Not a big difference a trick is to angle some cardboard and rest it behind the built in speaker on top of the radio so the sound travels more forward makes a big difference
@@T.M.G2014 yes these came with a switch inside to wideband as standard no soldering or bridging etc required switch is activated in mine works well on 11 meters and the ATU works well there also
@@MorayMac nice piece of kit, when I gave it up back in the mid eighties I had a ham international Concorde 2, bremi 200w amp and a 3 element beam…… wish I’d kept them now😭😭😭
Moray it is in beautiful shape… I like it. I still have FT-102 complete line from these ages. Good luck.

Hf has been good recently and that radio sounds great
Very nice radio I have same set with 6m 2m and 70cm i don't use it much nowadays my main set is Icom 7300 as my 767 is playing up a little.
Question, i have the same set, but do not jave the cabke to connect the speaker to the tranciever. Do you find that the external speaker helps?

Lovely radio but with the cycle 25 running I'd like a radio to cheekily dx on 11m
That’s easy mine transmits everywhere as standard

A lovely radio. I loved mine. Even listening to long wave Radio 4 on 198 KHz the rich sound was fantastic.
You do realise that you have me pricing radios now!!! It’s all your fault if I succumb to the overwhelming temptation 🤣🤣🤣
I sold this one was my first Hf radio from new wasn’t using it so sold
