video, I didn't measure different values for transistors. I also tried moving cables, but unfortunately the same problem still exists. Where else can you find fault?

old sp300 does perfect test prints like a brand new machine, but print anything and the black seems to be firing at the wrong time, say a letter ' I ', theres extra black dots around it horizontally, like spurious nozzle firing. as its for print and cut there's corner alignment marks, these are often fine but the text is terrible and fuzzy, its nothing i have ever seen fail in such a way, and as said the head test shows all nozzles working, all nice and neat and with perfect alignment nozzle to nozzle. i thought is it a wiper making the head dirty, but that should affect the head test print..

I've seen weak heads with perfect nozzle checks print horrible.
I would start by cleaning encoder strip. Second run fill test in service mode and check for overspray. I should have videos on both

Great video, however, I don't see the video about how you enter the MODE MODE on an SP540V that you mentioned in this video.
