    It is really nice that you show the possibillity of doing a LLM programm in Germany. Talking about the Staatsexamen which is the regular law degree it is quite different to the LLM programm and a lot more to do. It contains public law penalty law as well as private law in general. Specific parts like intellectual property and competition law can be part of the degree doing a specification called the Schwerpunktstudium.

    Elena you have to help me. I'm a parent who has been following your vlogs since my eldest daughter was at high school. My eldest didn't make Oxbridge, but my youngest received an offer and achieved the grades (scottish advanced highers) this summer and is going to study law at Oxford in the autumn.
    Firstly, no one in our family has studied law and it would be nice to know what study and lecture tools to acquire like laptops, books etc. Secondly advice on writing law essays. I would be grateful if you did a vlog on this.
    I started following your vlog with the personal statement episode, and thanks to your help my family achieved its first Oxford entry; before this summer it was Imperial, Leeds, Edinburgh, Warwick, St Andrews. Mostly because we never took the Oxbridge admissions and personal statements seriously until I started watching your vlogs.
    Once again thanks for your help!

    Hi Elena, interesting video!
    Am I understanding it correctly that you’re not going to do the Staatsexamen? What will the LLM then allow you to practice as? Could you still become a ‘normal’ Lawyer, without doing Staatsexamen and Referendariat? Would be great to hear your thoughts on your plans after this degree. Thank you :)

    • @detlef3000
      @detlef3000 Год назад

      She can definitely not work as a lawyer in germany without 1. and 2. Staarsexamen. I'm wondering as well, what she is going to do with the LLM in the end. In Germany a LLM is next to worthless and is not providing job opportunities, matching her prior academic ambitions.

    • @ElenaHandtrack
      @ElenaHandtrack  Год назад +10

      Hi! An LL.M. doesn't qualify you to work as a lawyer in Germany. I'm keeping my post-uni plans private for now :)

    • @CC-yy3lg
      @CC-yy3lg Год назад +3

      @@detlef3000 that's absolutely not true. She has many opportunities especially with so many laws coming in place for company's regarding certain topics like ESG... And to consult or something like that you don't need the Staatsexamen you simply need knowledge on how the laws work ....

    • @anonymus390
      @anonymus390 Год назад +2

      @@detlef3000 That is not true at all. You can do an LL. B. and/or LL.M in tax law or commercial law, with that you are able to work either for the government, in tax or for companies. (Working in commercial law like compliance, contracts etc.) There are a LOT of possibilites, well paid ones at that. To a degree you are even allowed to represent clients before court. (In cases where being represented by lawyers before court are not mandatory)
      You are not allowed to call yourself a lawyer, but legal practitioner. (In Germany that would be you are allowed to call yourself "Jurist", but not "Anwalt/Rechtsanwalt")

      @ElenaHandtrack  Год назад +3

      Haha having a colour-coordinated book shelf was on the top of my Wishlist for the furniture for my new apartment and I'm so happy it became a reality. And yes, that with the transcript is a really odd situation since German universities normally allow you to get one within seconds through their online platforms (and Tübingen does so for students of other subjects, but not for us LLM students)

    I don't know why people keep spreading the nonsense that master's degree is worse than undergrad. I'm engineering major and master's is definitely much less stressful and basically everyone I know says the same. It's so hharmful in a way because I know bunch of people who were super exhausted after getting their bachelor's degree and were so scared by these rumors that master's is worse that they just decided not to pursue it. Which is a shame.

      @@user-td8vy7di9vok let me give you a simple but very important information.... If you are an Indian or any other third world country resident don't go to law.... It won't be worth it.... Because countries like these are not federal and don't focus on the judiciary..... If you still want to study law I suggest you go to countries like America, Canada, uk, Australia, etc and pursue law and settle there.... Trust me don't ruin your life

    • @ElenaHandtrack

      I wüsste auch gerne den Grund, aber alles was kam ist, dass sie das halt einfach nicht machen😂 Normalerweise kann man sich in Tübingen auch einfach auf deren online Plattform sein Zeugnis erstellen lassen, aber nicht für LL.M.-Studenten (was irgendwie keinen Sinn macht aber lol)

      She has an autoimmune condition. Whilst changing her diet may have some impact on her overall health it is unlikely to have an impact on her autoimmune condition as thats controlled by her immune system and multiple immune factors (such as cytokines, immune cells).

      Hi! Your diet is definitely important for your health, but I have an autoimmune disease and suffered pretty painful side effects from my medication for the past few months - changing my diet wouldn't have solved those issues, unfortunately :)
