Awesome video my dude. Keep the 2016 Ram 1500 videos coming. You do a great job of explaining and showing what you are doing- and that's some great work with the camera for being crammed inside an engine compartment.
Holy geeze. How did you remove the starter????? I did remove that one bolt, but the starter won't move. You've got to remove a heck of a lot more than one bolt. It looked so easy....
I think there’s more than one bolt, at least it looks like that in the video. Plus I took off the heat shield. Not sure if that’s required since this was 6years ago.
Awesome video thanks so much! I have the 5.7 hemi in a 2005 Ram 2500 and my block heater "cavity" is in the exact same spot. I had no idea! It's all buggered up from 17 years of driving but a blast from the air hose, some PB Blaster, and a tap/chase should clean 'er right up. Cheers bud!
@@Tyler_Koehn do you remember what thread and pitch the bolt is? I bought the Kat's heater instead of the Mopar and mine didn't come with the bolt. I Red RTV'd the heck out of it but the bolt would make me feel better. Thanks again! Great vid. Just finished mine.
Yes, as mentioned - Good video on subject largely ignored. * Any info on whether you can leave this block heater plugged in overnight, without harm ? (some of the coolant heaters are MAX 4HR , which this is not that type). Also, is the wattage listed ? Thanks
Thanks Bud, I'm sure you can leave it plugged in overnight. We leave vehicles at work plugged in for months at a time. I wouldn't think twice about that. Being said though i use a timer just for the simple fact of cost to power. I have it set to turn on 3hrs prior to leaving for work. As for wattage I never did see anything on it but i see the aftermarket "Kat's" brand has a 400watt rating on theirs so i would think it would be in that vicinity. Hope this helps. Defiantly worth it!
So how long does it take to change out the block heater cord and block heater out of a 2019 Dodge ram classic I’ve brought my truck in three times and they still cannot remove it. They’re saying it seized into the motor so now they’re worried about cracking the block. It’s cost me $1000 each time they cannot remove it. How many times do I have to keep paying for something that is not fixed
Great video, thank you. Although maybe a laser pointer would’ve been a little easier to see where you navigated the wire loom. Maybe it’s just me, but it took me a while to see what you were talking about had to rewind a few times, but all in all thank you very much. Extremely helpful. 🙏
