I'm 80 and live in Australia, but love watching your videos. While I can never do what you do, you are quite inspirational. Well done Dave, all the best for the future.

Dave, thank you for your great words of wisdom about keeping a positive attitude. I love your comments about preparing for mental battle everyday and not thinking about any negative thoughts. Your 5 year plan is a great idea, I will start doing that starting tonight. Man, I am so glad that I found your RUclips channel! Not only are you an amazing photographer, you are an amazing person!

Dave, what you perceive as intimidating is something very natural in human beings since the dawn of our race in the world, and what you also point out, is that once you determine to carry out your task or responsibility, such fear will no longer immobilize you and therefore it will seem to vanish, it is also part of normality. In the first case you are facing the lion and its power without seeing the lion, but being clear about the real possibilities that you would have before its claws and jaws; in the second scenario, you are already facing the real lion and you have to fight for your life, and when you do so, you realize that you do can fight him, that you have a series of weapons to face him.
The recipe for such ancient fears is exactly what an 80-year-old Australian has written to you in the comments just previous to mine, who tells you that he or she and many other living beings cannot do what you do; that makes you an inspiring human being. And this makes you responsible for all those who observe you with respect; corollary, your job is to continue being who you are, which demands an ever-increasing effort from you to face fear, but this also has the sweet reward to feel satisfied when you have achieved your goal, as most of the time use to happen. Keep the faith.

I have been so stagnant with my photography. I haven't picked up my camera in weeks. I really needed this! Thank you!!

An easy technique I use: Edit or shoot for 10 minutes a day minimum. Usually after starting you'll end up doing much longer. But if you don't you got your win for the day!

Thank you for your insight Dave. I've been a slave to my brain too long at times and found I was feeding the negative rather than the creative spirit of doing. your insight here has inspired me to change this now, today, and I'm heading out on a shoot right now. Opportunity is everywhere. thank you Dave.

Loved this video. Ironically, I just started reading The War of Art by Steven Pressfield. It's good kick in the ass too. Keep up the great work Dave!

Insightful thoughts Dave and I guess we all face that demon that threatens creativity. Another approach I employ is when I come up with an excuse not to be creative whether its going out with the camera or processing, I try and come with at least 2 reasons why I should in order to generate a creative bias.
