- I’ve seen wisteria in a few spots here locally growing on businesses and I thought to give it a try myself :)
We are familiar with bougainvillea vines so I wanted to try something different but equally beautiful 😍
I was lucky that my local nursery had them on hand during my last visit 🍃💃🏽🪴💜
…Enjoyed the puppy assistance 🐶🐾
I have 3 of them planted today. They are in big pots because TX hill country soil is hard to dig (only rocks) ... if you are afraid that they are invasive, put them in pots.
Hi again Gen new subscriber here! You are doing such an awesome job!!! Welcome to RUclips!!! Oh my goodness… whisteria are one of my favorites I hope you will enjoy it too! For 3 weeks out of the year its heaven on earth! 💜💜💜 Liz from California
What a beautiful plant. I love purple in my garden as well.
The best!
Looking great! Keep going!
We are very close! I go to Lukas Nursery all the time! Thanks for sharing!!
Nice! Yes if you want a wisteria they had a lot there.
That sounds like the perfect Nursery for my: my eldest son is called Lukas😄
Oh honey! Never put a wisteria next too a foundation or a house. The darn thing will pull down your house!
I just planted two of them against the back fence on the property. Hope the sun ours gets from 11 a.m. until sunset is enough.
i live in a 9b zone but in cali, looking fwd to seeing how this does :)
Come back in about two years
I want wisteria in my yard so bad, but no one here wants me to grow it because they say it’s so invasive and they don’t like it
I read this variety is not invasive, it’s the American variety not the Chinese.
I heard it has very aggressive roots and shouldn't be planted right next to walls, pipes, cable lines etc. I want to grow them too but I live in a rented apartment and I'm afraid of causing damages I'll have to pay for
Wisteria roots can go very deep but unlike a lot of other plants such as trees they don't spread out horizontal. They keep a close root ball but send down taproots deep up to 4 feet for young vines and deeper for larger ones. Wouldn't recommend planting next to a wall unless you are planning on keeping it in tree form or constantly trimming because they will climb and can do damage to siding and roofs if left to grow.
